Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

I was up thinking... A window ledge overlooking Cinderella's Castle is The Sum of all Sills!
Has that been done?

If it had a Kodak PhotoSpot, it would be The Sum of All Stills.

Yep. Done it.

if the roller coaster went over the city dump, it would be called The Sum of all Landfills.

We have a winnah!
Didn't use that one.

If Nebo rode it, it would be called The Sum of All Spills.

Yep. Did that one.

Please stop me before I hurt myself.

Stoppppp!!!!!!

I was up thinking... A window ledge overlooking Cinderella's Castle is The Sum of all Sills!
Has that been done?

Yep. Did that one.
Don't know if we used Cindy's, but we did use the window sill.

If the ride was at the gym, Sum of All Treadmills. (I haven't read the others so sorry if that was already said, I'm not a plagiarist, I'm just lazy).

I don't think we're ready for the next update yet. There's only a half day left and nobody likes departure day. I figured we could stretch this out until the end of February.

Oh, no. It's definitely up. Assuming one considers North as "up".

:rotfl2:

Yes, I suppose there's no getting around that.

It's such a shame - I really wanted to go your Voyageur festival in February....

Mail? What is this "mail" you speak of?
Do you mean like when I give a message to the Royal Dogsled Team?
I didn't use them this time.
I used the more reliable method of putting the invite in a bottle and chucking it in the river.

Pity I live at least 2 hours from the water :sad1:

I'm not surprised. I have that affect on a lot of people.

Wait.
You are talking about feeling queasy, right?

tumblr_nirg9pIre31t4fgzeo1_500.gif

Wait! Don't go! Come back!

I hardly think so.

You've got those down in Oz????
Niiiiiice.

It's to compensate for all the spiders...

I didn't know sooner!!

I thought you were psychic?

 -20?? -20???? :lmao: No! Don't be silly! That's crazy!
Right now, as I write, it's -26.

-20. I wish!

If I were there I'd be all like...

I stay a day ahead of my TR (writing wise), just in case I get slammed. But usually if I get slammed I don't have time to kee up with the "shout-outs" either. Still I'm always sneaking in my DIS time. Like right now, she's napping.
is there a link for your tr?
If it had a Kodak PhotoSpot, it would be The Sum of All Stills.

oh and if you combine it with another Epcot attraction... Sum of all Thrillers....
ok that stinks but hey I tried.
first of wonderful not to Nebo. His were the first trip reports I read on the dis and I followed over to yours from there. I so miss his writing and the banter. It was like meeting Dis board royality when he and smidgy made it out here to our side of the world. Got to meet nebo, Smidgy, THumper and Lady h/ I was star struck. How bad you ask (yeah I know you didn't but.) nebo asks "so Betsey, which direction do you have to drive in from, I respond with uuummmmmmdddduuuhhh, yeah sounded like that but eventually I composed myself and said, about an hour give or take east/southish.
my daughter was concerned about having both lance and nebo in the same place as they are both a bit um shall we say accident magnets? lol
mike and heather are just so darn cute too. MIss mike's rewriting of the song lyrics they were so funny, *ahem ahem thumperman hint hint hint*
ok so now back to my favorite Canadian and leader of our harem,
is it too late to get my guesses in?
gotta go back a read a few more pages of banter but don't want to miss my window of opportunity here I mean I am soooooooo killing it right now (yeahhh)
thinking you are heading to the studios
you will try a carrot cake cookie
three parks today, finishing at mk
thinking you do have an adr at tony's town square
and that you do get some rain
and because I would squeeze out every last second I think you guys throw caution to the wind, close down mk and head back pack and hit the lobby for your ickyful depress ride to the airport (heck you can sleep on the plane right?_
have a good evening, trying to talk lance into dl tomorrow am early early so we can try to snag a ride on the lilly belle before they moth ball her for 2 years. we got lucky yesterday the rain cleared out for a bit (yeah we actually had weather out here for a few days oh and an earthquake small one 4.2 or something like that. but we got to see the aladdin show that they are yanking out off dca for ,, no I don't want to say it....a frozen stage show because you know there just isn't enough frozen entertainment options in Disney parks these days.*blech* but scarlett *aka cutest toddler grandchild ever* and I went to see it oh and we let that lady she lives with come along too. lol,

 That's a line I rarely use.
I like it, but it's not ingrained in my everyday lexicon yet.

