Can anyone help me with this design??

I no longer have a PC, and haven't found anything comparable to Photo Impact for my Mac. These are not Disney related, but I know that all the best designers come here

My daughter will be competing in the Junior Olympics (jump rope) in a couple weeks, and I'd love to have some family shirts to show support for her team. I've got the team logo here. The shirts will be dark purple and white (I'll make a set for each color shirt), so I guess transparent would be best?? The shirts will say "Skip Wizard Mom", etc.

I think I'd like to keep the Skip Wizard name on the top, and put the "Mom" etc. on the bottom..somehow. The wizard is going to have to be all white to show up well on the purple shirt. I think I'd rather just have the wizard and the jump rope with the words around it, but I'm open to whatever works. I also don't really care if the city,state stays or goes. I'd prefer to get rid of that red circle.

I've spent the last two days trying to figure out how to do this on GIMP, and it has been a very slow process. I know there are so many of you who could whip this off in minutes, so I figured I'd ask here to save myself many more hours of headaches

I also have a picture of the way the logo was used on the t-shirt they used several years ago.....the wizard is all white in that one.

I'd basically like shirts that say:

Skip Wizard Mom
Skip Wizard Dad
Skip Wizard Brother
Skip Wizard Sister
Future Skip Wizard

Just some info for you...

There are some problems with the design you want. First, if you are making your shirts, you are unable to have the wizard white like in the picture. The only way to do the white lettering, like in the picture, is to have them professionally screen printed.
Ink jet printers do not print white, only color.

There are two different types of shirt transfers, light colored (transparent, think of it as a window decal) and dark colored (white, like putting a large sticker on the shirt). If you have dark purple shirts, you would need to use the dark colored trans paper to have any white on the shirt. You COULD make the wizard white, but then the designer would need to make the background on the paper a dark purple. Since they don't have your shirts for comparison, the color could be off, possibly way off.

The easiest way to do this would be white shirts with purple art and wording. OR, you can leave the logo purple and cut out a white circle to iron on the shirt. And, in order to use the logo you have there, the designer would need to have access to a size as large as you need it on the shirt. Any resizing up will degrade the quality and make the image look fuzzy.

Just letting you know what will be involved.

Thank you SO much for your input. I'm so glad I didn't spend hours on my own trying to turn that wizard white, and then not have it work. I was thinking my ideas would be easier if I just used as much of that logo as I could.


I guess I'm back to square one to find a way to get a wizard, jumprope, and the wording. I always get these grand ideas, and then have to spend weeks trying to get them to work. The team colors are purple, white and black, so hopefully I can come up with something that will work. I can't possibly have my daughter in the Junior Olympics without family shirts for support LOL!

I really appreciate your suggestions. I'll fiddle around some more tonight.

Do you still have the shirt she is wearing? If so, in natural sun light, lay the shirt flat on the floor or couch. Smooth it out (or iron it first inside out). Get your camera and take a high resolution picture as close to the logo as you can. You now have your logo, large enough to use. I don't use anything but Photoshop, so I'm not quite sure how you can crop and edit it in the programs you have. But, you could probably drop it in, resize, crop, add the names and print out. You may have to cut it out, but that would only be time consuming.

Oh, and if you want to try photoshop elements, you can download a 30 day trial version from Adobe.

As Shell said, you will need to use a dark transfer sheet in order for the white to show on the purple shirt. I put the entire thing inside a thin black line so you could see where to cut and still have the white border. I cannot guarantee the purple will be the same but I used the purple in the original logo.

Normally I like to match the font. But after a long time searching, I could not find the font.
