Hi everyone! I am curious about the American spring break times. I know it falls in April (our schools do a March Break week)but exactly when in April? Does it vary from state to state. I am wondering about WDW crowds during April/May and how spring break affects the parks. I can tell from reading other posts that Easter is pretty crowded and am assuming spring break time would be too. If anyone can confirm when the official spring break times are, that would be great-Thanks in advance...

Yes, it does vary. My sister's college spring break was last week. My children's school district doesn't have an actual spring break, but they do get 2 1/2 days off before easter weekend and 2 days following, so many have planned vacations for that time.

Our spring break has always been in the middle of march, whether it be high school, college, and now grad school. I am actually on my last day of freedom before returning to school this week =( Most of the area schools were out this week or the week before. It really really varies by place. Here, I don't know anyone with April spring breaks... but other places may be different.

I always think of spring break being in March, I know thats when MTV does their big spring break junk on TV and the beaches in Texas are packed =)

I think there are more US breaks during March than April. That's a guess based on the fact that many schools are out in May.

my son's spring break is the last week in april.But not all of the schools are the same week here.

There is no "official US" spring break; breaks are dictated by the local school boards, or on the college level, by the school.
Essentially, any time between the second week of March and the 3rd week of April will have some spring breakers around, though the week before/after Easter will be peak in most years.

Do take into account the UK school holiday, that adds greatly to the concentration of guests at WDW. (This year, that's Apr. 2-18, I think.)

There are a few places that even have "spring" break in February! (I'm thinking of the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan U.)

Most of those not in college have spring break around Easter..week before or week after (at least in PA). Or like my DD the Thrusday before Easter to the Wednesday after! Colleges are different and vary greatly but I remember my college days (not too long ago) and there weren't too many trips to WDW! But I think colleges vary but are mostly in March...at least that was my experience!
