Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

"If you ride the PeopleMover." He said.
"You can see Space Mountain with the lights on."

WHAT!! Really?? I had no idea. I would never even think about this. Something to keep in mind for a future trip. Is it wrong to hope that Space Mountain goes down so I can see the lights on??

Yes. I know it might be known to you as
the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.
And that's just wrong.

I agree with you, completely. The name should never have been changed. Of course, in my answer to your question, I did call it the TTA Peoplemover. I'm a little bit OCD and have have a thing about using proper names. It's a real conflict. I think a fairy loses her wings when I do stuff like that

Doesn't really look like a coaster, does it?
Looks more like some kind of widgets factory.

Awesome picture! I'm thinking that Space Mountain would be a bit scarier with the lights on. I mean, how does a roller coaster even fit in that mess?? :scared1:

I rode it. Had fun.
But it's not a priority.
BTMRR. That's a priority!

Yep, just what I thought, too. It will never replace BTMRR.

I enjoyed watching it again and Kay did too.
For some reason, she didn't reach up and try to grab the gems
like she did when she was four.
Wonder why not?

I think all little girls do this. I know mine did. Kind of makes me wish they would stay that way :sad1:

I'm on vacation! Calories don't count!
Unfortunately, at a buffet, while the calories might not count,
a sugar overload is a definite possibility.
It's a slippery slope from "I'll just have one..."
to "I'll just have one of each..."
to "I'll just take each tray."

The dessert is the best part of a buffet. I sometimes think "why am I eating chicken when I really just want to eat my weight in chocolate". I tend to guilt myself into eating a small plate of "healthy stuff" to make up for the damage I do later. On vacation, one piece of lettuce = half a chocolate cake, right?

But she also noticed (I did not) that they weren't just
horseshoes.
They were Maximus' shoe prints (from Tangled.)

Good eye! Something else I didn't know. That's two things I've learned today. Hmm...what does that mean...

Kay ordered the Fudge Mudslide while I had the No Way Jose.
Which (after the Sink) was #1 on my list.

Excellent choices. I went there on my last trip for the first time. I had the Mudslide and my wife had the Jose. I need to go back and try the Jose. I would have asked my wife for a taste, but I try not to get between her and any chocolate-peanut butter-ice cream dessert - it would not be a pretty situation.

Bonus questions, round 6!
We're off to the last park we haven't seen yet!
Epcot!

What time does Kay wake up?
Hint: It ain't early.

What ride do we go on that costs us time
because we FP'd it?

What drink has been on my list for ages...
And I finally drink (for the first time.)

We have park hoppers.
Do we use them today?

And finally... lots of choices here.
Where's our Dinner ADR for?

Random guess time:
10:17

Test Track (going with the flow here, assuming that you got in FP line but then ride stopped for weather)

Grey Goose slush in France (it's on my list too)

No (you want to watch Illuminations after dinner)

Via Napoli (yes, another popular answer, but I figured pizza...teenager...kind of makes sense)

"If you ride the PeopleMover." He said.
"You can see Space Mountain with the lights on."

I looked at Kay, she looked at me... "Let's go!" We said in unison.

Hooray for the PeopleMover! Double hooray for seeing the inner workings of Space Mountain!

Courtney!! (aka @courtneybelle on the DIS)

You had a chance to meet Courtney - fabulous!

I rode it. Had fun.
But it's not a priority.

I agree with your assessment with 7DMT. I enjoyed it and thought it was well done, but it didn't come close to cracking into my top favorites.

Those guys up on the posts look familiar?
They used to be inside the aforementioned Snow White ride.

Fun! I'll have to keep an eye out for this next time!

And try as I might, I still haven't gotten a decent picture from inside the ride!
Oh, well, here's what I did manage

I think your pictures are pretty darn good! They're certainly better than mine!

I'm on vacation! Calories don't count!

That's my theory! :thumbsup2

Unfortunately, at a buffet, while the calories might not count,
a sugar overload is a definite possibility.
It's a slippery slope from "I'll just have one..."
to "I'll just have one of each..."
to "I'll just take each tray."

