My employee (the new one) made me so mad yesterday. I had her scheduled yesterday, because Stephanie wanted to play basketball, and I needed to go pick-her up at 4:15pm. The employee calls me at 3:55 and says she is running late, because she got tied up at school, and that she'll be at work no later than 4:15. I wasn't happy, but I thanked her for calling me. At 4:25pm there is still no employee, and now Stephanie is calling me wondering where I am. I was so mad!!!! I called the employee and left a message on her cell that I wasn't happy, and now I have to leave the store vacant, and she didn't need to come in anymore that night. So I picked Stephanie up a 1/2 hour late, and then I had to pick-up Katie at daycare, which meant I had t leave the store for a little over a 1/2 hour - I wasn't happy!!!!!! It's times like this that I miss Kevin working close to home - I miss him being able to help me out with things like this. Oh well, we managed, but I hope the employee doesn't plan on doing this again, or she won't have a job:mad:

DMM - Finding a house can be very stressful sometimes, especially when you have a certain area in mind. Kevin and I would look at the paper every Sunday, and do Sunday drives to try and find that perfect house. The house we are in now never even went up for sale. Our neighbor is on the FD with Kevin, and he told Kevin that his neighbor is thinking about selling. We drove past the house and told Rob that when the people were serious, to give them our number. He did, and the house is now ours. It was a win win for both of us!!! Sometimes things happen when you least expect it - just keep the faith!!!:wizard:

Mac - I never got political phone calls, but I did get loads of political mail. My mailbox is going to look really empty:rolleyes:

DG - Hugs to you  I didn't go to the cemetary this year either on the anniversary of my grandma's passing. Whenever I go to the cemetary, I always get very very sad, and I decided to celebrate her life, instead of weeping about her death - I felt really good about that!!!!:)

Bunchkin - Hugs to Hunter  Are you taking him to the doctor? I'll send tons of PD his way to feel better soon:wizard: :wizard:

Well, I gotta go get Stephanie up for school:teacher:
I didn't get up early today, myself, because I'm still not 100% from that cold I had before vacation. I got better, but never 100%, especially after I was walking around in the cold in Florida. Now I'm starting to wonder if I have a sinus infection:confused: I should go to the doctor too.

Have a good day!!!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: Not much new to report... except i went to fill out my holiday re-hire forms at williams-sonoma! Hello to all my Chicago buddies...

Slo, welcome back, I am sorry it was so cold for your trip and also sorry to hear that you still aren't feel so well...this weathe being so beautiful one day and then so cold and slimy the next I am sure doesn't help. Feel better soon! I hope your employee realizes how badly you were let down, and doesn't let that happen again.

Bunchkin...how is Hunter doing? I hope getting better. You may have said, but how did the big garage sale go?

Mac...all best wishes for your upcoming surgery. You continue to be in my thoughts & prayers. Please, please keep us posted on how you are doing.

DG..it's very difficult on those anniversary days. I think sometimes you just *need* to cry.

DMM...you will find the house that is the right fit when it is meant to be, hang in there.

Hersey...I am so happy no more election: commercials, phone calls or flyers stuffed in our mailboxes!!! I heard a news show yesterday saying something like you can get election withdrawal after an election like this one...I was thinking yeah, sure, that's one withdrawal I will happily go thru!!!

Question for you all...do any of you get really, really uncomfortably dry skin at this time of year? I have been using "Sarna" and it seems to work, but sometimes it just gets sooooooo bad...any other advice?

Everyone...have a *great* evening...try to stay warm & dry!

I am glad you got a early call for work. :thumbsup2 Try not to worry some how things always work out. I hope Mike gets an offer soon.

Slo We have a person where I work that never actually talkes to anyone she leaves a voicemail when she is sick. I hope your employee straightens out.

DMM Sorry you are having such a hard time finding your dream house. One will come along when it is time.

Bunch   I meant to do that earlier. I hope things ease up for you all. How is Hunter doing today?

I haven't experienced any withdrawl I am just happy it is over. :yay:

Very dry skin here. I have been having luck with good ole Jergens :thumbsup2If your skin gets really bad you may have to take a trip to the dermatologist.

Hi gang! I left you on September 26th and am finally back to posting again. We had a great time in Florida. My ds12 finished 12th of the single runners in the Expedition Everst challenge. I am about died when I saw him running in from the 5K. I couldn't believe it was my kid. Then thet did an obstacle course and back into Animal Kingdom for a scavenger hunt. It was awesome!

Once I got back from vacation, I was swapped at work with our annual licensure survey and every 3 year accreditation survey. They are both done and now I can get back to my DIS friends.

I will try to get caught up on what you have all been up to!

welcome back home lori

i have spent too much of this afternoon on the codes section out of the disney resort board.

now that the promo is out, i'm not very keen on doing a spring trip as an extra trip this year. already booked for end of sept.

the promo is similar to the fairytale promo many years back.

pay for 4 nights, get 3 nights free with tickets included.

the way i work it, i'm still ahead by booking using the AAA discount.

i wasted the entire afternoon over this.

hersey, how did you like that little red car?
next time one of the chi-town homies goes south without us, we'll hop into that red car and go check up on them.....

Mac I like little red cars very much.:thumbsup2 We almost bought a little red corvette many moons ago. Now the blasted song is stuck in my head.:headache:

Is anyone, besides me, sorta happy to see Christmas commercials on TV? I like Christmas commercials - they sound cheery, they look cheery, and they are not the normal ho-hum commercials. We DVR almost everything though, so I rarely see them:rolleyes:

My employee called me yesterday to apologize for what happened Wednesday - I was very grateful!!! I do like this girl, and I'm really hoping she's with me for awhile. She promised me that it would never happen again - I hope she's right!!!

DG - continued hugs to you!!!
**That's great about working next weekend. Will you being doing this until January?

Mac - That's awesome that you booked 2009's trip:cool1: I don't think we are returning next year :guilty: Kevin wants to do something different, and I can't blame him, so we are maybe going to the Bahamas, and staying at a place called Atlantis, which will be really really nice. :)

Donna - I"m feeling a pinch better today, and I'm hoping that continues throughout the weekend {{fingers crossed}}
**I get horribly dryskin on my hands only due to The Raynauds Phenomenon I have. I can't think of what I normally use, but it's awesome!!! It's only good for hands and feet though, not the whole body. If you want to know what it is, let me know, and I'll write it down and let you know.

HERSEY - What is Alex asking for for Christmas this year?

momto1 - Welcome back!!!!!:yay: Congrats to your son for doing so well at the WDW run:cheer2:

Bunchkin and ID - How are your sons doing today???

Well, I gotta run and try to do a small workout today. I still have a headache, so I don't want to overdo it. Have a good day!!

oooo oooo me me me me!!!! I LOVE Christmas commercials! and I LOVE going to dept. stores and just browsing through their Xmas stuff when they first set it up.... before the crowds attack it!

Good Friday Morning Friends! :flower3: woohoo for fridays! Not much going on here! Just been really tired lately! :confused3

Donna and Hersey ~ Thanks for the hugs and confidence! I appreciate it!

Momto1 ~ welcome back!

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful day! :flower3:

Atlantis does look really nice! ::yes::

I'm sorry it was so cold at WDW when you were there! :cold:

Hi gang! Thanks for the 'welcome backs". I am so happy today is Friday and I can relax this weekend.

I love the Christmas commercials, too. But, I like Christmas music better! DH has already put some in the CD player for me! I have my CD in the car, too. Tonight on the way home, I am stopping by Toys R Us for their sale. Hope to snag a Wii game for ds for Christmas.

Mom and I are going to the Sandwich Craft Shows tomorrow. Does anyone else go? They are held in 3 schools and you get to ride the school bus between schools. It has become an annual event for us.

I booked SW airfare for the April trip yesterday. It was $428 per person. More than I wanted to pay but...Today it is up already.

Have a good weekend! See you Monday!

Oooo have fun!!! Atlantis is AMAZING! Service is top notch and beach amazing...everything! haha! I didn't care much for the Bahamas themselves. Loved just staying on the resort. No real need to leave though! haha! We did the huge aquarium tour like 3 times and that was pretty neat! Everything is overpriced, but fun nonetheless! haha!

Yeah we're thinking of canceling DIsney 2009 trip we have booked in favor of spending 7 weeks in Mexico. We really did fall in love with it haha!

It felt so good sleeping in this morning!!!!:)

I'm sitting here with a very sore left hand this morning - I drove a nail into the webbing between my thumb and pointer finger:eek: . I was using a brad gun while closing up a picture, and it slipped, and the nail went right into my hand. At first I couldn't see the nail, and I getting really nervous, but then I saw a tiny amount of it, and I was able to pull it out myself - thank God!!!! I wasn't in the mood to going to the emergency room :sad2: When the gun slipped, it also scraped up areas of my thumb, so that whole area had to be really wrapped up yesterday - not fun!!!!!!:sad2:

Not to much is going on around here this weekend.
I'm going to go to work for a short while today, and then tonight I may take the girls to see HSM3. Tomorrow I need to go to Sam's Club and get some things for work, so I have stuff to do, just nothing real exciting.

DG - I agree about looking at the Christmas things. I always look forward to going to American Sales after all the trees are up, and just slowing walking through the store. There's always so many things I want, but I never buy it, because I can't justify spending a ton of money on Christmas decorations that are only up for 1 month a year.

Leigh - The cold was a bummer, but it made the vacation memorable:laughing:

momto1 - I LOVE Christmas music too!!!!!:goodvibes The Polar Express CD stays in my car 365 days a year. We only watch The Polar Express movie though at Christmas time, after the tree is up - we make a HUGE night out of it. Last year my girlfriend and her DD came over, and we popped popcorn, and blasted the surround sound - I love love love this movie!!!!!!!:goodvibes

DMM - It's good to hear a good review of Atlantis - thanks!!!! I told the girls, if we go, that it would like be spending several days on Castaway Cay, and they liked that idea!!!! Castaway Cay was my favorite day on the cruise, so I know I would really enjoy Atlantis:thumbsup2

Well, I best get going and get ready for work
Have a great day today everyone!!!!

Morning!

Slo Sorry to hear about your hand  I hope you do get yourself to the doctor to get it checked out. You don't want an infection. Alex hasn't said anything about Christmas. Everytime I ask he says it is too early to think about Christmas. Where did this kid come from? I thought about the next Christmas on December 26 :confused3

momto1 Glad you found us again. I am not sure if we are making a trip for 2009 yet I have to see what happens with the ecomony and my finances. We might just do a long weekend thing in the fall. Hopefully the airfairs come down $428.00 is a little much!

Crissup - safe travels to Boston!

Crissup Safe travels to you!!!

Thanks everyone! The trip was quick and nothing but work. ;( The flight home was delayed two hours for maintenance. Darned United! They provided little to no information while we were all sitting there in Providence. The irony was that the instructor had been telling me that he refuses to fly United anymore because they'd stranded him too many times or delayed him too many times. I can't find anyone anymore who is happy with United. Everyone I talk to says the same thing, they hate United now and prefer American over United. After yesterday, I think I'm starting to agree with them. It's a shame that United has plunged so far over the years.

I did have some great seafood while out there. Had twin live lobster tails for $12.
