Can the front desk add guests?

I rented DVC points from a member for a 5/1-5/8 trip. I now have two additional family members who are making the trip, but I can’t get the member to respond to my repeated requests to add them to the reservation. (Probably because of what a nightmare it is to call MS right now, but still!) I and the rest of the party arrive at 9 am on 5/1 and the two additional people arrive at 9 pm. Would the front desk at SSR be able to add these two to the villa, such that they can at least use their phones to get into it while they’re here? What about DME? Would they be able to get on DME last minute by showing ID if I can get the SSR front desk to add them when I arrive in the morning? Thanks!
 
From my experience with Magical express... that might be difficult if they are not on a reservation. I have had to show my name and resort reservation to ME before when they couldn't find me on the list of those taking the bus. Don't know about adding people at the front desk... but I couldn't see that being a problem if it's within the room occupancy. I'm curious if anyone has any first hand knowledge on this.

Don't think that will work...
PS, adding people to existing reservation can be done online, no need to call MS.
 

I would also check your rental contract because if it does not allow for a guest change, it could cause an issue.
 
I remember when I rent points for a DVC resort from a 3rd party like David's DVC, the owner has to add/change names. I thought it was at least 30 days prior. But it may be different when you working with the owner.

Have you been in contact with the member that rented these points by phone & online ? Perhaps they don’t know guest names can be changed online within the legal limit . Also I think Magic Express can be added to confirmation online but they need to know
Date, and arrival and departure time for your round trip return and each guest name to accomplish this online or by calling.
Can you send them a text for Help?

I had asked for a rental contract, but she said she didn't use them, and instead tracked everything by email. (I did ask for references, which she provided, and the people I contacted all had positive things to say.)

I would continue then to contact her with the names and keep an eye on your account in MDE. As soon as she adds names, it will show up there.

But, I would still plan on having the extra people use something other than DME if they are not added before check in dat.

The other piece to consider is if she does not contact you to add, will you chance having the others still come? What if the front desk can’t add them?

I am definitely going to still have them come, and either give them one of our magic bands to get in and out, or be with them when they need to get in or out (probably the former). This has turned into quite the unfortunate rental experience, and will probably hasten me purchasing DVC so this never happens again! If it were just my trip I could handle it, but being in charge of someone else's trip, while being subject to someone else's whims, was not a great idea. Lessen learned!

All guests must be registered to stay and it is against Disney policy to work around that.

Since we do not allow posts that discuss violating WDW rules, I am going to close the thread before things go in the wrong direction.
