Whew! You've been busy over here and just trying to get caught up lol

Hi Kathy!

I found communication in MK to be difficult...the reception wasn't always good and sometimes text messages took forever...a bit annoying at times.

I never did get those emails through to Marie.
I did get some emails saying they were "undelivered".
Must've copied down the email wrong or something.

But it all worked out in the end.

Courtney's worked fine, though.
A little slow... but they worked.

This is the coolest thing!!

I never thought I'd see that in person.
Pictures? Yes. IRL? No.

No but actually I wish I could see that - might actually make me not too chicken to go on the ride!!!

It's actually a pretty tame coaster.
The fun is it's in the dark.
And if that bothers you...
Kay said that because she sat in front, she could see the track
and always knew what was coming.

That's really cool...love the Disney details!

Yummm That looks so good. I'm a sucker for some peanut butter sauce on ice cream.

Crystal Palace always has yummy food, though for character dining I prefer 1900 park fare!

I asked a CM tasked with shooing people away

how long he thought it might be down.

He didn't really know, but he did have an excellent suggestion.


"If you ride the PeopleMover." He said.

"You can see Space Mountain with the lights on."


I looked at Kay, she looked at me... "Let's go!" We said in unison.

Don’t you just love helpful CMs?

What can I say about 7DMT.

It's a coaster... so that's a good thing.

But sometimes it's more like a dark ride,

reminiscent of the old Snow White's Scary Adventure.

And that's okay... but I'd prefer full coaster.

And as a coaster... well, it's pretty tame.

Don't get me wrong.

I rode it. Had fun.

But it's not a priority.

BTMRR. That's a priority!

I could not agree with you anymore. BTMRR for the win!

Kay had said she wanted a buffet meal

and I didn't know for sure if we'd be done with MK yet or not

(I guessed correctly. Points for me! Say Yay! and you'll get points!)

So that's how we wound up with an ADR for Crystal Palace.

Yay!!!!!

Soon we were heading in to meet.... HER.

So I had to "explain" it to her a little more clearly.

I gently showed her the error of her ways

and Ariel and I were able to gaze deeply into each other’s eyes.




Notice how Ariel's hand is possessively clutching my arm?

It's obvious, isn't it?

We were meant to be.


The photographer didn't seem thrilled with the picture,

so he made us take a more "traditional" shot.

So what to do?

HM of course!

So we zipped over and rode, with no wait at all.

Sweet.

We then popped into Memento Mori to check it out.

Kay was pushing for me to get my photo done,

but there were people ahead of us and it would've

eaten up half an hour.

Maybe next time.

Pop over to Splash and.... 25 minutes wait?

Oh, we can do that! Easy!

Except it wasn't.

It took twice that time.

50 minutes in line for Splash!

At least the sun was gone so it wasn't quite as unbearable as earlier.

Ouch. Almost as bad when I lined up to meet Cindy with a 30 minute wait which turned out to be closer to 90!

We got in our log and got ready to sail off.

I looked up again at the roof and "lightning".


It was right about then, that I noticed, for the first time,

that the loading area is open to the sky.


Yep. That was real lightning.


I never said I was smart.

A smart-a... uh... smart-alec, sure.

This will come into play a few days later.

Ominous.

Beaches and Cream!

This had been a looooong time on my Disney wish list.

I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure it was #1 on the list.

And finally I made it!

With Kay! My ice cream eating comrade in arms!

(Ruby's not a fan, Elle doesn't ask for it very often)


When I told Kay about this place and showed her a picture

of the Kitchen Sink, this became a priority for her too.

But it wasn't easy finding an open ADR time for this.

The only time in our entire stay, was now.

(Shortly before we came, another one opened up for later in the week)


So we came knowing we were going to order the Kitchen Sink.

And now that we were here!!!!

We just weren't feeling it.


Let me just refresh your memories here.

BOG with Master's cupcake.

CP with buffet table of desserts.

Nope. Just not feeling like trying to eat a dessert meant for six.


So we turned and left.

Kay ordered the Fudge Mudslide while I had the No Way Jose.

Which (after the Sink) was #1 on my list.




OMG... Soooooo good!!!!!!!

We did not come close to finishing them.

And I do not regret having it over the Kitchen Sink one bit.

Besides... gotta keep some things for next time, right?

You made an excellent choice there sir. Perhaps after our carpet ride we can share one?

I asked the CM at the valet stand to call us a cab

and it arrived fairly quickly.

(I did not note the time... because this was not Disney transportation)

It only took a few minutes to get from Beach Club to Pop.

The total cab fare was $9.00. Not bad at all.

Especially considering the convenience.

I handed the driver a twenty and told him to give me $10 back.


He didn't have any change.

Is it just me? Or is that weird? For a cab driver?

I did happen to have a five and four singles on me, though.

But that was it.

I apologized for not being able to leave a tip, but what can you do?

This is why I use Uber. Cheaper and the tip is already built into the price.

Another update when I truly needed a great laugh. Your timing is impeccable. Well our sickness spread to all the kids and our baby, 13 months old, has been in the hard part of it the last two days

Reading your report at the wee hours at night has kept me sane.

I've always thought of my report as being read either
a. on the toilet or
b. when insomnia strikes and you need something dull to lull you to sleep.

I even got to the point to put him in the car and do a couple laps around the block at 12:30 at night (don't judge, works like a charm).

Judge??? I've done it!