:rotfl:

I think you and I would get along quite well...

DESSERTS. GIVE ME ALL THE DESSERTS!!! :hyper:

I gently showed her the error of her ways
and Ariel and I were able to gaze deeply into each other’s eyes.

Oh my gosh, your first picture with Ariel is HILARIOUS! Major win! :thumbsup2

They were Maximus' shoe prints (from Tangled.)

Awesome! Way to go, Kay! I'll have to look for this next time...

Beaches and Cream!

YAY!!! I got one right! :yay:

And for the new questions:

1. Kay gets up at 10:30.

2. The Seas with Nemo costs you time.

3. You finally drink a Grey Goose Slush.

4. No park hopping.

5. You had dinner at Via Napoli.

Yeah! What gives?
I mean if you were house hunting or something I could forgive you...
Indeed!

I was thinking of the line "My brother from another mother"
and came up with "My sister from another mister!"

And that just sounds terrible!!

So... just... yeah.
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

:goodvibes See? Aren't you glad you sifted through all that garbage
to get that one nugget of worthwhile information?
While I have sifted through plenty of garbage this week, (Why someone thought a house decked out in blue carpet and kitchen appliances that should have died 10 years ago :crazy2: is worth 300k I will never understand) none of said garbage was found in your update. It was a rather refreshing mix of intellegent words and witty banter. ( Just what I needed too)

Then get crackin' lady!
I'm Trying!!!! It's not like DH and I are in the middle of buying our first home..... Oh wait....:P

Nice update, even if you did some of the wrong activities according to my guesses. At least I got dessert right.

Fun pic with Ariel! I'll bet she does put her arm through the guest's just to keep track of that hand. Not that she couldn't trust you, of course:rotfl:
So SM with the lights on. Makes one kind of silly for being scared or extremely thrilled, huh? Except it looks like you are held up by scaffolding. Maybe I will be more frightened next time.

Fun DIS meet! Too bad it was so short. Courtney is so lucky to be in the college program.

CP was on my radar, but I was pretty sure neither of you were into Pooh! Guess I was right about that, but you are into eating. I wonder how often Tigger gets Dissed at his own gig? :rotfl2:
Thanks for the bonus points, it just proves what an awesome host you are!

Beaches and Cream is an excellent choice! Who can say no to ice cream? Back when we took our first trip to the world in 1997, the No Way was 8 scoops of ice cream. We had a group of 7 who didn't quite finish it. The kitchen sink was something we looked forward to for a larger group. Now the No Way is a large Sunday and the KS isn't much bigger than the old No Way. :goodvibes we did the sink with 6 of us quite easily in May. Two of them were little boys. Funny how things go down in size but the price stays the same.

I will be back with guesses. I need to go back and read the questions again.

Okay, here goes:

Kay needed her beauty sleep so she got up at 9:30 Epcot opened at 9. It's okay, you planned for this,

Test Track took your time. It always seems to have delays, and creating your car slows down the line.

No park hopping today, this is a big park!

I will vote for the Grey Goose slushy. i was tempted to say the jalapeño marg in the ditch, but probably not a good venue for Kay.

YOU WIN DAD OF THE YEAR!!!!

Dinner was at Le Cellier, because Canada and meat.

Oh man! I reached the end, so far! :scared: We leave for WDW in 16 days, toting along my 14 year old DS and 7 year old DD and I'm getting so many (good?) tips for making the most of a trip with a sulky-at-times teen.

Nope. Because then they'd demand it of me!

You mean you're not being perfect?

Whoa! Remind me to not get on your bad side!

No, you're a nice guy so I don't anticipate anything like that happening... but you've been warned.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say she doesn't know.

Why? Because I do!

YAY!! Bonus points for you then. Not that it means anything. I don't have a prize to give out but if I did you would be in first place.

OMG! :lmao: Too funny!
And she didn't see the irony in that, right?

Wait, I don't really see the irony either, I thought it was a perfectly cromulent idea! It would be fun to read what people wrote, like being at your own funeral where everyone says nice things about you even if they don't mean it.

Hmmmm.... You heard it here first, folks!

YAY!! I get to be the reader who makes all the other readers do more work. And no, I wasn't the kid in school who reminded the teacher that she forgot to give us homework.

Why are only some of your quotes in blue? How is it possible that I'm still not doing this right?

I suspect... could be wrong... but I suspect Disney frowns on
guests setting fire to their property.
Sometimes I think Disney is a little too fussy about stuff like that.

:scratchin Yeah, I gotta think about that one.

::yes:: Yep. Pretty sure they frown on it.

The good news? There was no wait whatsoever!
The bad news? There was no wait because the ride was down.

:sad2:

"If you ride the PeopleMover." He said.
"You can see Space Mountain with the lights on."

That must be their line. Everyone always says the peoplemover has no wait. I always forget to ride it. At least recently.

While I'm not overly averse to change,
taking Walt's initials out is definitely not the right way to go!

Walt's name/initials really should be on most things!

Okay. Now that we're chillin' n' stylin',
let's take a short tour of Tomorrowland, shall we?

Nice shoe shot. Is this the obligatory shot?

It wasn't three o'clock yet, so I suggested taking a spin on COP.
Kay was game.... I told her it was air conditioned.

Or you could have watched the 3:00 parade....

I clicked off a quick reply "On COP right now. Christmas scene."

This is so ironic.

Even though it was hot, we're smiling.
Probably because she has her hand on my bum.

She said she was stopping at Starbucks...
Where's her drink?

In that heat, I'm sure that she sucked it down in moments!

I rode it. Had fun.
But it's not a priority.

That's about how I feel about it.

And try as I might, I still haven't gotten a decent picture from inside the ride!

You made me go back and look at my shots (which I thought were pretty decent), but looking back they aren't. I can't wait to try out my lens there next month. Hey I can't wait to leave for Disneyland TODAY and try it out on a couple dark rides!

For some reason, she didn't reach up and try to grab the gems
like she did when she was four.
Wonder why not?

Good question!

(I guessed correctly. Points for me! Say Yay! and you'll get points!)

Yay for you! :yay:

But I'm trying to eat here, okay?

See now if Tigger, Eeyore, or any other character at that buffet were coming my way, I would put down whatever I was eating. And I'm one of those people whom you do NOT want to get between me and my food.

You want to interact with pkondz?
Get a FP.

Does that apply to members of your harem?

I gently showed her the error of her ways
and Ariel and I were able to gaze deeply into each other’s eyes.

:rotfl2:

The photographer didn't seem thrilled with the picture,
so he made us take a more "traditional" shot.

Jerk.

I'm sure your wife like this one better.

We did not save the Galaxy.

I bet you beat my scores!

So what to do?
HM of course!
So we zipped over and rode, with no wait at all.
Sweet.

Nice.

But she also noticed (I did not) that they weren't just
horseshoes.
They were Maximus' shoe prints (from Tangled.)

I'm going to have to look for that one too!

It took twice that time.
50 minutes in line for Splash!

Wow! That's just way too long!

Kay ordered the Fudge Mudslide while I had the No Way Jose.
Which (after the Sink) was #1 on my list.

I think I'm going to have to order that Fudge Mudslide when I go there next month! It sounds awesome!

He didn't have any change.
Is it just me? Or is that weird? For a cab driver?

That is totally weird. I think he was trying to get you to hand over the $20.

What time does Kay wake up?
Hint: It ain't early.

I'm going to say 10:15

What ride do we go on that costs us time
because we FP'd it?

Test Track

What drink has been on my list for ages...
And I finally drink (for the first time.)

Well it's either the Margarita in Mexico or the Gray Goose Slushie. Let's go with the Gray Goose Slushie.

We have park hoppers.
Do we use them today?

No, she gets up too late.

And finally... lots of choices here.
Where's our Dinner ADR for?

I'm going to go with the crowds and say Rose and Crown.

