Is there enough room on each camp site to pull your awning out or do most people just skip doing this ? Some of the camp site pictures, the camping space looks pretty tight.
When you make a Reservation tell them you have a awning, we used ours on the last trip. The trip before we had a tree on the side which was in the way. They usually make room for your awning and slideout if let them know.
We've always used our awning. Once, however, a tree prevented us from opening it completely, but it was most of the way out and not a problem. Our biggest worry on that trip was that one of our boys would run out the camper door smack into the tree cause it was right in front of the door. Luckily no serious injuries occurred.
Anyway, we always have them note on our reservations that we have an awning and a slide out.
My experience is that nearly all sites are good for slideouts and awnings. You just have to be careful about when you unhook that you account for a tree here or there and the water hookup post. A tree may dictate that you have to go a bit further back or forward than you would otherwise think. They have removed some trees that were in the way in recent years...the hurricanes in 2004 helped do that too.
