Can you help me find a FW spare tire cover?

When we were there last month DH really wanted a Fort Wilderness spare tire cover for our RV. No big deal, so we thought. We checked at the Meadows and they told us that someone had come and gotten all but one size (not our size) and they were under the impression that they would not receive more of our size. However, they gave us the phone number for Disney mail order and I called and ordered the item. That was about two weeks ago.

Yesterday, I noticed upon receiving my credit card statement that there was both a charge and a credit for Disney mail order. I called and they told me that the tire covers have been discontinued!

They did not know if there might be a style change in the works or if there would not be a spare tire cover for sale, period. Anyone out there have any idea where I could locate one of these, or perhaps know if there will be new version coming out?

Did you try a search on ebay? I would try there if you can't find one anywhere else.

Yes, I've tried eBay. I will keep an eye out there, but there really are very few Ft. Wilderness items up for sale at any time.

I've even considered getting the one that too big and finding someone who can resize it for us. Just a lot of money to spend to have to spend more for alteration, if that would even work very well..........

FredS - i purchased a spare tire cover 3 years ago. Since they did not carry a tire cover small enough for my very tiny pop up spare tire, i bought the smallest one they had and modified it my self.

I wrapped the spare tire in bubble wrap several times. i then fished out the bungie that holds the tire cover around the tire and shortened it by quite a bit.

The bubble wrap did a pretty good job of filling in the extra space in the tire cover and the shorter bungie did the rest by holding on extra tight.

I have never had a problem with it catching any air while towing and the logo is nicely centered. Looks great.

If the ones they do have available are not too much too big, you may want to give this a shot.

here is hoping that they are only pulling them to reissue ones with the more PC logo. (Personally i like the musket. But then we are a gun friendly hunting family.)

what size are you looking for? we purchased one the day we left back in june and put it on our camper,but on the way home we had an accident and totaled the camper...i now have a brand new tire cover --but no camper. i think it is a 15, will have to ask dh ....post back if your interested in buying it...

How much are they?? how do I know what size my camper needs?? We have a 31 foot w/slideout wilderness camper, I would love to get this as a surprise for dh and ds's

Korzmom -- would be definitely interested. I ordered one using the item number, but we can certainly check the tire size. As I recall, it was a size "J" in Disney's book. I can measure the tire and see if we can figure it out.

sorry guys, as it turns out my dh promised it to someone at work...look at the campstore and ask at the counter, they have a book with all the diff sizes..they are 45.00 ....

From my understanding they are changing the logo for the tire covers. So they will be producing some at a later date. No one seems to know exactly when they may be arriving.

My first thought when talking to the CM at the Meadows was that they were changing the design. (Why not sell the remaining ones instead of removing them, though, I don't get.)

I think that they are a fairly popular item, and they SURELY won't be discontinued altogether. I think we will wait and check with them when we go back to WDW in October to see if they are available then, or if anyone has a better idea of when it might happen.

I have been on that same tire cover search with no luck. We are
going to FW in Sept. and I wanted one for the trip.
At this point I would be happy with anything Disney on the Logo.
Anyone know where I might find a Tire Cover with Mickey on it
(or anything else for that matter)?confused:

how about getting a plain white one and having it airbrushed, they do those things just about everywhere...

Thanks Korzmom for the idea, I'll check around here, that's a great idea. Still hoping for one already done if anyone knows of any web sites that have them (Disney style). I've looked pretty good, but I'm sure there are alot of sites out there my searches didn't cover. Thanks again for the reply.