While driving a deer dashed across the street playing kamakozi. Luckily I was only going 15 mph and saw him in time, but still.

I was driving to work one morning and was on the highway doing about 60mph/100kmh
when I topped a rise to see three deer standing in the road.
I immediately hit the brakes, released the brakes to swerve and...

Well, I almost made it. One of them bolted right in front of the car.
Broken front quarter panel, headlight, windshield and side mirror torn off.

I had just passed another car a few seconds earlier and he saw the whole thing.
(Was nice enough to check on me to see if I was okay.)
He said the deer stumbled off the road. Can't imagine it survived.

Anyways, have you ever felt like a human tissue?

and yuck.

I think we're over the hard part. I got four straight hours of sleep last night.

This reminded me of a time my family was at Fantasia Mini Golf. My twin sister hit the ball so hard it bounced in the pond. My dad magically retrieved it without her seeing and it bounced perfectly back on the course and into the hole. She literally thought it was Disney Magic. I guess you had to be there, but it is still something we talk about today. Her face and reaction was priceless. We all had a good laugh at her expense.

You are doing a good job as a parent. I think it's very good to teach chilvary. When I take the kids to swimming sometimes if I don't get there early enough there are no seats. It's amazing how no one gets up to offer seats anymore. I had a newborn last year and I would walk in with all five kids and the men would look at me and then put their heads down and focus on their phones. It's nice to hear that chivalry is not dead. It's also great that you lead by example. I'm sure you might not have noticed, but there may have been a few older kids on the bus that saw you do that and you taught them a lesson on kindness.

Never thought of that. Maybe someone else did see me get up and it stuck.
Who knows.
But it's a nice thought.

And that's just wrong.
I don't care what it says on the brochure.
It was originally the WEDway Peoplemover.
While I'm not overly averse to change,
taking Walt's initials out is definitely not the right way to go!
If you're going to change it,
possibly because people don't know what WED stands for,
then name it the Walter Elias Disney Peoplemover!

I made sure to tell her to always give up your seat for those more in need.
I just wanted to make sure I was doing my job as a parent.
But she thought I was scolding her.
Meh. She was tired, so I let her be a bit cranky.
I told her that I knew she was sore, so not to worry.
I was more worried that I hadn't told her this before.
Apparently I had (yay me!) but she was just too sore to stand.

This will come into play a few days later.

I was driving to work one morning and was on the highway doing about 60mph/100kmh
when I topped a rise to see three deer standing in the road.
I immediately hit the brakes, released the brakes to swerve and...

Well, I almost made it. One of them bolted right in front of the car.
Broken front quarter panel, headlight, windshield and side mirror torn off.

I had just passed another car a few seconds earlier and he saw the whole thing.
(Was nice enough to check on me to see if I was okay.)
He said the deer stumbled off the road. Can't imagine it survived.

Crazy deer. So glad you were ok. A deer can do some serious damage on a car. That was really nice that someone stopped to see if you were ok. I know I would have been pretty shaken up.

and yuck.

Haha. I thought it would make you laugh. I pick him up while holding a tissue in my hand and EVERY time he wipes his face across my shirt. I guess I'm lucky that my child is so unique. I can't tell you how much laundry I've gone through.

But you're all growed up now.
Go out and buy a sack of sugar and stick your whole face in it.
Fill your mouth with sugar and just walk around like that until
either the sugar or your teeth dissolve.

Not for a bit.
I've been tabulating the scores as I go,
but the DIS lost it the other day.
I still have them, but at work and I won't be there until Friday.
I have some catching up to do with the points, though,
but at least I'm not starting from scratch.

Probably will start editing photos either tomorrow or Friday night,
then start writing...
Probably only after the weekend.
Hoping to have the next chapter out by Remembrance day.

oh man no points on that last round I need pick up my game a bit here.
so I figure Kay is pretty tuckered out so she gets up at 10 am ish (figure that should cover me for around a 15 minute window either way lol)
thinking you went to tappan edo (is it still called that? just don't touch the hot cooking surface lol *do I get points for remembering that one of our all time favorite dissers did that?)
thinking that test track cost you time even with a fast pass and you finally got that grey goose slushie.
and thing you do use the park hoppers today

really like that pic of space. I have never seen it with the lights on on either coast and that is saying something since I have been riding the one out here since it opened in 77 (looking forward to seeing what they are going to do for the starwars overlay) so that was one great shot.

so since this update is a couple of days early will we still be getting a chapter on wed?(just kidding I know it takes you tons of time to get these chapters just right for our reading pleasure)
tomorrow night we are heading to DL. taking scarlett to see the fireworks and ride IASW holiday (that is what happens when you have grandkids you ride iasw. out here they put a holiday overlay on it and really put a great light show on the front. we even have scarlett say hi ponzie when we see the rcmp that represents Canada lol

When I was a teen, I rode the crazy mouse with my best friend
at the local fair.
I reached up and touched a passing cross beam.
The electric jolt travelled down my arm and into the seat,
zapping both of us.
Not the most pleasant of experiences.

Kidding aside, when I first rode it last February no my solo trip,
I FPd it twice.
I'm glad I did, since I hadn't ridden it before, but...
I also regretted not riding BTMRR more.
In the future... it's possible that I might not FP it at all.
Rope drop provided me with more than enough time to ride it.
And once/trip is enough.
Not so, BTMRR.

Because she's growing up into a cold, heartless, cynical adult. Just like the rest of us!
