My DH has been a VFF for 10 years. He dedicates every 5th weekend to be on call and can't leave our town. He also responds everytime their is a call and he is home, regardless if he is on call or not. He also works his full time job in our town so he also leaves his work to respond. My DS's are so proud of dad. They too want to be ff's someday.

I never said welcome to you - I'm sorry!!!! :guilty:

So......

Tell me this - why does morning come so early in the day? I don't drink coffee, but I am beginning to consider it! :coffee:

Good morning friends!!! :surfweb:

How is everyone?

Things are going well here. Katie has been on her mediciane since Saturday night, and all is going well with that. She seems to be emptying herself out, but I'm not sure if it's as much as she should be? :confused3 I guess I will find out when she goes for her next X-Ray in 3 weeks.

Well, I gotta run - have a good day everyone!!

Hey girls :) Just wanted to pop in and ask a question...

The guy I am dating just informed me that when he moves back home (not sure when), that he wants to be a volunteer fire fighter....

How the heck do I not worry all the time??

Hi!
You just get used to it.

I rarely worry because MOST calls are not working fires, or at least not working house fires, they're car fires and CO alarms and smoke alarms going off and car accidents where they have to cut someone out of the car..and the ever popular "food on the stove".
I am shocked at how many people fall asleep while cooking. LOL

My husband has been a volunteer for 15 years. If he leaves for a working fire, as he races out of the house I just tell him:If you die, I will kill you!! :rotfl:

I do worry if it's a big working fire, so at times I'll turn the scanner on so I can hear what's going on-he's an officer so I'll hera him on his radio and know that he is okay.

I just think about the many many many hours my husband has of training and trust that he knows what he's doing.

Good morning everyone and TGIF!!!! :surfweb: :cool1:

I think today I'm going to take Katie for her first haircut - wish me luck!!!

I also finally put the furnace on yesterday - nothing says summer is over more, than the furance being on.

Idroveallnight - The girls were very happy!!
There's a story behind that Genie picture. He came behind Katie in her stroller, before she saw him, and jumped in front of her. Needless to say, she freaked her out!!!! I think he felt bad, because he did everything he could to cheer her up, and you can see it worked. She was in his lap in a couple of minutes :)

MainStMandy - :welcome:
Welcome to our thread!!!
You don't have to be a wife to come here :sad2:

Hello everyone and Happy Saturday!!! :surfweb:

Here is my first installment of my trip report :teeth:

Tampa Area!!

For the first couple of days we stayed with Kevins parents in a timeshare condo on The Gulf of Mexico. The days consist of sleeping in, walking the beach, playing in the pool, having lunch, relaxing in the room, go out to dinner, walk the beach some more, and then go to bed. It is very very relaxing there!!!

I rented my very first jet ski there this year. Kevin had his own too, and we went out for 2 hours - lots and lots of fun!!!

Here are the girls playing on the beach

pics114.jpg

I love the sunsets there. They are so beautiful!!!

Going to WDW

On Sunday, September 24 is when we checked into The Poly. We stayed in the Hawaii building, which is the concierge building. We really enjoy having the lounge with the girls. But like I said, this is our last year there.

pics194.jpg

After we checked in, we drove to DTD to give Stephanie a huge surprise, and that was her going to the BBB Salon. She was so excited about getting her makeover.

pics803.jpg

After her makeover we went to The Contemporary for dinner at Chef Mickey's. We had the first sitting, which I was happy with, so I could get pictures of these before they were touched.

pics218.jpg

Dinner at Chef Mickey's was better than I remembered. The last time we were there for dinner was 6 years ago - we normally go for breakfast. The girls loved seeing all the characters the very first day, especially Mickey!!!

pics230.jpg

After dinner we went back to DTD to some more shopping - I love shopping at DTD!!!

pics264.jpg

After shopping until 10:30 pm, we called it a day, and went back to The Poly to get some sleep.

Monday - MK Day!!!!

