I am so sorry Stephanie has an ear infection. Does she have tubes? We just all have congestion, etc... Our weather is so strange. We are preparing for Senior Bowl this weekend. If you haven't heard of it - college seniors from all over come to play a game North vs. South - and all the NFL scouts come to watch. It's pretty big. Sarah has agreed to take James & Emily to the big autograph session. SOunds sweet, huh? Nope - she just wants a chance to meet Brodie Croyle (QB for Alabama!!). It will work out well for James & Emi though!!

I think I am going to try to use all of the smilies - well not at once!! :lmao:

Yes, she has tubes, well one at least  . The other one fell out some time ago. She got her tubes when she was 3 1/2 and then she had her tonsils and adnoids out a month after that. The age of 3 was not a good age for Stephanie :guilty: - she was a very very sick little girl and I was a very very tired Mommy. Then we started it all over again with Katie - her tubes went in at 8 months old.

I had to chuckle with Sarah's reason to take James and Emily to the autograph session - sounds like something I would have done at that age. I hope she gets to meet Brodie Croyle when she goes  .

Well, I'm off and running to start this Wednesday. This week is going so slow for me - I hate that!! I feel like it should be Friday and not Wednesday. Oh well, I'm off work tomorrow because Stephanie has a 1/2 day, so that will be good. Have a good day today!!

slo - well I hope she feels better soon! James had tubes in at about 10 months & T&A out around 6. I hope your week speeds up!! Enjoy tomorrow! I am off tomorrow, too! Maybe we'll run into each other here! :disrocks:

Happy Thursday everyone!!

Well it is actually 33 degrees here this morning! Of course it will be 60 in a coulpe of hours :confused3 ! I do have to say I would love for it to snow - just enough to play around in! It would be best on a Saturday because they will close the schools if it does snow! :teacher:

I hope evryone has a great day today!

slo - I hope you enjoy your day & that Stephanie's ear (s) :listen: are improving!

Just 1 month & 1 day until our trip!!
:dumbo: ::MinnieMo pluto: ::MickeyMo :eeyore: :figment: :simba: :sulley: :hmghost: :tigger: :ccat: :donald: They are all waiting on us!!

:tink: I think Tink is going to send us lots of pixiedust: !!

Well, plans changed for us today!!!

Katie came home yesterday with some unidentified red bumps on her stomach. They are definitly not chicken pox (in my opinion), they may be hives, but the moms at the daycare think they look like bites :scared: . So....I'm taking Katie to the doctor this afternoon to have them looked at. Luckily, I was able to get a later appt. so I can still take Stephanie out to lunch.

Stephanie wanted to go to lunch at the new McDonalds in town, and I have strict instructions from her that she wants to eat inside and not take it home ;) Luckily, this is somewhere that Katie will enjoy going too. I just feel bad for Steph that we can't do anything else today, she was really looking forward to it :worried: . Oh well, maybe next time.

Idroveallnight - I'm so excited for you about your trip coming soon. You are going to have a lot of fun!!! :yay: :yay:

Well, I better go and make sure Steph gets off the bus okay. Have a good rest of the day!!

TGIF!!!!!

 I just love Fridays!!!

The doctor determined that Katie has bug bites

and said she is not contagious. So I had him write a note to the daycare and took it there right away and told them that I have no pets and it must have happened there. I asked them if I could have a new cubbie for Katie, and I took all her items in the cubbie home and washed it
4.gif
. They were very apologetic, but I assured them I wasn't angry or upset, I just want a new cubbie in hopes that will help this situation. I guess we'll soon find out. Now I'm anxious for Katie to wake up so I can see how these spots look today - hopefully they are faded and going away

Do you have any plans for the weekend?
I told Stephanie she could have her first playdate on Saturday. But these girls are so busy trying to make the perfect plan, that they haven't made any plan at all. So, I have no idea what is going on :confused3

Well, I better run and get ready for work. Have a good day!!!

I'm glad she doesn't have chicken pox! Hopefully the daycare will get the bug situation figured out! We are going to the Senior Bowl on Saturday. The first Mardi Gras parade is on Sat. too, but we decided on the game! Emily would have preferred the parade, but she is a really good sport and is going to the game!

Have a great weekend!!

As it turns out, Katie doesn't have bug bites, she has a staph infection. I took her to her main Pediatrician yesterday because my motherly instinct said it wasn't bug bites (my main doc wasn't in Thursday and that's why I didn't go to her in the beginning).

