We are planning on going there this Friday and I need to know if there is a Mcdonalds, Perkins, or any other breakfast restaurant nearby. We want to leave early and then have breakfast once we are closer to Canada's Wonderland.

Any suggestions????

Thanks,

Not sure about restaurants -- but if you go to Blockbuster, you can purchase Canada's Wonderland admission tkts for $15 off the gate prices.

I will never go back to Canadas Wonderland because the first time we went there it was pouring rain and lighting. And the second time we went pouring rain and THUNDER LIGHTNING!!Very little shelter , no indoor eating tables only out door. Horrible Service!!!There should be a fastpass like disney and there should be indoor shelter rooms!!!!! How ever the only good thing there is THE RIDES lol!

there is a Mc Donalds across the street from Canadas Wonderland. I am not sure if it is on Major Mac. or Rutherford but it is in a plaza with several stores.

Nancy.

There are also plenty of resturants on Highway 7 around Weston Rd.

and we where just there last weekend and had a wonderful time. There are covered eating areas in certain areas as well as a inclosed resturant type of place.

My DD's got to hug Dora and Deigo they where in heaven. My suggestion is be there before 10:00 am as the weekend mobs.

There is a wonderful new invention available to help prevent further disappointment -- it's called the weather forecast.

Rutherford and Weston has one fast food place. There is a Wendy's half way between Rutherford and Major Mac on Jane street. The area is becoming very built up now - a major problem for park expansion. If you go on Thunder Run say hi to dave, the supervisor (my DS). p.s. rumour has it that next year they are thinking of installing a launching coaster - think RNRC, but outside.

Yes but is the weather forecast allways right?

Susan we arew going tomorrow we get free tickets otherwise I wouldn't even bother to. I will report back with what places are close by for eating.

But DisneyFine, as long as you're not going, I'm betting on there NOT being any thunderstorms. :rotfl: lol. Susan, if you see a Gino's bus on the way there or back, look for the screaming Grade Sixers on to the Zoo, and give them a wave!

Ah to be a weatherperson it is the only job I know of where you get paid and usually paid well for telling people about something you have no control over and never know if you will be right or wrong.

Tim Horton's and Williams Coffee Pub are across the road from the parking lot on Jane St.

Mickey D's is in the Longo's plaza, Jane @ Major Mackenzie.

Have a fun day!!

Ya I guess I am the bad luck! :rotfl: WHATEVER YOU DO DON'T GO WITH ME! :teeth:

Uh guys,
Susan posted this a year ago. Disney Fine bumped it up yesterday.

Ok there are numerous places just off the grounds for eating like MD's etc so you should be set for breakfast. Also an interesting tid bit I heard from my mother in law who sells discounted CWL tickets through the credit union she runs. She was told by the ticketing lady that CWL is re locating as the land owner has decided to turn the land into residential space. They are talking about a place close to either Brantford or Woodstock along the 403.

LOL at the original post being a year old.

As for the urban myth about Wonderland moving, they took out full page ads in the Toronto dailies a year or two ago denying these rumours. And have you had a quote recently on how much it costs to move a mountain??? Not cheap! ;)

Though Paramounts owners (Viacom) are looking to sell their theme park assets. Six Flags Canada'a Wonderland in the future?

Six Flags CWL in the Woodstock Brantford area would be ok we got this info from one of the PCWL employees not 4 days ago so who knows what is going on.

Here is a link from a story in last week's London (ON) Free Press....

Canada's Wonderland not moving
Despite rumours, the park is not headed to Woodstock -- or anywhere else.
Hank Daniszewski, Business Reporter

The folks at Paramount Canada's Wonderland are wondering what they have to do to kill a persistent urban myth.
The latest version of the myth is the huge amusement park, just north of Toronto, is packing up and moving to Woodstock or Brantford.

The rumour was just one of many that swirled around Woodstock and Oxford County this spring when officials were scrambling to assemble 1,000 acres of land. Other rumours concerned an IKEA store, a NASCAR speedway and a giant Wal-Mart distribution centre. Last week, Toyota announced it would build an $800-million assembly plant near where Highway 401 meets Oxford County Road 2.

Kris Williams, Wonderland's manager of public relations, said she received many calls about moving to the Woodstock-Brantford area this spring. She said there has never been a shred of truth to the moving rumour, which surfaced about five years ago and was first linked to Niagara Falls and then Barrie.

"The rumour is frankly quite disturbing because people really believe it. I don't understand why it doesn't go away," said Williams.

Wonderland officials were getting so many calls from the public, media, politicians and developers in 2002 they were forced to place ads in several Toronto papers in a vain effort to quash the rumour.

Williams said Wonderland's site in the city of Vaughan was carefully selected in 1980 to serve the fast-growing area surrounding Toronto. Twenty-five years later, park management welcomes three million visitors a year and likes the location just fine.

"It really doesn't make sense for us to be anywhere else," said Williams.

Williams said she has never been able to track the source of the myth, but it seems to be based on several bogus assumptions.

- Canada's Wonderland is running out of space. Wrong: The park has always had 79 acres of vacant land.

- Canada's Wonderland can easily be moved like the midways that travel between county fairs. Wrong: 80 per cent of Wonderland's infrastructure is permanent and largely underground.

- The move is being triggered by new ownership. Wrong: The park has had several owners over the years and none wanted to move it.

Williams is worried even discussing the rumour with the media will extend its life.

"We're a little tired of it," she said with a sigh.
