My employee closed the store by herself yesterday - it felt really good being able to leave and not come back. I'm going to really miss her when she leaves for school in a couple of weeks. Maybe I can talk her into going to the local college instead so she can stay home and work for me:rolleyes:

Karen - I'm getting excited and nervous at the same time. It feels so weird to be going on vacation somewhere that I know nothing about (WDW is like going home). I need to start doing some research, and start reading my Birnbaum book to know what's going on. We aren't doing the land & sea, we are just doing the 7 day cruise :thumbsup2 After I type this post, I need to put my Birnbaum in my briefcase to take to work and read during the slow times:rolleyes:
**I remember from past years that this time of year gets busy for you. Good luck with everything, and try to not overdo it

Well, I'm off and running
Have a great day today everyone!!

sandy - I know ya'll will love your cruise!! I have heard nothing but wonderful stuff about them!! You will probably have that book memorized by the time you go!! I understand that feeling, though! Mom & I felt that way when we took Sarah on her graduation trip. It's that fear of the unknown!

Have you looked into hiring anyone else once your employee leaves for school? How has the alarm been?

Have a great night!!

TGIF EVERYONE!!!!!

Even though this doesn't apply to me as much because I still have to work tomorrow:rolleyes: But there's always something wonderful about Fridays!!!!

I had only one customer the last couple days, which is better than nothing:rolleyes: . I do have the possibility of doing 12 frames for a hospital if they approve the price. The hospital is going through a marketing company, and the marketing company is owned by an old customer of mine from my previous employment, so he is really trying to get me the work:) . He's a great guy, and I"m really appreciative that he's coming to me for this work (if the hospital approves it- fingers and toes crossed:wizard: ).

Karen - I think about who I'm going to hire everyday, but the people who are filling out applications are no one I would want to hire. I sure hope I find someone, because I like being able to leave the store once in awhile:rolleyes:
**The alarm has been doing great - that wire they changed must have done the trick:thumbsup2

Well, I gotta run
Have a good day today everyone!!

sandy - I hope you get the frames for the hospital!! That would be great!

Thanks!!! :)

Not only would that order be great, but he said there are other hospitals owned by these people (I don't know if it's the same hospital:confused3 ) that may be needing things framed too. This would really be awesome for me!!!:goodvibes

Last night I went and got my hair cut (the first time since Easter). It feels so nice :goodvibes Now in a couple of minutes I"m going to go color my hair before I go to work - that will feel even better:goodvibes Way to much grey showing right now

Have a great day today!!!!

I haven't popped my head in here in quite awhile (I'm obviously not the best at keeping up with long threads!), so I thought I'd say:

HELLO!

:wave2:

Hi everybody! We had another day of registration at the park. Then I had to go draw blood on 2 babies (I'm on call this weekend). Luckily one of the nurses I work with did one for me - it would have been about a 45 min drive there, 20 minute visit and then 45 minutes back and the others were no where near that one! It looks like I will have two tomorrow. It's really not bad, though. I am going to go early tomorrow since we don't have registration.

sandy - I bet your hair looks great! I have to come up with something to do with mine!

Have a super night everybody!

Today is American Girl Doll Store day!!!!

We are taking Stephanie downtown to the AG Store for her birthday (her b-day is not until next Sunday though) to have lunch and to pick out a new doll with some clothes - she is so excited!!!! :yay: We are leaving Katie with my MIL so Stephanie can have us all to herself today:goodvibes If time permits, we are also going to take her on a carriage ride, and take her to Ghiradellis for some ice cream. We also have the FD picnic today that we didn't want to totally miss - so it's going to be a very jammed packed day :teeth:

Am I There Yet - So good to see you!!!! :goodvibes How was your DD's first year at college? I bet you are glad to have her home. When does she have to go back?

Karen - My hair feels so good now that it's all done. Do you color your hair? I've been coloring mine since I was 23. Many people have no idea what I look like with my natural hair color.
**Drawing blood on a baby must be hard - they are so squirmy.

