slo - glad to hear ya'll are better! We haven't started packing yet! I am making lists of what we need. I am going to order from Garden Grocer this trip for our in room eats and see how it goes! I think the big thing is to prepare for all weather! Hot, cool, cold...rain... :sunny:

What is the Garden Grocer? :confused3 I never heard of that.

The other day, Kevin and I stumbled on a show on the Food Network about Disney Weddings. I told him, "lets watch this so we can see what our girls weddings are going to be like." He says to me, "You better get about 2 more jobs for us to afford it." I said, "Oh....it can't be that much." He said, "It's about 70 grand." I said, "No way!!!"

So we watched the show and saw all the wonderful things. Then at the end of the show the lady said that the final ticket for a Disney Wedding is approx. $70,000 :scared1: . You would have thought Kevin was watching a sport and his favorite team just won. He says, "I told you - I told you - I was right!!!" :cheer2:

So.....the jist of this story is, our girls are not going to have a Disney Wedding unless we win the Loto, or if they marry someone rich. $70,000 is WAY out of our budget!!!

Gotta run - have a good day!!!

Amen to that! I have read some stuff on here about Disnay weddings - but whoa!!! I think if I had that kind of money I would rather help them buy a house!

Garden Grocer is one of the services that will buy groceries for you & deliver them to your room. I found the info on the DIS :disrocks: ! So I am going to give it a try. We always have our car, but saving time appeals to me!

Is everyone well now? James is not feeling well this mornig, but I think it is just a cold. We'll see!

I think I would rather buy them a house too!!! ::yes::

Is the Garden Grocer a Disney Service?? Do you do this through your hotel?

How is James this morning? Hopefully he's better.

Poor Kevin is trying to get over a stomach bug. I'm hoping he's better today because he's going to the Auto Show tonight (black tie) with his dad and best friend. If he's not well, he won't have a very good time :guilty:

I gotta run, have a good day today!!!

James is still stuffy and sneezy - good medical terms. i judge the severity of his illness by his willingness to take medicine. If he asks for medicine then he must be very sick! He still isn't asking for medicine! I hope Kevin improves! How is Katie? Less bumpy I hope!

Garden Grocer is a private service but they will deliver to your hotel. The hotels have a cooler area where they will store it until you pick it up. I'm interested to see how it turns out!

How is James today? Hopefully he'll feel better for the weekend.

Kevin is better and he had a great time at the Auto Show last night. Him, his dad, and his friend all looked so handsome in their tuxs :teeth: They always ask me if I want to go, but the thought of dressing up in an evening gown and uncomfortable shoes to go to the Auto Show does nothing for me :sad2: . I figured they can go and have their night of male bonding  .

Katie is less bumpy and on the mend :thumbsup2 . The other day she lifted up her shirt and saw her bumps were gone, and she was very sad :guilty: She said, "Where my bumps go?" I told her, "they are going away." She cried and said, "I want my bumps" I told her, "don't worry, I'm sure you'll have them back someday  " (I always expect Katie to get an illness more than once, because she always does.) I love the age of 2, they always have something cute to say!! :p

Stephanie told me yesterday that she is now in the Accelerated Reader program at school. She is so proud of herself, and I am really proud of her too :teeth: . Being accepted into this program is the perfect way to show her the benefits of reading often.

Well, I guess I should go and get ready for work. Have a good Friday!!

Good Morning!

slo - cograts to Stephanie! Reading is SO important! I love to read so nowadays I read the same kind of books my kids do! All the Harry Potter books, Lemony Snicket, etc... Of course I enjoy all of these!

I'm sorry Kate misses her bumps, but they has to go! :rotfl:

I'm glad Kevin felt better & had a good time! There's something about a guy in a tux... We have lots of Mardi Gras balls here and I used to love seeing Jim in tails! We don't go anymore, I think I'm just old! or too lazy to wear a gown & heels! I'd rather go to the parades in my jeans and enjoy it that way! :thumbsup2

Have a great weekend!!!

Good morning everyone!!

DH is finally home!! He worked 48 hours straight! Sarah has been working & Emily has been out of town so it has been just me & James. It has been fun! We went to the first parade Friday night, but skipped last night. It was going to be 25 degrees & it is sooo windy downtown. So we rented movies & stayed in.

Jim & I are trying again tonight on our ressie at Ruth's Chris! Yummy!

