with some fairly inexpensive birthday celebration ideas. My sister will be turning 38 while we are there in November. This is her first visit to the world and I would just like to do something special for her. Can anyone give me some ideas? Thanks!

Well, we didn't do this at Disney but we did this for a friend of mine when we vacationed in Vegas together. We took her out for dinner & she thought that was the end of our celebration. Anyway, before we left our room, I had brought balloons & tape along in our suitcase & I blew up the balloons (just to make it look festive because she was turning 50 & didn't care much for balloons like kids do!! ) & taped them along with a Happy B-day banner I got at Big Lots, to the wall above the little table/chairs we had in our room. Earlier in the day, I went to a local grocery store & bought a cake & had them write her name on it & I was all equiped with candles & had her presents (I gave her the card over dinner) there on the table. I invited her to come into my room to get something & then me & DH said "surprise!" She was so touched! (If you are staying in the same room as your sister, you can always "prepare" while she's in the shower or send her to get you some Tylenol at the gift shop or something to get rid of her.) Anyway, it was fairly inexpensive & it was such a nice touch for her. She still talks about her "hotel birthday" party! That was about 12 years ago!

That's a nice idea. I made reservations for dinner on her birthday but she thinks I'm up to something (i.e. telling the CM's it's her birthday). So...I'd like to think of something else I could do to take her off guard.