That's ok, it reached its high point on The Office years ago so you don't really need to adopt it now. Although it's still funny to me. I probably use it more often that I should.

Good! I'm glad!

How about now? Does that annoy you?

How about now?

How about...
Now?

How about..... NOW!

How. About. Now?

No? Not yet?

Now?

No, not at all, still funny! You're not even close.

Sorry. I knew I shouldn't have put in any pictures of myself! :sad2:

:rotfl2:I was actually surprised at how few pictures of yourself you had. I found it dangerously low on selfies.

IRL I'm a morose, horrible excuse for a human being
who looks like a failed genetic experiment to cross Grumpy with Dopey.

And that's a bad thing? :confused3

True. I should look into this more.
Would the drugs cost offset the hotel cost, do you think?

I googled it and it's hard to say. Apparently prices vary, $60 to $150 per gram from what I saw. According to a few message boards it looks like half a gram per day would be sufficient depending on purity. That would be less than a hotel room, but if we factor in the cost of possible ER visits or rehab, maybe not such a great deal. There must be a cheaper way to stay up all night.

I wish!
It means 8 more in front of me!
The four in the room who are getting in last day park activities
before they head home
and the four who are in the park having fun until their room is ready.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! You've ruined everything. I always took that as an indication of LESS people in the park, not more. Now I have to hate the tags hanging on other peoples' doors too. Like my list of things to hate wasn't long enough.

::yes:: Had a similar experience at Cedar Point with dueling coasters.
A lot of fun!

I've been wanting to go to Cedar Point for years. My son is finally old enough for bigger coasters so maybe soon. What was the best ride there?

(And no. Apparently they don't run the coasters
at the same time anymore on Dragon Challenge.
I believe someone was hit with debris from the other coaster.)

That was the whole point of the ride. Someone always ruins it for everyone.

You're supposed to know me well enough to just know!

Fine I'll just have to try harder. Reminds me of "Well if you don't know what you did wrong, I'm not going to tell you!"

Just paralyzed in bed for a couple days.
Made for a fun end of trip.

How did that happen?

Up until I got hurt, I loved it!
I'd love to go back (I feel I have unfinished business there)

Isn't that always the case? You never get everything you want done in one visit. What's still on your list?

but it has such bad memories for Ruby that she's reluctant to go.

I understand that. She's always going to associate Venice with injury even if it was something that could have happened anywhere. Unless of course you fell out of a gondola.

I'm a guy.
We always need reminding of that.
We're just not that smart.

I'll try to remind you more often then.

Hey Howdy Hey! I have been MIA again because we had a week of he** again at work. First day back from the holidsys, we had two count em, TWO no call no shows needing to be fired, as well as the computers being down. We are totally cloud based, so that was fun. I put in some 12 hour days, and I was exhausted, but managed to keep calm and carry on. We are implementing some stricter rules about time off - not sure if it will help or hurt the no show sitystion, but we have to try to take care of the ones who are reliable.

I was reading and planning fun comments, but no I'm drawing a blank. Sum of all thrills is something I have never paid attention to. Looks like we should have tried it! Sounds like it was a big hit with you two.

1. I will say DHS is next
2. 3 parks. You have to end up at MK

3. Corn nuggets at Casey's
4. 11:00 Kay wants to make the night last, you can sleep on the plane, you are making memories
5. Yes
6. No, you end up at CS or snacking

Okay, you can update now!

Oh, and your awesomeness is only exceeded by your writing ability.

The next update isn't even close to being done.
I've started... but just barely.

A trip report that never ends, Sum of all Standstills. ?????

Not gonna happen!

Gabriella from Via Napoli, Sum of all Refills.:rotfl2:

Oohh... I like that one.

It's such a shame - I really wanted to go your Voyageur festival in February....

It's no different than any other festival.
Except you die of exposure if you stay for more than a minute.

Pity I live at least 2 hours from the water :sad1:

Hence the problem.

Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!

