This morning I have lots of call to make re employment and other stuff, then Aunt Sophie ( who took care of the boys when we were gone) is coming over to bring her taxes for DH to do.. and then off to get an EMG test..

I got Kevin up and out of the house on time this morning

The news about Natasha Richardson is so sad!!!
I not really "a fan" of hers, but this just shows us all how fragile life really is.
It's a real reality check on how we should all live our lives like it's our last, because you never know what tomorrow could bring.


geffric - How did your EMG test go?

DG - Any word from the consultant after you posted yesterday?

momto1 - I"m sorry to hear about your mom My brother has to eat alot of gluten free items, and I found you can buy many things on Peapod.com. He said that Jewel had very very little items, so hopefully she can find many things online. Keep us posted on how she is doing, and I will keep her my prayers

Well, I need to eat my grapefruit and make Stephanie her lunch. I'm so looking forward to next week when she is on spring break. It'll be nice to not have to rush in the morning

slo- Hate waking up late! Your whole day seems off then! Glad you got up and out on time today! I am also looking forward to break! Eventhough I still have work and school, it's a break not having to worry about lunches and rushing around in the morning. DD is terrible to get out of bed...she usually ends up with her light on and blankets pulled off!
momto- Meijer has a lot of gluten free items. I really like Tofu Siratake noodles (gluten free noodle substitute). I eat them becaue they are practically carb free and very low in calories. They are good, though. Also, a lot of restaurants have gluten free items if you ask. Where I work has a whole menu!
gef- Thanks for the reccomendation on Tevas. I've been looking online and have found two styles I like a lot. Do you know what stores carry a good selection so I could try them on? Probably sports places. Bass Pro SHop?
Tig- Hope dd didn't catch your strep! Wii is good for relaxng, although ds and dh were playing tennis the other night and ds got a toe burn (rug burn on his toe). Sports are dangerous!
Dgal- I bought my wedding shoes on clearance after Easter! They were pointy toed, kitten heeled, mary janes. I loved them! $9!

I am so nervous this morning! I have to "teach" for the first time in the class I've been observing. I have to talk about "voice" in literature. I have my power point all set and have to arrive early to copy hand outs. Wish me luck, mostly that the technology cooperates with me!

SLO and MAC - EMG is not fun.. The electrodes are icky.. but they hsve found that I have mild carpel tunnel and a pinched nerve in my neck.. UG!!! So I am going to see PT can help..

Today is haircut and then getting the committee book ready to pass to the next committee chair.. As of 4/1 I am offically out of the troop and onto Venturing.. I am going to be Venture District Commisioner and also on the Marketing Committee..maybe I'll find a job through those connections..

Good Morning Everyone! not feeling too well today. but i'm at work, i have to chair a meeting at 10am... boooooo.

Slo ~ we did hear back from our consultant! She said everything is looking good for the California Grill and UK lower terrace (for our dessert party). She doesn't think she will need alternative choices for us but will let us know if anything comes up.

momto1 ~ summer hours are nice! one day off every other week. i think it'd be pretty nice though if we could change our office hours from 8 to 4 or something. It'd be nice to get home earlier but i can't complain about a day off

Paint ~ Good luck teaching today you got a great deal on those shoes, where'd you get them?

Everyone else ~ I hear it's suppose to get back to the 70s by monday!!! do you believe it??? spring is on its way!!! WOOHOOOO!!!

Hi gang! We survived the winter! Spring officially arrives tomorrow and not a day too soon!

Thanks for the well wishes and tips for my mom. She has a really good attitude about this but I wish she was more computer literate so she could do research online and find recipes, where to eat and shop, etc.

Slo - Way to go on getting up on time today! I hate running late but I love to sleep in.

Paint - Good luck on teaching today! I am sure you will do just fine.

DG - Good news on your wedding plans. It sounds like you might get just what you want.

Geffric - Hopefully the PT will find something to help. Will you be sad to see your troop days ending? It sounds like you have been very involved. DS did Boy Scouts for one year and pretty much has dropped out. We had hope he would stay in. We saw the Venture Scouts one night and he talked to them. It sounds too cool.

momto1 ~ I have heard that Trader Joe's is also a good place to find gluten free items, as is Whole Foods. Their website (Whole Foods) even has a recipe section that includes gluten free recipes.

paint - Good luck with the teaching Did you do that yesterday? If not, when does it start?

geffric - I'm sorry the EMG showed some problems I have pinched nerves in my neck too - not fun!!!! I went to PT for awhile for it, but then stopped when it wasn't working for me (I"m not saying it won't work for you - I have many other problems in my neck besides pinched nerves). I hope the PT works for you, and helps you feel better

DG - I'm so glad the consultant called back with good news!!!!

momto1 - That's good that your mom is handeling her diagnosis well. I hope that continues

Hey everyone! The "teaching" went well. It was more of a presentation, but it was good. The kids were great and participated, too. I start "teaching" in another week or two. I have to meet with my partner on Sunday and draw up lesson plans. We will each teach three consecutive lessons. I also registered for the perfect fall schedule (yesterday, which was the correct day for registraion!). 9:35-4:15 on Tues. and Thurs.- the only thing that stinks is that the kids will be in afterschoool care because of those few minutes! Grr!
slo- Hurray for Friday and break! That's how I got dd out of bed this morning!
momto- Again, good luck to your mom. The diagnosis seems to becoming widespread, so many stores and restaurants are carrying gluten free products.
piglet- Don't know exactly what and EMG entails, but anything related to Drs. and hospitals is never good! Glad it's over.
dgal- I actually got my shoes at Payless. They were really cute and I added insoles for comfort.
geffric- I will have to do some shopping next weekend when in the Chicago area. I love shopping for the trip, too, it makes it seem like it is on its way, kwim? Hopefully, the Tevas will solve my problem-I need a back strap for sure. I am a fast walker and the Athens just slipped too much!

There is a major fire that started late this morning. It seems that the building will be a complete loss. Right now the focus is on preventing it from getting to the casino itself.

Pick Stephanie up from another party that starts when I'm at church.
I sorta like days like this - they move right along


Last night was the first night we have been to the mall since before Christmas, and let me tell you, it was pretty dead I walked into the Yankee Candle store to look at something, and I couldn't believe how much they downsized their inventory. The Disney Store had a good sale going on, but their items were still expensive even on sale. At one time, you couldn't buy Disney things in Wal-Mart and places like that, but now that you can, and they are cheaper than TDS's sale price, I don't buy the girls things there anymore. There were many people in TDS, but not many people buying in TDS. I got some Disney dollars for my neighbors bday (that's what the mom requested), but outside of that, we didn't buy anything else. Then we went to Target (to buy the other bday present) and that place was dead too It's scary to see these places so dead - I hope they don't close.

piglet - What happened to The Empress is terrible I would sure hate to be the contractor responsible for that
