You can see the high fireworks from the Epcot resort area. That is, however, only a small part of Illuminations and the water effects, the fire effects, the globe, etc. will not be visible from outside the park.
A wonderful benefit of staying at BC is you can walk to EPCOT in a manner of minutes!! You can't see the fireworks from BC, but with the gate very near the BC, you can enter and exit EPCOT very easily!! It's almost like having your very own private gate!!! Have a magical trip!!
If you do not want to go INTO EPCOT, you can stand on the bridge between BC and BW and watch. You will still not be able to see the Globe and lower affects, but it would be better than watching from BC.

You can see a majority of the high fw from anywhere in front of the BC or YC, but if you want a bit better view without going in to Epcot I agree with this poster. Stake out a place on the bridge between BC and BW and you should get a majority of the fireworks.
We've actually watched the fireworks and lasers from a balcony of the YC.

Sorry to hijack, I am also curious. Can you tell me what view you booked at the YC to see the fireworks? We have a pool view, requsted to be close to YC lobby. I wonder if we can see the fireworks from there?
