We have a 2 BR and studio for our next visit and would like to have our keys be able to open either unit.

Is this possible? Or will we have to have two sets of keys?

They should be able to do it. I stayed at POFQ once with friends, we had adjoining rooms. Our keys opened both.

Unfortunatley no... they can not, The only way a key can be made for both rooms is if they are connecting rooms (door in between the rooms inside) and they are on the same reservation. Some hotels have access to cut keys for rooms that are immediatly side by side (no interior connecting door) but the rooms must be on the same booking. There is no way to cut one key that opens both doors if the rooms are on seperate reservations.

In the case I described, the 2 rooms were on the same reservation. We did not have charging priviledges.

Stupid question, but what about a 2BR that isn't a lock-off? I assume the same key will work on the studio part door and the 1BR door?

Stimpy, given Luiberty Bell's explanation, a lock-off 2 bdrm (basically a studio and connecting one bedroom) do use the same key if they are reserved as a two bedroom unit. If you reserve the studio portion separately from the one bedroom, then no, it would be like if two different members reserved each side of the unit, since they would be on different reservation numbers.

Thanks, Liberty Belle, for posting the answer, I think most of us assumed that rooms could be keyed alike using the electronic key systems.

If it isn't a lock-off it will have only one exterior door to the dedicated villa. Lock-off 2BRs will have two exterior doors and all room keys will open both doors.

As Doc said above, we had this arrangement last month: a 2-bedroom BCV lockoff on the same reservation where some keys had charging privs and some did not, but all would open both doors.

You might call the resort desk and ask if they can do the same for 2 non-attached rooms, but don't get your hopes up.