The next morning came way to early. We had an ADR at The Crystal Palace at 8:05am (to early!!!) The only reason why it was this early so we could go on The Family Magic Tour at 10am. We love The Crystal Palace for breakfast, it is our favorite breakfast, and it is tradition for us to go there on our MK Day.

pics300.jpg

pics283.jpg

At 7:50am in the morning before we checked into The Cystal Palace, I was able to get a good picture of the castle, under construction.

pics278.jpg

After breakfast we headed over to The Town Hall to catch our tour. It was alot of fun. It was a scavanger hunt for kids, and the tour guide kept the parents really involved too. The tour was based on Peter Pan, which was great!!! At the end of the tour Peter Pan and Wendy joined us and played with the kids for approx. an hour - it was great!!! They even took us to Mickey's Philharmagic and sat with the kids through the whole show. Stephanie took and instant liking to Peter Pan, and Katie loved Wendy. I asked the tour guide if the characters always do this and he said, not always. He said it depends on the day, and normally it's just one of the them. He said that today was our lucky day!!!!

pics606.jpg

After the tour we headed over to Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain and then started saving our spot for the 3pm parade, which has changed. Stephanie said she liked this parade better :thumbsup2

pics319.jpg

After the parade we went back to The Poly because it was so hot, even my kids were asking to leave (when they are asking to leave, you know they are hot!!!) So we went back to the resort and Kevin took Steph to the pool, and I stayed back and gave Kate a shower and her lay down for awhile. We stayed and ate dinner at the hotel (in the lounge) and then went back to the MK to line up for my favorite parade, SPECTROMAGIC!!!!!

pics534.jpg

After the parade we stayed for WISHES and then we headed back to The Poly. It was a long day and we were all tired. We went to bed to start another day tomorrow.

To be continued.................

I'll try to post the next couple of days of our trip soon. It takes forever to find the pictures to use because we took so many

Today we are taking the girls to the pumpkin patch. It's a beautiful fall day to do this too!!!! I'll be taking pictures there and I will share them with you sometime soon.

Talk to you later and have a great day!!!

slo - I love your pictures! Keep 'em coming!! James asked me the other day why we went so early this year because he really wants to go! I do too!!!!! Mom & I were talking about planning a quick weekend once the Christmas decorations are up. That is one of the good things about where we live - you can drive down.

James had outpatient surgery yesterday to remove some moles(they took off 8) Holey Moley! He did so well. Came home, took a nap & then was up & running. Kids are so tough! He's even going to play in his game today.

Have a happy Saturday!! Slo - have a great time at the pumpkin patch!

Good Sunday morning!!

Here is the 2nd installment of my trip report.

Tuesday - Suppossed to be Blizzard Beach Day

We woke up and went to The Kona Cafe for breakfast so I could have my annual Tonga Toast (it was yummy!!!! :goodvibes ) While we were there, we were talking about going to BB and how much fun we are going to have. So, after we ate we went back to our room, got on our suits, had the car pulled up, and off we went. When we got to BB we walked up to the entrance and I put my ticket in. The lady said, "Blizzard Beach is not included in your tickets." I looked at Kevin and we went to look at the prices to get in. The prices are $30 per child and $36 per adult - we decided to not pay. It was already 11am and we were only going to stay till about 3pm - it just wasn't worth it. So we all got back into the car and decided to swim in the pool at the hotel. Here's a picture of Steph coming down the slide.

pics365.jpg

After our swim, we all showered and got ready to go to 'Ohanas for dinner (one of our favorite places!!!!) The girls and I really dressed for the occassion in our Hawaiian outfits.

pics369.jpg

'Ohanas was delicious as normal.

DSC01757.jpg

DSC01754.jpg

The girls had a lot of fun with the coconut races too (Katie's needed help from me, she really didn't get it)

pics375.jpg

We also got to see Wishes while at dinner and we were sitting right by a window with a great view of the castle. This is the second time we saw Wishes while at dinner at 'Ohanas, and it's really nice.

After dinner, the girls and I went to the beach and watched the electric light parade on the water and then took a late night ride on the monorail. The girls really enjoy doing this before going to bed.

Wednesday - MGM Day!!!

The next day we woke up early and headed over to MGM Studios. We had a 9:30am breakfast ADR at Hollywood & Vine. We were having breakfast with JoJo and The Little Einsteins.

pics392.jpg

This was a good breakfast and alot of fun for children who like Playhouse Disney.

After breakfast we headed straight over to Playhouse Disney Live and then went and saw a new character - Mr. Incredible!!!!

pics409.jpg

Katie took one look at him and didn't want anything to do with him.

Afterwards we saw The Voyage of The Little Mermaid, went and visited Kim Possible and Sorceror Mickey, and the girls played in the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area (I hate it in there - don't tell anyone). The Steph decided she was hungry, so we went and had a little lunch at Pizza Planet, which I have to say, was not to bad this time.

After lunch it was time to line up for the 3pm parade. There was a couple new additions this year.

pics428.jpg

pics431.jpg

The parade was very good, as normal!!!