Have you seen much of this come through your office?

we see lots of staph infections. it is everywhere!!! and it spreads & spreads! hopefully yall will get it all cleared up now! :thumbsup2

Senior Bowl was great! The weather was beautiful and warm. the kids really enjoyed today! i think tomorrow we will just lay around & do nothing after church! have a great Sunday!!

OK - so BIG news! Check out my newest ticker!! We are sooooo excited! Mom, Sarah & I are going to Paris to celebrate Sarah's graduation!! party:

Idrovealnight - WOW! What big news for you!!! What a wonderful trip that will be. Was Paris Sarah's choice?

slo - So sorry to hear all that you've gone through with Katie. I hope that they've finally gotten to the bottom of it and that it will clear up soon.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Sarah has been dreaming about Paris for years - since she started taking French in middle school! :teacher:

Good Sunday morning everyone!! :surfweb:

Idroveallnight - I'm glad that Senior Bowl went well :cool1: Also....How fun about the Paris Trip :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: That is so exciting!!!! Now this is a trip report I will be looking forward to reading!!! ;)

eeyoresmountainpals - thanks Kathy!! I'm hoping this all gets done with soon too. Maybe I'll see you sometime this week on the Last One to Post thread since I'll be home from work Monday, Tuesday, and maybe Wednesday.

Idroveallnight - since you work in a Pediatrician office, I wanted to ask you how scared should I be of this staph infection? Currently, I'm pretty nervous about it. My Pediatrician did take a nasal culture, and the results should be to here by Tues. or Wed. My Pediatrician is the best and she is taking good care of Katie, as she always does. She has Katie on an antibiotic and I have to put Bacitracin on all her sores. I also have to give Katie 3-4 showers a day because the doctor said the rash doesn't like to grow on clean skin. I know that staph infections could get very very serious, but my doctor reassured me that she would not let anything tragic happen to her and I do believe her - but I'm still nervous :guilty: I'm also nervous about Stephanie getting this. My Pediatrician told me to have all of us put Bacitracin in our nose to help prevent us to not get it - so that's what I've been doing (we have a seperate tube and we are not using Katies). Anyway, that's the story, when you get a chance, please give me your opinion on this situation - Thanks!!! :)

Well, I gotta run and give Katie her first shower of the day. Talk to you all later!!

slo - staph infections are becoming more & more common. Just be sure to give all the antibiotics. It's good he took a nasal swab. If it keeps happening then they will probably swab the whole family to see if some one is a carrier. I think she is going to do great! I am still sending you some PD - we'll pretend it has extra antibiotics in it! pixiedust: What type of abx is she on?

She has Augmentin and she hates it!!! :crazy2:

I'm running out of new and exciting reasons on why she should take this mediciane. Today I had to pretend to call Kevin on the phone so she would think I was telling him how good she is for drinking this mediciane  - it worked, she drank it!!! ;)

Welch's grape juice concentrate masks the taste of just about anything. You can also try chocolate syrup, a spoonful of ice cream, etc... :stir: Heck - it's worth a shot! How is she looking?

Very good ideas - I'll have to try some of them!! :thumbsup2

I got very good news late yesterday afternoon. Katie's results came in and she has Impetigo caused by Strep and not Staph :cheer2: I feel like I have about 100lbs lifted off me - I've been doing nothing but worrying since Friday night.

I'm still home today with her and then tomorrow life goes back to normal  To bad, I've really enjoyed these days off with her.

Ok - impetigo is much better! Sarah had it once from her armpit to her knee! eeeewwww!!

After I found out what Katie has, I have heard of many other people that has either had it or had children that had it (except I have never heard of this till now). It's kinda like when you pick out that one-of-a-kind color for your new car and then when you bring it home you see 1000 other cars with the exact same color :rotfl:

Now, poor Stephanie looks like a battered child. The other day she was messing around with her little picture frame and cut herself pretty bad on the piece of glass. Then yesterday she wore a skirt to school and some little boy pushed her and she fell and skinned her knee. Then also yesterday she fell off the bus, when coming home, and skinned and bruised her face (she looks like someone backhanded her real hard). I told Kevin, "thank God the busdriver is a witness that she fell so people don't think we are abusive parents."

Well, I better run and start getting ready for work, and tending to all of Stephanie's wounds before she goes to school. Have a good day!!
