little tinkerbelle: my mom, brother and I went to Curacao when we went on the Disney Panama Canal cruise! It is beautiful there!

Just made it ot the print shop before they closed :cool1:
The lettering is in reflective sliver, the same stuff the police use on their jackets.
I think it came out really well.

Stacy (Caitsmama) Where are you? I have looked and looked for the LGMH with the "Inaugural Princess Half Marathon" in the head and "2009" in the crown and can't find it. I have captured the plain LGMH, but I don't know how to write in it. Could you help me?

About hydration and fuel during the race...look at the map and you will see lots of hydration stops and one food stop. You will need some kind of belt if you carry anything (i.e. camera, gels). When I drive to a race, I just tie my car key to my shoe with the laces, but that will be hard to do with a room key. I have an amphipod with two 10 oz. bottles and a carry pouch. When I'm on a long run I usually carry one bottle. It does move around and I can't get it to stay down on my hips. It is good to tie my long sleeve tee to when I get warm. I may wear it with just the pouch for the Princess Half. Hope that helps.

Welcome all our new racers!princess:

Skyo Great outfit! I'm working on mine right now.

Stacy DH has come to my rescue:goodvibes ...he down loaded a font called Waltograph UI and I put the plain LGMH on a blank microsoft publisher page and used a text box to add the writing.

Thanks all for the warm welcome:wave2: and ghoulishgirl I am so happy to hear that you and your family loved our little island:goodvibes I love it here, however sometimes it's a bit difficult to shop here I really miss a good mall;) so now I am really happy that I am going to be at the marathon and of course the expo I cannot wait to see all the cool stuff and hopefully buy a couple of things!!! I have a question as I live in the tropics I have no clue what to wear in the morning before it starts. I normally wear a sportstanktop and a sport skirt and I read that some wear like a garbagebag with holes cut out?:confused3 and later you take it off ( where do you leave it are there garbagecans on the course? And that doesn't sound warm enough for me!! Another question I read on disneyrunning that they are gonna have new skirts that are gonna be yellow, pink and blue that have a little tiara on them, I think that sounds really cute (at the expo) if I would buy one on friday and want to wear it on sunday is that really a bad idea. ( I have one black skirt that I bought last year when I was on vacation and here they don't sell any skirts) I would really want to wear a cute new pink one!!! thanks for helping me out.

I just got a fuel belt yesterday. I bought an extra pocket that is large enough to hold my iphone and maybe a small camera. It came with a small pocket which is pefect for gel shots or those blocks and it has the four bottles for water already. I'll be giving it a try this weekend.

hey all i have a pic of the bondi band, but i dont know how to insert it in a message here... if anyone is a pro.. i can email you the photo and you can get it on here for everyone!

You need to up load the photo to someone like photo bucket and then copy and past the link into your text box.
You could send it to me to post if you like?

Personally it's risky!

As a skirt person I will tell you that you have to find one that works for you and the only way to tell is to wear it LOL! And you don't want to find at about mile 5 that the thing is rubbing you raw someplace.

I have about five skirts. Two of them (runningskirts.com) can't be worn for ANY distance at all because the shorts don't STAY in place. Two of them (skirtgoddess) can be worn for 13.1 miles and don't move at ALL. One from Target can be worn but does require that I adjust the "shorts" periodically!

I would NOT run 13.1 miles in something I bought two days before! Maybe if it was a brand I KNEW fit well I would consider it, but in your case it sounds like this would be a new brand!

Syko,

Very cute outfit!

A big thank you to whoever posted about the New Balance outlet sale!!! I placed an order for 2 shirts and a skirt on Wednesday at lunchtime and it arrived on Thursday! Pretty impressive for free shipping... I haven't had a chance to run in it yet, but the shorts attached to the Bonita skirt are truly compression (unlike Running Skirts athletic skirts which are too baggy). I'm waiting for another skirt from Skirt Sports (which I ordered Monday and am have not received yet). Hopefully I can wear one of these for the 1/2 (& the other for the 5k).

It looks like it's going to be in the 50's tomorrow (38 in the AM). I'm hoping to get my LR done outdoors! Not warm enough to test the skirts but it's better than running at the track.