I prefer Alison, actually. :goodvibes

You play the horn? Which one?

Mostly I play Alto Sax, but I have dabbled on others including flute, other saxes, trumpet, piano. But not the clarinet like it seems so many who were reading your last TR do. On an audition for Jazz Band in College, the instructor told me that I could use it as a weapon. I have been reluctant to play it since. :rotfl2:

I wanted to comment on so much more like how it's a miracle you survived your childhood with all those swimming accidents and how impressed I am that you did the scuba experience. How you overcame your fear is pretty admirable. I had a whole lot more compliments that I wanted to lay on thick, but I'm lucky to have found the time to comment this much on your TR! See ya later!

I'm goin' to Disneyland!

I suspect... could be wrong... but I suspect Disney frowns on
guests setting fire to their property.

I think you should try it next time and see what happens, just so we all know for sure.

Doesn't really look like a coaster, does it?
Looks more like some kind of widgets factory.

Cool picture! I think I've only seen it once with the lights on a long time ago. Too bad they don't let you ride it like that. Might be even scarier because you can see what you're about to crash into.

It wasn't three o'clock yet, so I suggested taking a spin on COP.
Kay was game.... I told her it was air conditioned.

Haa haa! That's the main reason most people go into it. We were at the Halloween party this year waiting for a picture with Lotso (on my must do list). The in-laws said they were going to ride COP while we waited for our picture. I thought they were wasting precious party time doing something they could do with a short wait any day. They do things like that all the time. They waited in a really long line, that turned out to be for candy! LMAO. The ride was closed. Funniest thing that happened all night.

Even though it was hot, we're smiling.
Probably because she has her hand on my bum.
Well, you can't see her other hand, can you? So...
It could be there.

I can't even see the picture! It's a little box. I'll assume that her hand really was on your butt. Where else would it be?

She also swings a baton and cracks heads for crowd control at parades.
I believe she said she actually prefers the latter,
because it gives her more chances to interact with guests.

Best job ever!

What can I say about 7DMT.
It's a coaster... so that's a good thing.
But sometimes it's more like a dark ride,
reminiscent of the old Snow White's Scary Adventure.
And that's okay... but I'd prefer full coaster.
And as a coaster... well, it's pretty tame.
Don't get me wrong.
I rode it. Had fun.
But it's not a priority.
BTMRR. That's a priority!

I feel the same way. It was cute the first few times but it's too tame. Even my son prefers BTM and Splash. I like the video that you get though. I would still ride it at least once per trip.

For some reason, she didn't reach up and try to grab the gems
like she did when she was four.
Wonder why not?

Oh no!! Maybe she can't see 3D anymore. Don't worry, she didn't outgrow it!

(I guessed correctly. Points for me! Say Yay! and you'll get points!)

YAY!!!! Yay for you for guessing correctly.

Now I'm not big into characters (gasp!)
and neither is Kay (double gasp!)
So when a handler came over and asked if we wanted to meet Tigger...
We said no. (triple gasp!)

OMG!!!! You went to a character buffet FOR THE FOOD!!!!!!! The whole point of suffering through those meals is to get a cute picture with the characters. That's the best part. Although the pictures never turn out that well because of bad lighting and there's always some random people in the shot behind you. I forgive you for not getting any pictures. I can't judge. I ate at T-Rex. Worst Disney meal EVER. Possibly worst meal of any kind anywhere. Any time we have bad food now we comment that it's bad, but not "T-Rex bad".

I'm on vacation! Calories don't count!
Unfortunately, at a buffet, while the calories might not count,
a sugar overload is a definite possibility.
It's a slippery slope from "I'll just have one..."
to "I'll just have one of each..."
to "I'll just take each tray."

NO!!! calories really don't count when you're on vacation. It's a proven fact.

After supper, it was time for our next Fastpass.
And well, since Kay suggested it...
Practically forced me to do it, really...
We headed off to meet a very special someone.

Ahhhhh..... My princess.
Ariel. Complete with fish tail, of course.

