We will be traveling May 7-12, park days May 8-11. We plan on MK, Epcot, HS, AK one park per day.
The plan was that the MK and HS days would be early rope drop days, but Epcot previously had an early open time of 9:30, allowing us a little more of a leisurely morning. However, park hours have changed and all parks now have an early open time of 8:30 am - meaning we need to leave our hotel (Poly) by at least 7:30 each day to be at the parks by 8 and have a good “rope drop spot.” I don’t particularly want to get up at 6am everyday for a week!
So - for Epcot and AK, if we use Genie + and individual ride purchases in a smart way, can we NOT do rope drop for those parks and still have a pleasant time?
For EPCOT, we would grab LL for Frozen as early as possible (9-9:30) and buy Remy’s; as soon as leaving Frozen would do LL for Soarin’. The hope is that we could leave Poly at 8:30, rather than leaving at 7:30 to queue up for rope drop and do Frozen without LL. we do NOT want to do Test Track or Mission Space; do want to do the Seas, Spaceship Earth, and come back after noon break for World Showcase in the evening.
For AK, we would purchase both the safari and FoP, safari for 9-9:30 and Avatar for 11-11:30, and leave Poly via Uber around 8 or 8:30. We mostly want to do the animal stuff at AK, so not concerned about having Genie Plus for the day.
In your opinion, is this an ok plan, or are we missing out by not rope dropping at Epcot and AK?