I can't believe we have just 15 days till we leave! James has a problem with chafing so in addition to our Body Glide I bought him some compression shorts. I think going when it isn't hot will help, too. I'm going to take Emily to Target when she gets home to get e new swim suit. That should be fun! "Mom - can I have a bikini???" "No - you know the rules" "But please!!!!" This will go on for a while. We will then reach a compromise on a two piece that has a surfer shirt with it. Dad will still say I can't believe you let her get that! Of course he would say that about any swim suit!! It's a dad thing! Maybe he won't notice how much she has "developed" since last summer! That just ruins his whole day!

Good morning!! :surfweb:

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. I started DISing and then things came up that I had to do around the house. Then last night MIL & FIL came over for dinner and cake, and by the time they left we went to bed.

cograts to Stephanie! Reading is SO important!
Thank you!! I will pass this along to her :)

DH is finally home!! He worked 48 hours straight!
I bet you are glad he's home :teeth: What's the longest straight he has ever worked?

Jim & I are trying again tonight on our ressie at Ruth's Chris! Yummy!
Have fun tonight, I can hardly wait to hear about it!! :)

James has a problem with chafing so in addition to our Body Glide I bought him some compression shorts.
What are compression shorts?? Kevin has the same problem as James.

I'm going to take Emily to Target when she gets home to get e new swim suit.
Good luck!!! I'm not looking forward to swimsuit shopping when Stephanie is older :sad2: Sending lots of PD for a good compromise :wizard:

I can't believe we have just 15 days till we leave!
That's so exciting!!! You guys are going to have so much fun!!!! :cool1:

Well, I guess I should get going and start making some breakfast. Have a good day and talk to you later!!!

Happy Monday!

slo - I took too long on another website so I will have to answer your question and tell you all about Ruth's Chris tonight! Talk to ya then!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!

Are you doing anything special for Valentines Day today?

Kevin, Katie and I are going out to dinner after we take Stephanie to CCD. I have a terrible taste for Mexician and Stephanie doesn't like Mexician - so, perfect timing

I made Stephanie her favorite meal last night and told her it was her Valentines Day meal. I made her Ham, baked potato, green beans and I got some Kings Sweet Rolls. She was in heaven :cloud9: And when she eats alot, which is not that often, then I'm in heaven :cloud9: ;)

So....how was Ruth's Chris?? :confused3

Well, I'm off and running. Have a good holiday today!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

slo - Ruth's Chris was wonderful! Way more than we would normally spend. The service is incredible! The food was awesome! We went ahead & called it our Valentine celebration.

I am trying to get into trip mode! I have started making lists. That's progress! After going to every grocery store in town I was finally able to find two more cereal boxes with the free pin coupons! I had to make sure we had one for each child so no fighting!

Have a great day!!

The bathing suit has been bought!! No tears, no gnashing of teeth, no pulling out of hair - and Emily did well, too!!

Oh, slo - compression shorts are the longer shorts that runners wear under their regular shorts. I figure anything is worth a shot. Of course he will be using Body Glide daily!

Good morning!! :surfweb:

How was your Valentines Day?
Mine was really nice!!! :thumbsup2 Kevin sent me 2 dozen roses to my work. Then when I got home, he gave me a Precious Moment (I have 2 large currio cabinets filled with them)and then he gave me a dog :) Well, not the type of dog you may be thinking. I collect those Disney Big Figurines, and he gave me a Pluto :teeth: Then we went out to dinner and after we came home I put the kids to bed and Kevin and I sat out in the hot tub for an hour. So, that was my day - I would say it was a good one ;)

I'm glad you and your DH at a wonderful dinner :) After your review, we'll have to think about going there for one of our anniversary's.

I make a lot of lists too ::yes:: What is this about the free pin coupons? When you get a chance, please tell me about this - thanks!!

I'm glad you ended up not having the battle you thought you would have. What type of suit did she buy??

I'll tell Kevin about this, thanks!! :thumbsup2

Well, I have to get running!! Have a good day and have fun planning for your trip.

Good Morning Everyone -

Just a quick "post and run!" :) Haven't been on here in a while but wanted to drop by and say hello. Even though I don't post daily I do get on here and read and catch up on everyone's lives.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's day! I did. DH and the boys spoiled me.