I got it right!!! I guessed that you got the fast pass because Kay wanted it, but it was actually you!! HAAAA

And wouldn't you know it.
Kay just had to try and butt in!
I mean... what the heck? This is my princess!
Get your own!

Awesome picture!!! I guessed that you would take a scandalous picture with Ariel. Was she as drunk in person as she was on her ride?

Too soon, the photographer was shooing us out of the grotto.
Ariel didn't want me to leave and may have cried at my departure.
I had to be strong, for both of us.

It was not easy.

What if you just got another fast pass? You could have just gotten back in line repeatedly. I wonder how many pictures you would have to take before they cut you off? Or have you escorted out of the park? Project for your next trip.

Kay was pushing for me to get my photo done,
but there were people ahead of us and it would've
eaten up half an hour.
Maybe next time.

I'm surprised Kay didn't want anything else from that store. It has so many awesome things. I bought the picture with the hitchhiking ghosts.

Beaches and Cream!
This had been a looooong time on my Disney wish list.
I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure it was #1 on the list.
And finally I made it!

YAY I followed the crowd and got the right answer!!! I thought it was a weird choice since it would have made more sense to go there after your Epcot day. Did you take an "after" picture of the ice cream?

(I'm giving 2 points to anyone who said POTC was closed.
Kay did want to ride it and it was closed.)

Wait, you know you're giving people points for calling you a bad planner right? Since the ride was closed for months you would have known that so you wouldn't have tried to ride it, unless you were a bad planner. :rolleyes1

Saturn23 - Knows what to read - 6 points. Knows I have skilz - 2 points.

Thanks!!

Which is a good thing, since plan B involved me setting fire to something

I'm still trying to figure out why this was Plan B....

"If you ride the PeopleMover." He said.
"You can see Space Mountain with the lights on."

Been there, done that. Makes for a cool souvie photo!

Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover

Having grown up teething on DLR, it'll always be the PeopleMover to me.

But first (of course... one must do what one must do)

That makes me smile.

Even though it was hot, we're smiling.
Probably because she has her hand on my bum.
Well, you can't see her other hand, can you? So...
It could be there.

Coincidentally, we cannot see YOUR hand either.

(I guessed correctly. Points for me! Say Yay! and you'll get points!)

Yay!

You want to interact with pkondz?
Get a FP.

I assume you'll have to be present for me to redeem the one I just pulled, right? ;)

Ahhhhh..... My princess.

Pretty sure Kay was thinking SHE was your Princess.

Notice how Ariel's hand is possessively clutching my arm?

Was that BEFORE she saw your wedding ring? :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Yep. That was real lightning.

That was right about the time you started feeling like a Class A Doofus...

When a mother with toddler came on, I gave her my seat.

You're a better human than I am.

I had the No Way Jose.

You chose correctly. I approve.

I apologized for not being able to leave a tip

Why?

Bonus questions, round 6!
We're off to the last park we haven't seen yet!
Epcot!

What time does Kay wake up?
Hint: It ain't early.

10:05

What ride do we go on that costs us time
because we FP'd it?

Test Track

What drink has been on my list for ages...
And I finally drink (for the first time.)

Grey Goose Slush

We have park hoppers.
Do we use them today?

No.

And finally... lots of choices here.
Where's our Dinner ADR for?

Trying Teppan again.

Good luck!

I'll need it! My score tanked last round. So I"m hoping that a few suck-up points may be awarded because of your kind and big heart. That, and because it can be part of my DIS "I-just-paid-off-my-resort" Celebration Package.

Okay! Caught up again (well... I was up until Alison posted another update!)
so I can resume the shout-outs.
Let's go!

UGH! I knew this is what would happen. You post the update and then I go back home and real life sets in or worse, the refrigerator breaks down.

If you had just skipped that whole go back home thing and stuck to reading the update,
that never would've happened.

Just sayin'.

Plus I still haven't unpacked. I came over here to try and start to comment on your update and there were like two or three new pages of comments!

That happens.

And I wouldn't have it any other way. :goodvibes

Plus I've also been plowing through your last TR in order to get some hints on the bonus questions, but it looks like there aren't any.

Well... there might be. But they sure wouldn't be obvious.

Your best bet is to go back and read all of them. :rolleyes1

I will be back to comment on the update when I have a chance. For now I need to go tick off a few things on the long list I have made for myself of tasks to accomplish. And only 13 days until my parents arrive for Thanksgiving! :faint:

Move to Canada. Then you'd be looking at Thanksgiving in the rear view mirror.
We have it at a much more sensible time of year.

<points vaguely in a random direction>

Oh.

But I wanna go to Disney World!

Oh.... fine. Go.
See if I care.
But I hope you're happy when you're down there in Disney while I'm up here freezing.

Yeah, I read that comment too.... of course you'll be happy.

I figured I'd get the FP just to make sure I got to ride it, since it'll be new to me. But judging from the reviews, it's not going to replace BTMRR as a favorite. So I'll be happy to cross if off the list and then go back to the classics.:thumbsup2

I FPd it once and then rope dropped it on another day on my solo trip.
And that was about right.

I think for a first timer, you might want to ride it twice.
Once to "discover" it and another to really get a feel for it.

You'd have to burn down the clubhouse to get kicked out. But even then it's only if the guys have nothing better to do.

So I'm safe then. Gotcha.

I don't want a cigar, I want points!

(#Dadjoke -- Kay would approve)

Well.... okay. I was going to send you some Cohiba Esplendidos... but okay.

No... to get kicked out, you'd have to burn down the clubhouse and try to put out the fire with the beer. I'm pretty sure that would do it.

Please. Some things are sacrosanct.

#YesSheWould #DadJokesRock #HashtagsAreStupidButKidsTheseDaysLikeToUseThem

#IDon'tGetHashtagsAndImSecretlyGladIDont

11:15am

Test Track

Margarita in Mexico!

no, because Kay slept in.

Via Napoli

All noted!

Keep your arms, hands, legs and feet inside the ride vehicle at all times. And beware of emails flying to and fro...,

Those things will take an eye out!

So cool! I lucked out the one and only time we rode the peoplemover the SM lights were on!

 Some people ride it all the time and have never seen it.

Oh... and they all hate you now.

Kidding, of course!

(maybe)

Reminds me of the game Mousetrap

OMG, Yes! That's it!!!

I did not know that! You have educated me today!

I'm like the best school teacher ever, right?

Because you are bound and determined to have even more awesome leg muscles after this trip

Calves of steel, gut of lard.

Who doesn't want a yard stick full of sugar?? :confused3

Apparently, I didn't. Since I didn't get myself one!

What??? Poor Tigger's been snubbed

Don't worry, he'll bounce back.

Calories especially don't count when you are walking 74.3 miles a day!

That's what I use to justify... well... every edible wish I have at Disney.

Hey look at that! I got something right! :cool1:

You did!

Let me guess. Mmmmmmmm, you're going to Epcot? That is my feeble attempt at earning extra points

"Feeble"? So... I shouldn't award you some points?

10:15

I'll say Test Track

Avacaco margarita!! :drinking1

Yes! Why not!

Tough one, so many choices. But I'll go with Coral Reef

Noted.

WHAT!! Really?? I had no idea.

::yes::

I would never even think about this. Something to keep in mind for a future trip. Is it wrong to hope that Space Mountain goes down so I can see the lights on??

Nope! Because I've done that!
I distinctly remember going on WEDway with the family when they were too little to ride SM.
I recall telling DW about how I was hoping that SM would be down so we could see it with the lights on.
It wasn't, we didn't.

I agree with you, completely. The name should never have been changed.

Yep.

Of course, in my answer to your question, I did call it the TTA Peoplemover. I'm a little bit OCD and have have a thing about using proper names. It's a real conflict. I think a fairy loses her wings when I do stuff like that

I keep seeing this:

bell_zpspaijyuid.jpg

Except I keep hearing: "Every time a Terra Nova guy goes OCD, a fairy loses her wings!"