After the parade, we were off to see where the face painting was. It is tradition for Steph to get her face painted while at MGM Studios. We finally found it outside of Indiana Jones, which I still didn't see this year (maybe in January).

pics454.jpg

By this time, I was not feeling very good - terrible headache coming on. We walked over to Rockin Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror so Kevin and I could do those. Even though my head was starting to pound I went on ToT and then the Fast Pass time for RnR was 1/2 hour. By the time I got out of there it was time for us to go to dinner - poor Kevin didn't get to go.

We drove to The Wilderness Lodge to eat at Whispering Canyon which I decided I wasn't eating at. My head hurt so bad and I was so nautious (sp?) that there was no way I could eat. But we went in and got seated so Kevin and the girls could eat.

I knew about the ketchup bit there and I wanted to ask for ketchup for Kate because she LOVES ketchup. She would drink it with a straw if I let her. So she ordered a hotdog and when it came she asks the server in the sweetest voice, "Can I have some ketchup" which I was shocked about because she never asks for ketchup - I do. So the server says really loud, "THIS LITTLE GIRL WANTS SOME KETCHUP!!!!!" So tons of people got up and put ketchup on our table - it was hysterical. The look on Katie's face was priceless. After all this ketchup was on our table, she says, "I don't want all this ketchup" - to funny!!!!

This picture is not with all the ketchup bottles

pics457.jpg

Now she is happy with her hotdog

pics460.jpg

After the ketchup bit, I excused myself and sat in the lobby. The smell of all that food was making my stomach flop around way to much.

The rest of the family finished their meal and then we went back to our resort where we all went to bed at 9pm. Going to bed this early was something we all needed. I think the combo of heavy breakfast, the heat, lack of sleep (the pillows were uncomfortable at our resort), and going in and out of air conditioning finally did me in.

I felt alot better the next morning.

To be continued..................................................

Happy Sunday!! :sunny:

Thanks for the compliments on the TR!!!! :goodvibes

What a totally awesome day we had yesterday!!!! :Pinkbounc

We drove to the pumpkin patch and the girls picked out pumpkins and we also got corn stalks and hay bunches (is that what they are called :confused3 )

Then we took a very long drive in the country to an apple orchard. The drive was kinda long and the view of the leaves changing was beautiful. It was such a wonderful stress free drive!!! :cloud9:

When we got to the apple orchard it was PACKED!!!!! But we found a parking space and went in - we were there for apple cinnamon donuts - this place has the best :thumbsup2 . Inside the gift shop they had the biggest, most tasty looking caramal apples - so we bought 4 :teeth: . They also had a huge window where you could watch them make the caramel apples - so we watched for awhile. They were also making Kettle corn, one of our favorites, so we got some of that too  . So....with all our goodies, we went back to the car.

On the way home we passed a candy factory, so we decided to stop. This place has such a huge candy store inside with every type of candy you could imagine. So we left there with Non Perils, Dark Chocolate Melt Aways, Gummi Bears, Jolly Ranchers for Steph, and Starburst for Kate (we got a 1/2 pound of each item).

So we had a happy drive home eating all that candy :goodvibes

When we got home we decorated the outside of the house with the item from the pumpkin patch and then we made a fire to eat dinner outside. We had hotdogs and Smores - yummy!!! :goodvibes We stayed outside until 8pm - it was starting to get COLD!!!

This was such a perfect family day!!! :cloud9:

Today we are going to be outside all day getting the yard ready for winter. I have flowers I have to pull out and things that need to get covered up with a tarp to protect it from the snow. I love being outside on fall days!!!!

I hope you all have a good day too!!!!

Good Monday morning everyone!! :surfweb:

I hope you all had a good Sunday - we did!!! It was a very busy day, but it was a good day :thumbsup2 The backyard and front yard is officially ready for winter. I pulled so many flowers, and cut down so many Hostas, that the back of my legs hurt from bending over - but that's okay!!!! Kevin put up all the Halloween decorations and lights - so now house looks awesome!!! :teeth:

Well I gotta run and get ready for work - have a good day!!!

Wow SLO! Ya'll got a bunch done yesterday! It's getting cooler here - it will be 83 this afternoon. SO, everything is still blooming here. My hibiscus are still beautiful. Jim is really excited - we have lots of fruit on our satsuma & lemon trees. We actually have bananas on our banana tree this year - first time ever! I need to get started on our Halloween decorations, but I have learned the hard way that if you put your pumpkins out too soon down here, they rot! Very icky!!! I suppose I could put out everything else... We'll see!! :scratchin
