Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Saying a prayer for your Mom Kim. I hope they can find out what's wrong with her.

Kim so sorry to hear about your mom. Prayers are sent out to give her some relief from her distress and knowledge for the doctors to help her. My mom had the same experiences where the doctors were scratching their heads unable to figure out what was wrong as she was in so much pain. It is so hard to watch a loved one in pain like that and not be able to do anything about it. :sad2:

Nothing else new out our way just trying to stay warm since it is cool out and damp. Hello to everyone and hope you all are having a good day. Off to do some cleaning. Always some cleaning that needs to be done no matter how much you clean. Plus some more packing. In spite of all the things we gave away to Amvets we still have tons of stuff.:laughing:

Kim, your mom & your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Please keep us updated.

Thank you all, it is very much appreciated. No new news today. Some family and I are discussing Mayo Clinic tho. I'm not sure she could make the trip, comfortably, tho. :sad1: 3 months is too long for no answers or relief.

I'm afraid the next time they send her home, with no results or answers, and she needs to go back in again, that it'll be too late. See, everytime she's gone back in, it's because she's dehydrated and her BP is LOW (26 one time, 66 this time), and they re-hydrate her and get her BP back up, but then they give her MORPHINE for her pain, which brings her BP back down again. :sad2: She was too weak Monday morning to even get up, and Dad had to help her again. I don't know how he's handling all this. :guilty:

Again, thanks! :goodvibes

Kim, keeping your mom and your family in my thoughts and prayers and hoping the MDs can finally figure out the cause of her troubles.

Thank you, again! We maybe don't appreciate all these well wishes and prayers offered until we're the ones receiving them, and I DO appreciate them! :grouphug: Thank you ALL!! :goodvibes

Kim. Hope there is so good news about your mom. Seems like 2010 is the year of illness. Just heard that my aunt who is 83 just fell and dislocated her shoulder. :sad2:

We decided since the money is going too quickly with bills and such we have to go with a Realtor. Have one coming today at 5 to sign us up and appraise the house. With all that heavy rain we got DH discovered about 2 inches of water in our crawl space by the sump pump. It was too much for us sump pump to handle. :confused3:sad2:Sure hope that does not ruin our chances of giving out of here. Do not know that much about how all that works.

The Realtor told me yesterday over the phone that lately most people who she has sold to is getting FHA loans and that those loans will not allow any allowances for things that need to be done. Not sure if I am explaining this right. But as she said the buyer will not be able to get their loan if there is anything that needs to be repaired or replaced here. Our furnace and air is old still works real good but very old. No doubt the buyers would want new systems.

We can not in any way pay for new systems. The funds are getting really tight. :scared1::sad2:I have been crying my eyes out stressing over that information. I am trying so hard to stay positive but it is so hard. Too many things making me depressed and making me worry. I sure wish I could sell this house and get my life back in order. Get some or most of these debts paid off.

Stitch ~ we just bought our condo with an FHA loan and didn't really have any problems this time around. As long as the FHA assessors think the house is worth what the buyers are buying it for. It's not too different than if a bank were assessing it for a conventional loan. FHA is just a little pickier. Our furnace and hot water heater in our condo are older and i swear the washer/dryer are ancient. A co-worker of mine just bought a foreclosed home that didn't have any appliances through FHA. Don't worry too much about that right now.

Kim ~ :hug::hug:prayers for your mom:hug::hug:

Hi everyone! Been a month since I've even stopped by. Been extremely busy, as usual. Had a quick trip to Vegas last week for a conference. Carol came along and we spent two extra days there. Stayed at the Aria. Very nice, still has some opening kinks to get worked out. Otherwise, I'd stay there again. Thought about trying to get ahold of Bunchy, but time just wouldn't have permitted.

Have a trip to the UK before the end of the month, and then our Baltic cruise in July. And, there's a remote possibility I may need to go back to India yet again this year.

Life is getting too crazy! LOL! But it keeps it fun!

hugs to u.. how is she holding up?? IOn my opinion. a trip to Mayo may be worth it ...

My friends were at Vegas Uncork'd this weekend and visited Aria. They loved Sage. Aria was under construction when I was there in November. I guess I need to go back.

Thanks, and sorry about your Aunt! Hope she heals quickly!

