Well, the final instructions weren't too earth shattering. I am glad to know that they are handling transportation from the host hotels to WWOS. that way we don't have to go to DHS first.. we can just hop on the bus directly to WWOS.
Saw that the last bus is at 5am. Guess, i will plan on bringing my breakfast to go.. as eating 2 hours prior to the start is fine enough for me. LOL

Nowwwww.. where to get a cup of coffee at that crazy hour?! Wonder if they will open the coffee place at the Poly earlier since it's a host hotel.. Unless my coffee machine in the conceirge at the poly will be available to me..

Caitsmama!!! Definitely check that coffee shop ahead of time, in January they are open so it's a good possiblity for you. Hope it works!!!!

Everyone stay healthy!!! I've got the cold/germies covered :sick: will proceed with my nyquil tonight and hopefully it will be gone before travel. This sucks! So everyone else push those vitamins, drink that OJ and stay healthy!!!! I have to go find my Zicam stash.

But they had a Marathon and Half Marathon clipart back in January. Not sure if they will do a Princess Marathon Weekend one but it's worth a check :thumbsup2 Just in case those official weekend shirts are itty bitty sized. I bought a ladies XL for the DL Half back in Sept and it fit wonderfully, now that same size at the Minnie when I wear it needs to come with a black bar over my chest. :lmao:

so if anyone gets over to DTD and can check it out before the meet or the expo :thumbsup2

Now back to day dreaming of watching Illuminations popcorn::

In case anyone's renting a car..... Just got a rate of $9.60/day at Dollar for a compact! Booked with no code and then hit the city specials button that came up with the initial rates. Total for 4 days--$68 (those taxes and fees ended up being half the cost)
 
Just wanted to say safe travels to anyone fixing to leave. We won't go until Sat. morning. I can't wait to see everyone down there. I know my northern girlfriends will be the ones in shorts and tank tops saying, man, it's hot, and we sorthern girls will all have on jackets! :laughing: See y'all at POR and/or the W tent!

Just meeting at the corrals before the race and at the W tent afterwards as far as I know.
 
Well I woke this morning feel much better. Apparently the wonderful up and down of the weather affected my sinuses/allergies. But I will be taking those vitamins and packing the zicam :upsidedow

Maura when are you flying out? I'm leaving Wed night on Spirit. Susan has us looking at the Martian 1/2 again as a side note :) The rates go up for it on 3/1.

I think I am going to hand over the money today for the after party. :cool1: As of now, it looks like Susan won't be able to make it due to a hiring freeze. :sad1:
 
Maybe its "taper madness" but I am thinking about the Goofy! And I have never even done a marathon, or a half marathon for that matter!!
 
Christine are you flying out of Cincy? We are flying out of Dayton because it was cheaper. I am getting excited. Bags are almost packed. Now if I can just control the "sweeper" anxiety! We leave Friday morning at 11:30!!
 
I went to sign my parents up to get texts about my progress in the race....and it says my age is 49!! I'm only 24?!? I tried calling the TrackShack people but they aren't open today. Does anybody know who else I could contact???

This is probably going to mess up what age bracket I'm in. I'm frustrated! :confused3
 
No worries Lock3130! You can get that easily and quickly fixed at the Expo. Just ask when you pick up your bib & chip which line you need next. It's Runner Assistance or something. It shouldn't even have much of a line, when I've had to stop by to have a chip # added it's been walk up or 3 people in front of me. They'll have you fixed in no time :thumbsup2

Yea, but imagine how great your time will look compared to us old ladies! lol

You can usually have it corrected after the fact...sometimes even at the expo.

Hi Ashley! :)

The chips they will give you are he black ones you can view down towards the bottom. They will give you a plastic tie to attack it to your shoe. I typically would weave it thru my laces and thru that little loop on the shoe tongue that the laces go thru. Going thru that loop is probably all that is needed but I'm always paranoid :eek: They will have a volunteer after you cross the finish line that will snip the tie and take the chip off. So probably better to not do to much lace weaving LOL The yellow ones are personal chips.

Which corral you are in will be listed on your bib. Looking at the Fond Memories and Crossing the line it looks like the Corral letter will be up in the corner.

There is a corral map and finish line/family reunion area on the the final instructions. And they will probably have that in the Princess Handbook they will handing out. If someone didn't get the email with the Final Instruction link on Friday drop me a PM today, I'm back to think I'm sick and not going anywhere :sad2:

When you go to packet pick up. They will take your waiver and I think mark it and give it back to you. They will have you sign next to your name on a master list they have. you will intial that you rec'd your chip. They will give you your bib and a champion chip envelope that I think is like 5x8 in size? which will have the chip in it along with the plastic tie for the chip. DO NOT LOOSE THIS CHIP they will charge you I think $30 or something for these. I always check to make sure the plastic tie and chip is in there and fold it over a few times so not to lose the chip. Did i mention i'm paranoid LOL

Take your chip envelope to the table (the volunteer who gave it to you will point this out and if not ask) where you will wave your chip over a sensor and verify your info on the computer screen. (age/name)

Then you go to the goody bag area.
They will have given you your Waiver back this you take to the goody bag area where they will take it and look at the shirt size you ordered and give you your goody bag and shirt and THEY keep the waiver.

The layout of this can change but basically 3 steps. Most likely the bib/chip pick up will be by bib #. Next verify your chip info is correct. Pick up your bag/shirt. Shirts/bags are laid out by shirt sizes sometimes depending on how much room they have.

then it's off to shop the merchandise and all the wonderful vendors.

OH!!! Make sure the goody bag has your safety pins for attaching your bib. Frankly if you have them at home I would toss some into your checked luggage because I didn't get a single safety pin in January LOL It happens.

OH!!! Pre-ordered Pins, Party tickets, Runners/Spectator Retreats are typically another line. Actually I think all these items are 1 line.

I typically have safety pins baggy with me so I will try to remember to bring it to the POR retreat as a back up just in case ;)

It could definitely be taper madness. However I signed up for the Goofy and I have yet to do a marathon! :eek: The Princess half will be my second half, although I hope to get a few more in before the year is out. There is plenty of time to train if you really wanted to do it. Just takes alot of miles before January! I figure with my half training I'm half way there :rotfl:
If you do sign up let me know and we can keep each other motivated with training :cheer2:
