Can I buy these things on board?

There are items I know I'm going to need for our cruise, but I don't have them. Instead of buying them before I go I was wandering if I could get them on the ship or possibly at the first stop?

For instance, I'd like an isulated cup to take drinks to the island with me (not into the soda program though), a beach bag, beach towels, sunglasses, hats, swim trunks, bathing suits, princess dress for DD, etc.

As far as swim suits go, we all own one but instead of buying a second before going I'd just rahter buy it there. And things such as a beach bag and cup, well I'd rather have those from the islands or as souveniers anyway.

Some of those you can purchase on the ship, but why not stop on your way to the port and pick up this stuff. (if you are driving or using a limo to get to the port).

You'll pay a premium for stuff on the ship.

See Dave's site for directions for places to stop to shop just outside of Port Canaveral

You won't need a beach towel for Castaway Cay as they provide (small) towels and there are plenty of beach chairs (that recline) if you get off the ship early enough.

To me that seems the same as buying here and taking with me.

I'm a big souvenier person and I figured these would make good souveniers if I could get them while ON the cruise.

I guess I'm just strange....:jester:

You can pick up all those things at Treasure Kemp and your dd's dress at the Disney store. You can start to shop at 6:00pm when the stores' open, the evening of your travel date.

For women, they offer Tommy Bahama and some Tommy Hilfiger. Bathing suits and wraps, nice sunglasses and assortment of hats. Most beach bags are DCL insignia and run from $25-65.

Beach Towels are in abundance for the first few days of the cruise, by the end, there is little left.

Hope this helps.... L

Univfire--Disney LOVES people like you! :teeth: Yes, they have just about everything available on board (in limited quantities).
I usually end up getting an extra suitcase or so!

do we need to bring anycoolers or is there a fridge in avery room?

There are cooling boxes in every stateroom. We have noticed that they work great while the ship is at sea but they tend to get warm while the ship is in a port of call. We take a collapsible cooler for DH's beer. The stateroom host keeps it filled with ice.

Univfire, I got a beautiful swimsuit last year on the Magic, on sale too. You may find better deals on the islands for your souvies.

Hi Univfire. Actually, you can have most - if not all - of the items you specified DELIVERED to your room. Call Shirley at The Perfect Gift. I'm sure the dear lady could arrange to have your selections gift wrapped most splendidly for you and your family. Plus, for the stateroom itself, you could enter to find a pleasing array of fresh flowers as well. I did this for DM and DS9. They were thrilled with their arrival gifts and the floral arrangement added a most "homey" touch. Just a thought...