That might be a while.
I'm on the night shift tonight.

Seems legit.

It's to compensate for all the spiders...

I thought you were psychic?

murray-1.gif

That's "psychotic".
You were close, though.

If I were there I'd be all like...

You'd still be cold.
You need a wind break, too.

oh and if you combine it with another Epcot attraction... Sum of all Thrillers....
ok that stinks but hey I tried.

I'm going to tell you this... but only because we're friends.

Yes. Yes, that stinks.
Sorry. It had to be said.

But I'll give you credit for trying, okay?
(It has to rhyme with "ills")

first of wonderful not to Nebo. His were the first trip reports I read on the dis and I followed over to yours from there.

That I know. You and I go way back. ::yes::

I so miss his writing and the banter.

You and me both.
You and me both.

It was like meeting Dis board royality when he and smidgy made it out here to our side of the world. Got to meet nebo, Smidgy, THumper and Lady h/

Man that's like the perfect DISmeet right there.

I was star struck. How bad you ask (yeah I know you didn't but.) nebo asks "so Betsey, which direction do you have to drive in from, I respond with uuummmmmmdddduuuhhh, yeah sounded like that but eventually I composed myself and said, about an hour give or take east/southish.

my daughter was concerned about having both lance and nebo in the same place as they are both a bit um shall we say accident magnets? lol

Please tell me that when the met they bonked heads or something!

mike and heather are just so darn cute too.

Never had the pleasure, but I couldn't imagine them as anything but darn cute!

MIss mike's rewriting of the song lyrics they were so funny, *ahem ahem thumperman hint hint hint*

Maybe I'll add one in to the next update.
I did a few too, but then Mike kept going and far outshone me.

ok so now back to my favorite Canadian and leader of our harem,

Who's that?
Oh! It's me!

is it too late to get my guesses in?

Nope! Go ahead!

gotta go back a read a few more pages of banter but don't want to miss my window of opportunity here I mean I am soooooooo killing it right now (yeahhh)

I've heard you've been getting some wet down there.

Er... uh.... I wasn't really planning on one.
I don't know....

That's ok, it reached its high point on The Office years ago so you don't really need to adopt it now. Although it's still funny to me. I probably use it more often that I should.

Of course you do.
You're a naughty, naughty little girl.
I would expect no less.

No, not at all, still funny! You're not even close.

Dang.
Must. Try. Harder.

:rotfl2:I was actually surprised at how few pictures of yourself you had. I found it dangerously low on selfies.

Didn't want to break the camera.
Or lose readers.

And that's a bad thing? :confused3

It ain't good!

Hmmm.... Wouldn't chugging energy drinks be cheaper?

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! You've ruined everything. I always took that as an indication of LESS people in the park, not more. Now I have to hate the tags hanging on other peoples' doors too. Like my list of things to hate wasn't long enough.

The truth shall set you free.
Unfortunately, it also hurts.

I've been wanting to go to Cedar Point for years. My son is finally old enough for bigger coasters so maybe soon. What was the best ride there?

Probably the only one we didn't go on.
Top Thrill Dragster.
Unfortunately, it was down the entire day due to high winds.
It finally opened up right at park close.
When I saw the line (plus I was beat!!!) we passed it by.

Otherwise, easily it was Millennium Force for adrenalin
and Gemini (2 coasters race side by side) for fun.

That was the whole point of the ride. Someone always ruins it for everyone.

It's all fun in games until someone loses an eye.
Then it's hilarious.

How did that happen?

I wrote about it in my Euro TR.
Unfortunately, the links got broken in the move to the new DIS boards.

In a nutshell.... I did something incredibly stupid.

I bent over.

Isn't that always the case? You never get everything you want done in one visit. What's still on your list?

Luckily we did a lot on our first day out of two.
(I hurt myself the next morning.)
We did a lot that first day.
But I'd like to visit San Marco on the inside.
And what I was really looking forward to was Murano.
I love glass sculpture and was hoping to buy some there.

I understand that. She's always going to associate Venice with injury even if it was something that could have happened anywhere. Unless of course you fell out of a gondola.

I wish. At least that would've been memorable.

I'll try to remind you more often then.

That's your job from now on.

Hey Howdy Hey!

Hi Tammie! :)

I have been MIA again because we had a week of he** again at work. First day back from the holidsys, we had two count em, TWO no call no shows needing to be fired, as well as the computers being down.

What???
What's with that? (The people I mean. Not the 'puters.)
They just don't show?
Are they independently wealthy and just don't need to work?
(I'm thinking... probably not.)

Sucks about the computers too.
Never any fun when that happens.
I'm lucky. If the computers go down,
while I do have to scramble,
not nearly as much as the techs do!

We are totally cloud based, so that was fun.

I thought that was supposed to make it easier?

I put in some 12 hour days, and I was exhausted, but managed to keep calm and carry on.

Atta girl.
But you must be beat!

We are implementing some stricter rules about time off - not sure if it will help or hurt the no show sitystion, but we have to try to take care of the ones who are reliable.

::yes:: Good luck with that.

I was reading and planning fun comments, but no I'm drawing a blank.

No worries. You've had a rough week.

Sum of all thrills is something I have never paid attention to. Looks like we should have tried it! Sounds like it was a big hit with you two.

Well, we really liked it.
YMMV, of course.
But... give it a whirl!

1. I will say DHS is next
2. 3 parks. You have to end up at MK
3. Corn nuggets at Casey's
4. 11:00 Kay wants to make the night last, you can sleep on the plane, you are making memories
5. Yes
6. No, you end up at CS or snacking

Noted.

Okay, you can update now!

 It'll be a while, still.

Oh, and your awesomeness is only exceeded by your writing ability.

 Oh, you flatterer, you!

Nifty?
Sure. We can go with that.
A few more hits of that Rx and it'll be "awesomflee."
:rotfl:

Both perhaps?
maybe.

:lmao: You're realllly enjoying that medicine, aren't you?
Its funny I've never had a reaction like that to meds before. However after 3 or 4 doses it made my dreams go REALLY weird! (I'll save you the details from the dream about people, {not zombies} eating the brains of Monks while vampires danced in the distance.:rolleyes2)

No. That was yesterday.
:rotfl:

I think it's hysterical!
You should get sick more often!
Pass! There wasn't much fun to be had. At least the meds work fairly quickly.

I can totally see.... this:
Guy walks into the Japanese teppanyaki restaurant.
"Hello sir, can I take your order? I recommend the filet and lobster special."
"No thanks. I'll just have rice."
He then takes a wrapped, raw beef patty out of his pocket,
unwraps it and tosses it on the grill.

I wouldn't put it past people. They really have some nerve. Boy do I want Teppanyaki!

I tend to do similar.
I'll pop over to someone's TR because of comments.
But lately, even if I want to... I just don't have the time to add any more!

I don't seem to have the sense to limit myself and just keep piling them on. I'm lucky that lots of folks are busy and not posting often.

Your flights are what... about five hours?
Yeah, I guess I can see that.
But, even when I drive (30 hours, not including stops) I still haven't spent much time there.
But that's more a function of my vacation time being eaten up by the drive.
Which is okay. I like to drive and enjoy the journey.

Not just the 5 hour flight but you take into account that we have to be there two hours early. It also takes an hour to get to the airport and then factor in the stressful little to no sleep the night before....Plus we are lucky enough to be able to set our own vacation time schedule, the biggest factor is our kitties and how much we miss them.

7am.
But since it's an international flight, Disney insists on getting you there even earlier.
You'll see how that worked out.

Ugh. That's awful early to leave from vacation. Our next flight leaves for vacation at 5AM. We may just end up staying up all night.

Oh, well... let me amend my comment to more truly reflect what transpired:

Mine goes like this:
"Darlin' do you want to get up?"
""Give me about 30 minutes."
"Are you ready to get up yet?"
"I'm waking up. I'm waking up. Give me a few more minutes."
"Did you want to get up."
"I'm working on it."
Eventually she gets up.
"Why didn't you just pull the covers off me and get me up?"
:faint:

You can still change your guess if you want to.

But even if I got it right the points may not even help because the penalty might be so high. Besides who say you don't wait an hour for the DUD bus?

Yep, used those too. Paraphrased, but... yep.