Andrew made a card for me and I have to share what he put:

"Any kid could go out on Valentine's Day and buy their mom a bunch of flowers or a box of chocolates. But you're not a typical mom. You're a special kind of mom. You're a mom that would cancel your plans for your children. You're the kind of mom that would always check up on me if I were sick. And you know what? You're my kind of Mom!! Happy Valentine's Day!"

I cried and cried!!!

Have a great Wednesday everyone.

eeyore - how sweet!! Glad you came by!

slo - it does sound like you had a great day!! Emily did get a bikini - but one that comes with the surf shirt. We don't do bikinis (regular) until they are more lie 13 or 14. She was pleased. This is what we got last year, too. She got a silver cross and chain from her little sweetie yesterday. She took him a box of candy with a stuffed dog. We don't call him a boyfriend & they can't even talk on the phone, but they have been sweet on each other since kindergarten. It's really cute!

the pin coupons came on some boxes of Kellogs cereal. Goofy was on the front right corner and it said "you could wake up at a Disney themepark" then on the side there was a coupon for a pin. You can mail it in or take it to the Pin Trader store in DTD. It is a Happiest Celebration on Earth pin. I was able to find them at Mannings. Of course Mannings is a kind of icky store which is why I think they still had some. I haven't seen anything about it here in the DIS, though. Let me know if you can't find one & I'll check Mannings again. WHo are the pin collectors in your family?

Have a great day!!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Hi Kathy!!!

So good to see you!!

The card Andrew made you is so sweet!!! :goodvibes I would have cried and cried too :)

I'm glad you had a good Valentines Day!!

How sweet that she got a gift for Valentine's Day from her sweetie :goodvibes Stephanie got a gift too from a little boy in her class (her boyfriend she says  )It was a little ring that has already broke :( I quess the little boy said he would try to get her another one. I didn't realize kids started being sweet on each other this early in life

the pin coupons came on some boxes of Kellogs cereal.
Which Kellogs cereals did you see them on? I'm going to look at a couple of grocery stores here and if I can't find them, then I will take you up on your offer. The pin collectors here is just Stephanie now, but I'm buying Katie her first laynard this year. I let Stephanie start pin trading when she was 3 and this year Katie is going to be 3. We always buy Stephanie pins that she keeps and also pins for her to trade. I actually need to buy a hat for her to wear with the pins she can't trade because her laynard is to full

Well, I best be on my way. I have a goofy work day today. I have to work 10-2, then come home, then go back to work from 6-9. I'm not looking forward to it, but I don't have to work tomorrow so that makes me pretty happy. Stephanie has off of school tomorrow, so I took the day off so I could take her bowling and out to lunch. It should be a good day!!! :thumbsup2

Have a good day everyone!!!

I saw them on Apple Jacks, Sugar Smacks and Nemo. I am off tomorrow so let me know and I will go see if they still have them!

James & I went to another parade tonite. Emily had cheerleading so she couldn't go! We will go again tomorrow night and there are 2 on Saturday. We love Mardi Gras! I firmly believe that Disney should be more like us & throw stuff at their parades! Although I will say that the pursuit of said thrown stuff can lead to violence!! People are scary!!My life is more valuable than a moon pie!

Enjoy your day with Steph tomorrow!!

Good morning everyone and TGIF!!!! :surfweb:

It's my day off and I'm still posting at 6:04am  The alarm clock for Kevin wakes me up and then I can't fall back asleep. So.........may as well DIS ;)

Thanks for letting me know about the cereal - I will take a look at the grocery store today.

Stephanie is really excited about going bowling  She said, "I am such a good bowler!!!!" :teeth: Then she said she wanted to go to McDonalds for lunch (this doesn't surprise me to much).

Have a good day and talk to you later!!!

So many wives end up getting up with their hubbies like you do. Not me!!!! His alarm can go off and I'll sleep right through it! :rotfl: Or like last night, he was on night shift and came home early at 4:00 a.m. I kind of woke up as he was crawling into bed but then I went right back to sleep.

slo - sounds like we're both getting some quality time with our DDs today! My DD came up from college last night (late) and we watched tv and talked until very late. Today we're going to get our hair cut and go to lunch together! Then she'll head back down to college tonight! We haven't seen her since the end of December so I was really happy that she was able to get up for the day.

Idroveallnight - Sounds as though you are really enjoying Mardi Gras. I never realized it was such a long celebration with several parades. I always thought there was just one parade. Have fun...but be careful (That's the small town girl in me talking - I get nervous around big crowds and big cities like that!)

Have a great Friday everyone!