Well, I gotta go get ready for my day
Later gaters!!!

sandy - It sounds like a wonderful day! I don't color my hair - too scared! I am thinking about a body wave. My hair is long (middle of my back) and straight! It is also very fine, so it always seems to look stringy. I usually wear it in a ponytail.

Sarah and I went shopping today. I needed an outfit for a sorority event that she has invited me too. I am happy with what we found! We had lunch and shopped - it was a nice afternoon!

Talk to ya'll tomorrow!

Am I There Yet[/B] - So good to see you!!!! :goodvibes How was your DD's first year at college? I bet you are glad to have her home. When does she have to go back?

It's actually her third year! I don't know where the time has gone. :sad1:

She's still here, and doesn't head back to Lubbock until mid-August. She's taken summer classes right now, just to graduate earlier. Her ring ceremony is in November! :scared1:

Hope everyone has had a good Sunday! Ours has been very nice and restful! :thumbsup2

I just wanted to make a quick post about a book that I just finished reading. I normally love this author's books, but this one was really interesting, because it involved fire science and arson.

I couldn't put it down!

It was: "Blue Smoke", by Nora Roberts.

Speaking of books... I am waiting for the next Harry Potter to come out. :wizard: I have already paid for my copy. I will probably end up in line with 500 kids dressed as characters from the book! :lmao: I could always tell everyone that I'm picking it up for my kids...

We had such a nice day yesterday!!! :goodvibes
Stephanie was in doll heaven :cloud9:
We went over budget, but not because Stephanie was begging for more stuff, but because the big kid in me couldn't resist buying things:rolleyes:
I'm such a big kid sometimes!!!!!;)

Karen - A body wave would probably be really good for you ::yes:: I haven't had one in forever because I've been coloring my hair for 12 years (I"m afraid both would kill my hair).

AmIThereYet - That's great that your DD is taking some classes this summer to help her graduate earlier :thumbsup2 What is her major? Also, I'm embarrassed to ask this, but what is a ring ceremony??

Well, I better go and water my flowers :flower:
Have a great day everyone!!

I think I'm the only one on the face of the planet that has neither read a Harry Potter book, or seen one of the movies. I always say, "One of these days...", and those days never seem to make it here!

She's changed her major from elementary education, to family and human development, or something like that. I can't keep up!

The ceremony is a simple, "cap and gown" sort of the thing that Texas Tech holds each year, where they get handed their senior rings. I think it lasts all of 15 mintues, and we have to either fly, or drive 8 hours to get there for it. :guilty:

Good evening everyone!

I took the day off from work to get some errands run. I took the car in for new tires, an alignment & oil change. Then I had a doctor's appt. Then we went uniform shopping for school. After that, James & i had lunch together. Back to work tomorrow, though!!

What did ya'll do today?

Last night we celebrated my brothers birthday with my family by going out to dinner, and then going to my mom's house for birthday pie - it was a nice night!! :goodvibes

AmIThereYet - You'll be very happy to know that I haven't seen any HP movies or read any books either:sad2: I would like to see the movies someday though.
**Thanks for explaining the ring ceremony

Karen - Sounds like you had a busy day off yesterday. But how nice that you and James were able to have lunch together :goodvibes

Well, I'm off to the shower
Have a good day today everyone!!

I got some very sad news today. My Grandmother died this morning. This was my mom's mother. She had health problems, but was stable so it was unexpected. My mom drove to Mississippi weekly to take care of her until the hurricane. She lived with my mom after Hurricane Katrina and recently moved to Arkansas near one of my aunts to give Mom some rest. It's hard to see her so sad. She flew to Arkansas today and she & my aunt will bring her body back home for the services and burial. I haven't told Emily yet - she is out of town and I am waiting for her aunt to get home so there is an adult there to comfort her. Your prayers for my familyt would really be appreciated!