No, no you didn't. I went back and looked. There was no mention of musical instruments, or the words shrill and especially not trills!

Do they charge for the water?

Not tap water, but you have to ask for it, and they only bring it to those who ask. If everyone at the table wants it you need to say, "can we get water for the whole table please?"

So Cal is as expensive as a theme park??
Oh, of course... So Cal is a theme park!

There are places where you can get deals, but I live at the beach so that may have something to do with it. I can guarantee you that there are places in So Cal that are NOTHING like an amusement park.

::yes:: I have a wife too, ya know!

:rotfl2:

Chocolate doesn't last that long around my place.
It's considered a rare and endangered species.

Yeah well after we bought more than anyone should eat, we had a little "thing", where I was told, "Fine, it's all yours I won't eat any." :snooty: However three weeks later when I've got it stashed in the pantry at home it started to mysteriously "disappear".

Interesting.
We lived for a few years in a town with Postal Code R0B0W0
or as we called it Robo-wo.
That feeling you get when your robot lets you down.

Wow! Postal codes sound like they have the potential to be way more fun than zip codes!

You're unusually well traveled in Canada I think.
Most Canadians haven't been to as many spots!

Huh. Had no idea.

Wish granted!

:goodvibes:

 -20?? -20???? :lmao: No! Don't be silly! That's crazy!
Right now, as I write, it's -26.

-20. I wish!

That's crazy talk! How do people LIVE like that?????

is there a link for your tr?

Thank you! Pkondz linked you to my most recent one. There is also a link in my signature to my "Sharing the Disney Magic" TR which includes my travels to DL this past year. It started out as it was going to be a TR for WDW until my other half broke her leg in two places and we had to cancel less than a month away. In that TR you'll find pics of all the things going away tomorrow. We saw Aladdin in Nov. Ate at the BBQ. Saw Fantasmic! I rode the train on Friday before the lines got crazy long.

Read your post earlier this week -Thanks! It was last week with daughter before going back to college yesterday. Back to enjoying my Sunday Disney time in my jammies.
So many pages of banter I might go back to post.
It turned out that Nebo wrote TRs.
And darned good ones too.
I went to look up some of his TRs and have one saved to start reading. I mean I'll have to do something when this one ends:( Of course I'll be missing you & a contest the whole time I'm reading it. OOOH but if I look at some of the
banter, it might include you too!
i.e. It's his fault!!!
:lovestruc Thanks Nebo.
I guess I was under the mistaken belief
that most of you had followed me from there.
Nope. I found you (you were lost before then-remember?) when you were posting comments on another TR (Shannon? from Chicago with little girl) and thought you were quite witty. Saw that you had wrote TR and started to read them. It was about a year ago because while looking at them you did your solo trip!
Big score for me, got to follow at the beginning. At the end I left lurkedom and some of my first ever posts were there. You're my Nebo, you got me posting and I don't seem to stop. It's your fault now
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
You're welcome. Thanks you again for doing this TR :love1:That's from the harem.
Our DUD* info.
That sucks! But right now I actually wish I could see that. It would mean my trip to Disney would have finally come true. I would be taking that and hopefully lots of memories!
What time do we need to be at the front desk tomorrow?

2:45am.
I'll be on the road at that time Monday to be at work at 3AM. Don't think that would bother me, but to end a vacation at that time would not be what I'd want.
By now, you may have guessed what our first ride was.
And yet, not many of you guessed it when it counted!
Dang, I've never seen this (once again doubt it was there 10 years ago) but have heard people mention it. Don't remember who guessed it, but thought , maybe I'd like to change answer to that instead of the Land.
DISNEYMOON10121991 - AM, Via Napoli, Land, TT, 3 - 9 points
FYI, I did change it to something other than the Land. Remember I was being naughty on my way to work with crazy thoughts of you and what else you would ride. Guess it wasn't a Segway. Do they still have it in Innoventions?
Thought I'd get points jumping that high out of the box:Pinkbounc and hitting the ceiling for that one. I'm getting bruises from this game.
We boarded our... uh... seats? car? device?
And got strapped in.
Very interesting. I couldn't tell, is there anything in front of you visually? What do you see?
Hmmm... Maybe she's trying to tell me something.
Sheesh. Some things never change...
Somethings don't but boy sometimes they do. Some good and some we just don't seem ready for. My girl was 18 in Aug. and you're happy/scared for their independence all at the same time.
Saw the current Kay in car posing like a few others do, then scroll down...awww little Kay. Gave me a smile. Would have loved to see a lot more flashbacks, they were fun!
over to Italy and announced ourselves to the host at Via Napoli.
Hear ye! Hear Ye! Announcing Sir Pkondz and his lovely daughter Princess Kay
It got to the point where I was a little afraid
to take a sip of water for fear of running her off her feet!
Doesn't she know running with water she might spill. You prefer your water brought to you by sashaying. I'm pretty sure I read a person having a similar thing happen while at that restaurant but with a male server. I'll have to check.
Kay had the Pepperoni
First thing I saw was Mickey pepperoni! It's always fun to find hidden Mickeys. At work I need to rubber-band bundles of letters often, so I have a small pile of them on my desk. Once in awhile (if you can picture this) one can be
laying there with a twist and I see hidden Mickey! I think I was excited and made a comment to a co-worker who of course just gave me the 'yea I don't get your Disney craziness' look. Really?..what's a hidden Mickey?
I think Kay had the vanilla gelato while I had the lemon sorbet
Wow never thought of vanilla gelato. My go to one every year at fair is Pistachio gelato.
so a visit to Karamell Kuche was in order.
A little late getting that. You were suppose to get this instead of the not up to par shaved ice. Which was better?
I talk to three random strangers,
on three separate days.
Three for three I guess. Not very friendly are you. Talk to only three people. Did you ignore all the others? Would have been fun to actually meet someone from at least somewhere else interesting.

In the eyes of my child... I'm the MAN!
You da Man! On the computer too!

So, quick story about something that happened yesterday. On break coworker was reading out loud a section of newspaper that was a quiz. It's in there everyday (9 ?s different levels) and sometime we'll see how many we get.
Subject was countries. One was, Where would you find Casa Loma? DingDingDing! I know this! Canada! I'm sure she was impressed on my knowledge. Of course if I'd try to explain, you my Canadian friend, Trip reports, DisBoard etc. I'd get that... Shelly and her Disney again look.
So I'm giving you 20 point for going to Casa Loma and sharing with us. I never ask for point but you are welcome to return the favor:laughing:
That's because you are the most gracious person I know from Canada!

1. Obvious one. Which park are we heading out to next?
Good golly. Obvious one, thanks for the pressure of being right. I'm going with AK
Number of parks done this last day, 2, 3 or 4?
Keep going, you can do 3 parks

Hope you don't mind but I found and copied the story about another server at VN:

While we were eating the salad, there was another worker in the restaurant, Luigi, who was busting his behind. He was going to and from all the tables cleaning them up and getting them ready for the next guests. He would also stop and refill drinks. He was one hard working dude.

Here in the South, when a man sees another man, they will sometimes just slightly nod their head at one another. Kind of a "hello" or "what's up". Well, Luigi, thought that John's nod meant "Come over to our table. I need something." He hurried over and asked what we needed and we told him that we didn't need anything but thank you.

Luigi happened to look up and he must have thought John wanted something and he started to come over. I told John to think of something quickly when Luigi asked what he needed. John said some parmesan cheese. Luigi was back in a jiffy grading cheese before John could give another nod.

Luigi was cleaning the table next to us when our pizzas were brought out and I made a quiet comment to our servers that he was a hard worker and very attentive even though we weren't technically Luigi's table. They said that he was always flitting about and he was, indeed, a hard worker. When Luigi heard the server say his name, he came over. Bless his heart! I didn't want Luigi to think that we were complaining about him so we all told him that we were giving him praise for his hard work. Luigi's smile lit up the room.

Our servers made sure that our food was okay and left us to enjoy our dinner. At one point, John happened to glance Luigi's way and I said "Are you crazy? Stop making eye contact!" John laughed and said that this is how he was going to stay for the rest of the time we were there: Showing picture of husband with hands covering his eyes.
