I will be using ONLY the hard event tickets to enter the park on both days, but have 2 days extra regular tickets linked to my magic bands that will allow me to book FP+ for those days. So, if I book the FP+ online now using the regular tickets, but enter the park using my non-linked party tickets, will I somehow lose my regular ticket entitlements if I use the FP+ that night (before the parties begin)? Hope that made sense :).

I was able to use my Villains tickets to book FP+ for before the party. MDE would only let me book for HS on that day because we don't have regular park tickets that day.

I have an AP and the hard ticket to Villians Unleashed. I was only able to make one set of FP+ choices. I picked MK so I could get the coveted Anna and Elsa and the SDMT. I was then not able to choose anything at DHS for the same day.

If your party tickets are linked to your mde account do you need to bring the physical tickets that were sent in the mail? (I'll bring them anyway. Just curious.)

My event tickets are not linked to my MB, so I am using my other MYW tickets to book FP+ for these days. I will enter the park using the only hard party tickets, but will still be able to use the FP+ I booked with the linked tickets between 5pm and 8pm. Using these FP+ will not automatically deduct a MYW ticket day from my linked tickets on my MB. Is this correct?

From what I understand, based on previous years, regular FP was not available during party hours which is TECHNICALLY 7pm to midnight ( actual party times ) Even though for many years, for ease of party goers entering and day guests being cleared out, party goers can enter starting at 4 pm No real reason it won't continue to be this way

That being said, I am guessing since like I said technically the party starts at 7 IF you set up FP+ for 5 pm I think it will read & use one of your regular day tickets for entry Make sense ? I wouldn't link party tickets to MB and I wouldn't make FP + selections for the reason I stated

I was able to do this last year.
- Booked FP+ between 4-7 night of the party.
- Entered the party with my hard party ticket (unlinked) NOT my MagicBand.
- FP+ worked just fine with MagicBand.

That said they have been closing lots of loops and fine tuning the system so until parties happen and folks try we really won't know.

Crud. I already linked my party tickets to MDE. It never occurred to be it could be disadvantageous.

I am not positive but I do not think you are correct.
If you do not have hard ticket in MDE then MDE doesn't know you are using the hard ticket to book your FP, it assumes you are booking them with your ticket for the day and it will take that day out of your inventory of days to book. So say you have 5 days MYW ticket. The site will only let you book 5 days worth of FP. If the hard ticket is your 6th park day then you will need to have them in MDE in order to get 6 days worth of FP. Does that make sense?

You can change the priority of the hard ticket to ensure it's used when you enter that day. Or you can do like we will, bring our physical ticket to enter. But you can still book FP for the hours of 4-7 on the day of the party. Doing so will not automatically mean you are using a park ticket to enter the park for the party. But if you link the hard ticket to MDE and you do not confirm the priority before you enter then you do run the risk of it using your park entry that day, instead of the hard ticket.

Our hard ticket was linked to MDE through no action on my part. It's just there because when I bought them I have to use my email address. Disney put the 2 and 2 together all by itself. To avoid any confusion when we go to the park I will only scan and enter with my party ticket that came in the mail.

You would be able to book the FP from 4-7 even without the regular day tickets on your MDE. Just having a hard party ticket gives you FP for those 3 hours before the party begins. But I'm pretty sure you'd have to have those hard party tickets linked in MDE to book FP with them. Otherwise, the system has no way to "see" the ticket to give you FP access.

Thanks for the information! I understand the part about having to have enough days of tickets linked to cover booking FP+ for the days of the events (as we will keep them separate from MDE). We actually have 2 day base tickets left over from our FD package last year that are linked and we will not be using this year. So, we're covered in that regard. I just wanted to make sure that using the FP+ attached to these MYW base tickets will not cause them to be automatically deducted from our account, as if they were used. I think you answered this question above, that we have nothing to worry about. I this the definitive answer that people have been experiencing recently with regard to FP+ and events?