Yes, FHA seems to be the only way to finance these days :sad2: but it doesn't mean complete failure for you! They have relaxed their financing rules, and mostly what you have to agree to, is NOT giving the buyers any credit for possible repairs. There are SOOOOO many new rules about financing and credits, etc., I give thanks to my lawyer Boss who keeps them all in HIS head. I used to be an ace, but not so much anymore. Please, trust your lawyer more than a realtor tho - and expect to pay the realtor a lot more than your lawyer. It's a disgrace really, what realtors get paid vs lawyers, but get a lawyer too. A good lawyer will review your listing agreement with a realtor also, Before you sign it! Can't hurt! :thumbsup2

Hi John! Safe travels! Sounds like fun!! :cool1:

hugs to u.. how is she holding up?? IOn my opinion. a trip to Mayo may be worth it ...
Thanks! She is still in the hospital - same ole, same ole. :confused3 Her primary Dr. mentioned Mayo, but also mentioned re-visting Rush. No idea why. :confused3

Hi gang! :wave2:

We've been super busy around here lately.
DD was having tons of practices for her theater program at school. They did Beauty and the Beast. The performances were Thurs and Fri night. And then there was a cast pool party yesterday afternoon for all the kids. To say the least, she crashed until about 10am this morning.

Also, FIL has not been feeling well. DH took him to another neurologist who found abnormalities around his brain. So there was more testing and we're taking him to a neuro surgeon later this month. Last night was bad, he was having a hard time just making sentences. Not too sure what to expect at this point.

Planning to move back at the end of June. :cool1::banana::yay:

Kim I'm so sorry to hear that your mom is back in the hospital again. Hugs and prayers for all of you. :grouphug: I can't imagine why they haven't found anything yet? It must be so confusing and hard on all of you.

John It would have been nice to see you and Carol, but we were so busy these past couple weeks it would have been impossible to meet up. Glad you had a nice time in town. I'll be back home in Chicago soon, so we all can meet up then! :thumbsup2

disneygal If you're looking for a newer washer and dryer (front loaders), I have a great pair for sale at my mom's house back there!! LOL!!! :rotfl:

ITA-we must plan a meet to welcome you home! You let us know when and where!

Kim, I hope your family gets some answers really soon.

What a gorgeous day outside today!!! :sunny:
I sure wish I wasn't stuck at work, and I could be at home planting - I have so much to do. I bought 7 flats of flowers, 2 flats of hostas, and some Petunias. I got 4 flats planted on Sunday, and I have to try to do the rest this Sunday. So much to do, and so little time!!!! :faint:

I'm so sorry that I am no longer an active part of this thread :guilty:
I'm just so busy, and stressed out lately, that I don't have the time or energy to do anything fun for myself anymore. I look back at different times in my life, and think how nice it was when I wasn't constantly rushing rushing rushing all the time, unlike now. I was really hoping my college employee was going to be able to work one day a week, to give me some relief from the store, but that's isn't happening (she is doing 2 internships this summer). It's so hard to keep up with life, when you only have 1 day to do it - the stress is really bringing me down!!!

On the up side, we planned a mini-trip in September that I am very excited about. We are going to WDW for 2 nights and 1 day, and then we are spending 2 days and 2 nights on the Gulf of Mexico with Kevin's parents at their timeshare/condo. The trip will be fast, but well deserved!!!
Our trip details are:
Wednesday - check in at The Coronado Springs and then go to DTD to give Katie her big birthday present - The Grand package at BBB - she is going to be in absolute heaven!!!! Then we are eating at 1900 Park Fair for dinner so she can get a picture with Cinderella in whatever gown she chooses from BBB. It will be a delightful evening!!!!:goodvibes
Thursday - MK Day - no reservations for that day. With us having one day, I want to take advantage of every minute in the park, so we'll just eat counterservice.
Friday - The girls are doing the Pirate Cruise in the morning, and then Kevin and I are going to The Kona Cafe while they are gone so I can get my Tonga Toast:goodvibes (I'm so excited!!!) Then we will be off to the Clearwater Beach area.
Saturday - all day at the beach :sunny:
Sunday - leave for home late afternoon

I haven't had something to really look forward to in a very very very long time, so this will be alot of fun for me :cool1:

This is my message to everyone....
If you are sad
If you are worried
If you are happy
If you are celebrating :cheer2:
If you need a prayer

Even though I don't come here very often lately, I think of you all, all the time. You have been there for me through thick and thin, and I will always consider you all my friends :grouphug:

Have a good day!!!

Sandy - you deserve a time to look forward to! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Have a great time! :goodvibes
