Destination D23 2025 Aug 29-31, 2025 at Coronado Springs

Between that and the wide range of projects announced during D23 Expo in '24, I don't think it was unreasonable to expect them to set aside 20 minutes to talk about the parks.
I agree that's not unreasonable, but what others seem to expect out of these events I think exceeds the sharing of more renderings on already announced projects. I think this could be how they try to reset expectations and differentiate the events on each coast again. It's also possible that, additionally, you'll get your 20 minutes of updates within some of the sessions--doing it this way sets the bar lower for what is shared.

I mean, there have been a lot of predictions from influencers about what could get announced, ranging widely in ambition; I wonder if Disney is saying "don't get too excited, we'll have updates but no new rides/lands/overhauls will be announced" or something to that effect.

The Villains Panel could provide a few nuggets on Villains Land, or some additional things about Villains associated with the Disney Destiny beyond what’s already been shared with the maiden voyage just a few months away.

Destination has been more about the past and diving into things that already exist, with small glimpses at most about possible things to come.

Odd that something named "destination" is about the past. :)

It's my first Destination D23, and I went in knowing that it was more trivia/history panels. But that knowledge came from other people on these boards. If you looked at what Disney had on their web site before all the details were added, it even still leads with "Buckle in for a sneak peek at the company’s boundless future."

I have to admit, even knowing what sort of a event it was supposed to be, I was a bit surprised by the panel line-up and how.. ecletic it is. :) I would actually be totally fine with no new big Parks announcements at the event - I know it wasn't that sort of event - but maybe a bit more depth or sneak peeks at things already announced. And I'll be fine if a few of those are in other panels, but still.. would have been nice to have a Parks panel if just to have Josh run around on stage with robots or whatever. :)

I hope you like Becky Kline, because the tends to do most of the presentations. I love her, so this event is usually perfect for me.

I guess we'll find out! I skipped most of the Archives session at the Expo. But I enjoyed visiting part of it on the Studio tour. So it'll be a brand new experience.

I'll bring my Switch so I can quietly play Dreamlight Valley if I get really bored. ;)

Sadly it's also when we see them pull things from their original plans....

Star Wars Land was originally going to have three attraction - “Bantha Ride” didn't make the finial budget.
We were suppose to get that grand Theater on (or just off) Main Street there for a while.
Several economizations were made to the original Fantasyland redo...
To keep in budget, a retired imaginer said they cut most the shading structures from Toy Story land

Reality is a few billion dollars doesn't go as far as it once did.....
