Wow! I didn't know this thread existed! Just wanted to say hi! We (me, DH, DS7, DD5) are in Park Ridge. We just got back from our first MNSSHP. It was so much fun. We walked on to every ride and the parade was incredible.eat day Chicagoans!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: sorry this needs to be very short. i have a meeting in 10 minutes and then today is a dress rehearsal so i need to be down in the theater for that... busy busy busy (the way i like it)! :)

Morning everyone! If I have to peel another apple I'm going to peel my eyes out! hahahah!

Today the kids wanted apples and raisins for their snack, I core up the apples and hand them over and Autumn promptly says...ummm Mom, these no like Mcdonalds!! Oh deer! She wanted them peeled?!?! Darn Nana for always having Mcdonalds apples on hand!! Then they wanted more and just one more! hahha!!

Has anyone been to the Jelly Bean factory tour up in Wi? I believe it's the Jelly Belly factory? We're planning on doing that this weekend, but I am just wondering if anyone has done it and what they thought?

Have a good one everyone!!!

We just did the Jelly Belly factory tour a couple weeks ago. Just found it by accident when we were on our way up to explore Wisconsin. It was kinda fun...but basically, it is just a big warehouse. You get on a "train" that goes around the perimeter of the inside of the warehouse. They have various stops where they have video of various steps of the process or samples of the equipment used in making and packaging the Jelly Bellys. You don't really see any of it live.

In fact, I kind of left with the impression that they don't even make them there...it's just a warehouse. But I could be wrong on that. I just never saw a place where Jelly Bellys were actually being made.

They do, however, give you some free samples. And of course there is the store where the tour ends (in true Disney World fashion). You could really go wild in there. Talk about your sugar buzz.

COol thanks for that :)

Yup, it is just the warehouse and distribution center. The factory where they are made is in San Francisco I believe.

My son loves trains and we go to train museums all the time, so we figured since this one is on a little train and they can see other things that go on in a warehouse (my husband is a warehouse manager) then it could be a fun little outing for them :)

We try and do new things all the time and i'm glad to hear about your experience! Gotta love a tour that ends with a store!

We just read that the new longaberger (however you spell that) outlet has also taken up space inside the Jelly Belly warehouse too! So now there is a little something for mommy too! hahaah!

Hi gang! Welcome to all our new friends! Please visit us often!

Slo - How's Sophie? I hope she is doing better!

Tiggerrn@ - We bought our first house 17 years ago for $103,000. We built it new after we looked at a zillion fixer uppers. That was a lot of money for us at the time!

Paint - I can look for the dog decal next week, too, but it sounds like you have it covered. I have the family on my car. DH cursed me while putting them on since he said he had to do each and every tiny piece. Maybe I should get a 2nd dog decal just in case.

This is my night to work late. I really wish I was home packing. I am pretty good though.

Lori

Happy Wednesday people!

Kids are at Karate right now.

Wow it's thundering and lightening out still raining pretty hard to. I was going to grill ohwell.

:welcome: To our new friends

It's raining horse's . I can't see across the street. Minnie is glued to my leg she hates thunder.

I wonder if it's heading my way. I'm not a home right now because the kids are at the park district building having karate lessons.

Hey guys I hope everyone is doing good. A while ago someone gave me a link that had the size of the door and the room number plaque. I'm tring to find it again. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.
Thanks
Mike

Yeah...we've been more adventurous since moving out here. Just in the past two months we've made seperate trips to Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan. Trying to explore our new surrondings. It's been fun. Gotta start preparing the kids for an eventual road trip to Florida...someday. :drive: :)

haha! I know what you mean! We like taking the kids to more places than just grandpas house on the weekends :)

We spent July in Mexico, did a weekend in the Dells and we're heading to Door County next month, Frankenmuth for Thanksgiving and then driving to Disney for the New Year :) The drive was a lot of fun last time!

We're trying to convince ourselves to take a trip up to the Mall of America to check out the new Nickelodean park.

Yeah...we're running out of states to hit on day trips. So hopefully in not-to-distant future we'll get up to the Mall of America. That would be pretty cool. A weekend trip or something like that.

But that doesn't sound half as cool as Mexico. I'm jealous... How did the kids like it?

that place is a 9 minute drive from my house.

when i get bored or yen for jelly bellys, i go there, take the tour and get the samples.

it's not a bad place to see. it is quite nice to visit.
and especially nice if you have littles.

hahahha!!! That's lucky for you! Thanks for the input too! We're all pretty excited to hit it up now too :) Mmm....samples!

go to their website.
they sometimes have coupons there and also give the dates of the flop sales.

jelly bellys that don't turn out perfect go to the flop bag. they sell them cheap.

our local paper carries the coupons for that place.
i'll start to save them for anyone that wants them.