Shut up Zuzu.

Awesome picture! I'm thinking that Space Mountain would be a bit scarier with the lights on. I mean, how does a roller coaster even fit in that mess?? :scared1:

Erp! I hadn't even thought of that.
And you could have CMs standing near the loading platforms shaking their heads
and murmuring about how it's going to fall apart any day now.

Yep, just what I thought, too. It will never replace BTMRR.

::yes::

I think all little girls do this. I know mine did. Kind of makes me wish they would stay that way :sad1:

Keeps 'em from driving and getting boyfriends, too.

:lmao: Right!

I just might do that!
"The salad bar is in the center, the hot dishes to the right and..."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where are the desserts???"

Good eye! Something else I didn't know. That's two things I've learned today. Hmm...what does that mean...

That this is hands down the best TR you've ever read?

Excellent choices. I went there on my last trip for the first time. I had the Mudslide and my wife had the Jose.

 Funny that it's the same, just reversed.

I need to go back and try the Jose. I would have asked my wife for a taste, but I try not to get between her and any chocolate-peanut butter-ice cream dessert - it would not be a pretty situation.

Oh, I hear you. You reach with a spoon and pull back a stump.

Hooray for the PeopleMover! Double hooray for seeing the inner workings of Space Mountain!

::yes:: It's like getting a free prize with certain random rides!

You had a chance to meet Courtney - fabulous!

She was such a sweetheart! :)

I agree with your assessment with 7DMT. I enjoyed it and thought it was well done, but it didn't come close to cracking into my top favorites.

Yeah.
I think I feel like this.
"Well I got a FP for 7DMT, since it's got such a long line...
but I can't wait to ride HM! And PP! And BTMRR!..."

Fun! I'll have to keep an eye out for this next time!

Use your right eye. Because if you just use your left, you'll be crosseyed
and didn't your mother tell you not to do that?

I think your pictures are pretty darn good! They're certainly better than mine!

Thanks! And I highly doubt that!

That's my theory! :thumbsup2

::yes::

I think you and I would get along quite well...

DESSERTS. GIVE ME ALL THE DESSERTS!!! :hyper:

Oh, for sure!
Well, unless we were at the same buffet together...
Then things could get ugly.

Oh my gosh, your first picture with Ariel is HILARIOUS! Major win! :thumbsup2

Thanks! :goodvibes

Awesome! Way to go, Kay! I'll have to look for this next time...

She's pretty observant, isn't she?

YAY!!! I got one right! :yay:

You did!

And for the new questions:

1. Kay gets up at 10:30.

2. The Seas with Nemo costs you time.

3. You finally drink a Grey Goose Slush.

4. No park hopping.

5. You had dinner at Via Napoli.

Noted.

Well... I see the confusion now.

I was reading Andy's comments and... what the what?

Okay...

I wrote that last update and posted it around 2am.
Not an excuse... but I'm guessing that's part of the problem.

I wrote that we checked the wait time for HM and it was 90 minutes
So then we went on HM with no wait.

Yeah.... uh.... so I'm a dolt.

The wait time for Space Mountain was 90 minutes.
There was no wait for Haunted Mansion which we rode instead.
I've amended the update.

Sorry for the confusion!

But...
Wouldn't it be nice if 90 minute wait times were really zero minutes?
ok whew I was confused there also but I confuse so easily. lol and sure I mean we say hi to tink and peter pan and all the other Disney folks so why not to Ponzi lol we can't leave out the dis board legend lol

While I have sifted through plenty of garbage this week, (Why someone thought a house decked out in blue carpet and kitchen appliances that should have died 10 years ago :crazy2: is worth 300k I will never understand)

Never underestimate the value people put on their crap.

none of said garbage was found in your update.

Awww... Thanks! :goodvibes

It was a rather refreshing mix of intellegent words and witty banter. ( Just what I needed too)

I'm glad you think so.
I find that I'm usually only semi-coherent and only half way to witty.

Nice update, even if you did some of the wrong activities according to my guesses.

Whoops! Silly me.

Fun pic with Ariel!

Thanks!

I'll bet she does put her arm through the guest's just to keep track of that hand.

That makes sense. I wonder how many guys have tried to take a grab,
either obvious or clandestine, at her?

Not that she couldn't trust you, of course:rotfl:

I usually don't point out typos, but you made one there, Tammy.
"Not that she should trust you, of course."

You're welcome.

So SM with the lights on. Makes one kind of silly for being scared or extremely thrilled, huh? Except it looks like you are held up by scaffolding. Maybe I will be more frightened next time.

Does look a little rickety, no?

Fun DIS meet! Too bad it was so short. Courtney is so lucky to be in the college program.

I was very pleased that she took the time to meet us!
Just sorry it was so short.

Then again, maybe it felt like an eternity to her.

Probably.

CP was on my radar, but I was pretty sure neither of you were into Pooh! Guess I was right about that, but you are into eating. I wonder how often Tigger gets Dissed at his own gig? :rotfl2:

 Maybe we were the first!

Thanks for the bonus points, it just proves what an awesome host you are!

You're welcome! :)

Beaches and Cream is an excellent choice! Who can say no to ice cream?

Certainly not us!
It was pretty much the biggest priority for Kay!

Funny how that happens.
And when I say "funny" I mean frustrating.
And when I say "frustrating" I mean infuriating.

Noted.

YOU WIN DAD OF THE YEAR!!!!

Whoa! What'd I do to deserve that???

Dinner was at Le Cellier, because Canada and meat.

Noted.

Oh man! I reached the end, so far! :scared:

Oh, no! Hang in there! You can do it!!!

Oh... You mean you've reached the end of the TR...
Well, actually, there's still more to come... Hope you're not too disappointed.

And.... :welcome: to the TR!

We leave for WDW in 16 days, toting along my 14 year old DS and 7 year old DD and I'm getting so many (good?) tips for making the most of a trip with a sulky-at-times teen.

You came here for tips?!?!?
I'm so, so sorry!

Seriously though, I will share with you my number ONE tip for parents taking their kid(s) to Disney.

Ready?
Here it is.

REMEMBER why you're going.

You're going for the kids, right? That's what you've been telling people.
"We're taking the kids to Disney World."

So remember that.
They want to skip BTMRR and ride Dumbo instead? Fine.
They're worried that they'll be scared of HM? Fine.
Relax. Go with the flow a little.

Remember this: If they come back happy, you'll be happy.
And maybe they'll want to go back with you some day.

Make good memories with them, not bad ones.

Am I pontificating? I am. Sorry.
But it's important.

You know that family?
Oh, you know the one.
You hear them all the time. "Do you have any idea how much I paid for this! Stop crying!"

Don't be that family.

You mean you're not being perfect?

I'm always perfect.
Sometimes I mix it up just so people don't get too impressed with me.

Occupational hazard.

No, you're a nice guy so I don't anticipate anything like that happening... but you've been warned.

:lmao:

YAY!! Bonus points for you then. Not that it means anything. I don't have a prize to give out but if I did you would be in first place.

Sweet! What would I have won if you were giving out prizes???

Wait, I don't really see the irony either, I thought it was a perfectly cromulent idea! It would be fun to read what people wrote, like being at your own funeral where everyone says nice things about you even if they don't mean it.

Have you ever read Tom Sawyer?

YAY!! I get to be the reader who makes all the other readers do more work. And no, I wasn't the kid in school who reminded the teacher that she forgot to give us homework.

 Are you sure??

Why are only some of your quotes in blue? How is it possible that I'm still not doing this right?

Relax. You're doing it right.
The code for changing the test is at the beginning of a line or paragraph or even a chapter.
If you select text and it doesn't get included, the text will go to its default.
You can change it back if you really want to.
But IMHO, it's just not worth it.
I've stopped doing it, because I have so many replies to do that I just don't have the time.