I have just seen on the disney princess site that the tech shirts run small, so they say to order a size up!!!!!!
Could they not have said sooner?? and I wonder if we can change our sizes???? anyone know????

Disney Running says folks are emailing and changing their sizes.... I think I sized up already because I assumed they were using the "Minnie" model and those things were TINY!

Thanks CarolA, I knew someone would know!!!!
I can just get my Minnie one one, and I did go one size bigger, perhaps I will be OK?
I wonder why they have them so small?
I usualy wear a size 8 / 10 tee shirt but have ordered a large for the Princess!!!

Hey!

My princess tiara came today- I'll try to post a picture later. I'm totally amused with it.

Hungrygreenhippo- I have that wallet by Amphipod. It kind of annoys me. I like the idea a lot, but it's bigger than I thought. It holds probably 10 cards/id/etc but wouldn't fit a camera or anything. You could get a key in with less cards. The material is thick. I haven't tried to wear it in awhile. It popped off me a couple of times, but I didn't get it until I was pregnant and I had weird shape issues... I bought a shoe wallet from them too. I used that for the half to hold my id, roomkey, and cash. I liked that better. It has a velcro thing on it so you can rip it off reasonably easy (like at the finish for your massage money!) I put it on one foot and the chip on the other and it was fine.

Greetings to all of those joining in! I'm excited to see everyone!

Thanks for the review. I just remembered that I have a shoe wallet I got as a race goodie... maybe at EEC? Now if I can just figure out where I put it.

Trust me in this: you want nothing tuck in your running shorts, again look for the Fuel Belt at the expo, or go to the web site, is a little pricey but well worth it, speaking of things tucked in the shorts...does everyone knows about the Body Glide, better know as my "inner tights, pinky toe, under arm firend?"

Thanks for the feedback. And I agree about body glide!

I do have a Nathan water belt but I don't really want or need the bulk of the water bottles during the race. It's neat that the Amphipod belts let you remove stuff. I hadn't heard about Amphipod before.

During the race I just want something that will let me carry some nutrition and a cell phone. I haven't decided about bringing my camera yet. I can't see myself having enough energy to snap photos. During my last race it took all my willpower just to make a quick phone call to let my BF know where I was on the course. Anyway, I have a tank top with a pocket in the back that I would normally wear. But if I end up dressing a little more princess-y then I won't have that pocket and need something else. The SPIbelt sounds like a good option. Is the pouch typically worn in the front or back?

Who exactly should we be e-mailing? I never know.

RE: the headband... is that the shade of pink we all thought it was going to be? I thought it was going to be more magenta?

Here's my Princess tiara as modeled by Baby Milo:

And here it is just being held:

My daughter took a picture of me in it, but I was looking rough! :lmao:

I'm loving the Joe's new balance site too. Some of my stuff came last night- it's pretty sweet, but it makes me want to order even more...

Hi, I have been lurking around for awhile in the hopes of joining in the half marathon. So now my hubby finally said yes!:cool1: and we just registered!!!He is going to support me through this as I have never done this before,
I am scared:scared: What did I get myself into?!!!! We are staying at the
buena vista suites we are going to really go budget as we live in Curacao in the Netherlands Antilles, so the flight alone is really expensive. I am really
excited and hope that you guys can get me through this (hopes not to get cold feet lol)
Gwen.princess:

Promised it will be a fantastic experience, after this event you will want to do more and who knows if there is a full marathon in the future for you, but I am not going to lie takes effort, discipline and lots of prayer, but the rewards are much great than that. :cheer2: I'll be cheering you up!

:badpc:
hey all- wanted to let you know i recieved my BONDI band from rebecca last night in the mail. its super cute! i will get a pic online hopefully tonight or tomorrow after work. I plan on using it tonight on my run to see how comfy it is!
I leave for disney in a month! very scared!!

I'd been using the bondiband for two years and they are great, hold the sweat and keep the bangs in control, but specially because they make your hair look neat; see? by mile 10 you are not really thinking about your looks and then you get the pics and hope nobody see them!:badpc:
