Canada Le Cellier, WHAT is the Big Deal?

Add me to the list of not impressed! The original restaurant in the Contemporary Resort, I am drawing a blank here, but the one that was replaced with the wave...........ugghhhhh!!! Anyway, we had our best steaks there. We had to try LC once, but won't do it again! My kids also thought the waiter was really kissing up for a good tip, funny how kids can pick up on that stuff.

Conscourse Steak House....your right much better.

We've had both a "meh" experience and a good experience at LeCellier (the good was due to a fantastic staff we encountered more than the food). We've always found the food to be more generic quality - I've had much better at Applebees.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Teppan Edo, though! :thumbsup2 My DH would have been totally happy to eat every one of our 8 TS meals there on our last trip.

If you want a surprisingly good steak, go to Shutters at CBR and get the Char grilled Top Sirloin. OMG!!!!!!!!! Best steak ever!!!!!!! So juicy and tender!!!!!!!!!! I will definitely go back there next time!

my family goes back every year and we all get the steaks. they are delicious. the fillet is especially good. I agree that the soups were great. so were the breadsticks. we love le cellier!:mickeyjum:figment::goofy::stitch::donald::tigger:

Had an amazing experience at Le Cellier in 2004, so sold it to my friend as the must do for my birthday trip in January 2008. Can you say disappointing? The service was mediocre, the appetizers were fantastic, but our steaks were not very good at all. I apologized to my friend afterwards it was so bad. I've thought about going back, but not for steak, just appetizers.

Would the kids enjoy it or should we opt out and find a more kid-friendly place?

Personally I would find a more kid friendly place. They often run late at seating you and then service is quite slow. More often than not our meals there have been 2+ hours which is no fun at all for the kids. When we originally started going there they had great kid's desserts which my kids loved enough to make the wait worth it but now those desserts are not on the kids menu anymore. You can still buy them but it's a lot of extra money to shell out $6 a kid just for dessert.

I agree that it is overrated.

It is a good restaurant but the way some people carry on I think some expect too much. Maybe I am spoiled, we have great steakhouses in Chicago. The steaks at Wildfire restaurant and definitely Ruth's Chris are better.

It is a good restaurant, just not the best IMO. Brown Derby was better too but that is more pricey.

They do have a delicious French Dip sandwich for lunch.

MMMM Wildfire! :-)
One of me and my hubby's FAV restaurants! Crusted filets are amazing and even their salads are wonderful.
Their "stormy night"s are my fav cocktail EVER

A little OT, but the best steak we had in our recent WDW trip was "Planet Hollywood" Mainly an adult place, but great taste and very tender NY strip.

I thought my maple bbq filet was good when I went in March. It surely wasn't up to the quality of a good steakhouse, though. But you are paying to eat in the park and for the theme. I don't think that's necessarily true of all the restaurants on property, but in my opinion, that's the way it is for many of them.

We have eaten here every time we have stayed at WDW and it has been great (we have liked it as well as the kiddos) but we haven't been for 2.5 years .... Now I am a little worried to make ADR's.

There were 7 of us when we dined there 2 weeks ago and we loved it. It was the best meal of the trip. Everyone's steaks were done perfect.

I had this 2 times on our trip. I actually cut it with the side of my fork it was so tender. It was fantastic.

We've had some good meals there but never experienced a WOW factor like we've had elsewhere in the World California Grill, Jiko, Flying Fish, Kona). It's not a must do and we've gone to places that would rate out much worse. It falls somewhere in the middle for us.

I used to work at Lecellier from July 2007 to June 2008 if anyone has any questions let me know!!!!

I guess it's a matter of what you like- as with everything in life. I think Bugaboo and Outback are basically gross- and have not had a bad steak at Le Cellier! My father is the ultimate steak and potatoes guy and Le cellier is a must do for him each trip- we go once or twice a year. Of course we also hit the Yachtsman each time! MMMMMMMMM meat!

We have always had good meals at LeCellier. I could eat just the bread sticks and cheddar cheese soup and be happy :)

No Tim Horton's? What's the deal????

LeCellier was easily the BEST meal we had at WDW, hands down. Steak cooked perfect, and the Maple Creme Brulee... It's like sucking the sap right out of the tree it was so sweet and fresh.

I loved LeCellier. My dd can't wait to get the Creme Brulee again.

When we were walking around Canada, there was a guest coughing a bit n:scared1:earby. I joked to my husband that they should sell some Buckley's to them. Shiver..........
