Bunchkin ~ Yes, it means I get to open and close the store. Mostly I will be closing, but no biggie. Sorry to hear about your car, must have been scary to watch it happen.

My highschool employee surprised me yesterday and worked last night - wasn't that great?!?! I thought so, because I was able to go home and make dinner, and do many errands around the house, that I haven't had time to do. Yep, I was pretty happy!!!!!:goodvibes

DG - That's great about your sister moving closer to you :goodvibes What can you read???? How about reading some Disney type books, like books that talk about the Imageeniering, Hidden Mickey's, and stuff like that.

Mac- I"m sorry to hear of your sinus infection:guilty: I'll send some PD to help you feel better quick:wizard:
**That's nice that you have your work days scheduled. I thought that substitue teachers didn't know until the last minute (like that morning) that they have to work.

Bunchkin - I"m glad the estimate is going to workout in your favor:woohoo: How long will they need to keep the car?
**I wish you could come apply here too ::yes::

piglet - Congrats again!!!!:cheer2:

Well, I'm off to take a casual walk this morning. Yesterdays walk hurt my neck and gave me a headache, so I have to take it easy today. Have a great day today!!!! :wave2:

Not scared away, either, Mac. Just soo busy- you know how that is, right Piglet? For the past few days, I've either been at work or at school or sleeping. I can't wait until Sunday. The only day where I don't have either (but tons of homework). Anyway, time to hop in the shower. Have a great day everybody!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: busy day today at work so this needs to be short!

Slo~ great idea on the Disney books. I never thought of that!

Mac ~ :wizard: here's hoping you get better soon! :wizard:

Bunchkin ~ glad to hear your estimate on your car is working out in your favor!

Paint ~ sounds like you've been quite the busy bee! :) hope you find some time to relax!:wizard:

good thursday morning chicagoland homies.

thanks for the pixie dust. it goes a long way for me...:goodvibes

slo, i'm a senior sub and get requests by teachers to take their classes when they know in advance when they will be out.
that's how i know in advance my work days.
but, i do take last minute jobs on the days i am not pre scheduled.

those calls start at 5:30 am........ugh

Hi gang! Are you ready for the weekend yet? I am! DS birthday party turned out great despite the heat, humidity and 3 waves of rain! Then on Sunday we went on a 2 mile walk at Midewin Prairie preserve so dh can get in shape for Exhibition Everest!

Slo - good luck finding an employee! That has got to be tough.

Paint - I hope you get some time for yourself and don't run yourself ragged.

Piglet - Congrats on the promotion!

Mac - Hope you are feeling better.

Bunchkin - Bummer on the car. Don't you just hate when things like that happen? Hope you get it fixed real soon.

Everybody else - Hi and hope you are having a good week.

Lori

HI all!!

Got a cold. Grrrrr!! Probably sinus issues too. Post nasal drip et al.
Kind of felt sniffly this morning and then I was in the rain and cold (well, I did have an umbrella) while I went shopping at the Promenade in Bolingbrook (it's a mall set up like Oakbrook mall, for those who haven't been there). Came home even more sniffly and stuffy at the same time, and then a sore throat ensued later in the afternoon. Probably won't get a ton of sleep I'm guessing.

Anyone have plans for this weekend? We usually don't get together on Labor Day with family. So Sunday, DD and I are going to American Girl Place for the theatre and lunch, while DS and DH go see Star Wars Clone War movie and lunch. And on Monday we are going to the Legoland Discovery Centre.

slo That was nice of your highschooler to come in and work. :thumbsup2
Car repairs will take 3-4 days. Seems long to me, but I haven't had an accident in a really long time so I have no clue how long the work should take.

piglet I was in my car when it happened and did not see it coming. I was watching this other car backing out of it's space so I could take it, so I had my attention on that, and I was so close to the line of parked cars I was against while waiting that I didn't even notice someone starting to back out. That's what makes me so mad!!! I was so close to this man's car, blocking him totally from backing out and he didn't see me!!!! :headache:

momto1 Glad your son's party turned out good despite the weather!!

bunkin, i have pills.

want some...........:rolleyes1

better living through chemistry with the antibiotics.

the meds are really kicking in now for me.

do hope you feel better real soon.
sinus infections are a pain the the butt.

Did any of you watch Barack Obama last night?
He is an amazing speaker - I really enjoyed listening to him speak.
I don't know if I'm voting for him yet - I'll probably decide after I listen to John McCain next week. I don't think he'll be as exciting to listen to though - it'll probably be quite boring.

paint - Sounds like you have been really busy :faint: I bet you are looking forward to Sunday.

DG - I'm glad you liked those ideas. I have different books like these, and I've never had time to read them myself. Maybe after I read the Narnia book, and then the Harry Potter books, I"ll make time for the
other books :scratchin

Mac - That's awesome that you get to know what you are going to work ahead of time, so you can plan accordingly. When they call in the am, do you HAVE to take the work? If you don't, are you allowed so many times you can say no, or can you do that as much as you want? My SIL has played with the idea of doing substitute teaching, so I'll learn through you and tell her about it.:)
**I'm glad your sinus meds are kicking in, and your starting to feel better:)

momto1 - Thanks for the good luck :)
**I'm glad your DS had a good BD party:cool1:

Bunchkin - I"m sorry you don't feel well :guilty: Here's some PD to help you feel better:wizard: :wizard:
**My plans for this weekend is NOTHING:banana:
I"m so excited to do nothing - I love nothing!!!!!
**Have fun with Laurn at the AG Store and theater:goodvibes

Well, I'm off to work out, and then work another long day.
Have a great Friday everyone!!!

Good FRIDAY morning Everyone! :flower3: woohoo it's finally friday! Mike and I went out to dinner last night. It was quite nice but I passed out as soon as I got home! I'm very much looking forward to a relaxing weekend!

Bunchkin and Mac ~ here's hoping you get better soon! :wizard:

Slo ~ I have the book Chronicles of Narnia (which is all 7 or 8 books in one ginormous book).... i found it very difficult to read b/c it's so thick. I bought it b/c i read all the books when i was little and loved them. The Lion the Witch and the wardrobe being my fave! I might have to take a trip to Barnes and Noble this weekend :)

Everyone else ~ :wave2:

Happy Fridays peeps! :cool1: .....I don't feel like that siggy though....I more feel like -->

I am so stuffy today and I feel so tired. Too pooped to pop!
At least I'm keeping up on the laundry today which was one of the major things on my to-do-list today. I was going to vac, but my head is in a cloud.

And, I'm having a hard time finding out which insurance company insured the person who hit me. I've called so many people and they don't have him insured. It looks like I may have to file a claim with our insurance which I was trying to avoid. :sad2: Now days, insurance companies will raise your rates even if the claim wasn't your fault. It might not be as high as if it was your fault but the rate will go up.

slo Nice speaches are just that...nice. Since Obama has mostly been an absentee voter for his entire career in the Illinois Senate makes me wonder how 'absentee' of a president he could be. I'm not much into promise speeches but more into a person's track record, work history and hands-on experience. :hippie:

mac I gotta watch what meds I take, some make the old ticker skip a beat or two....or five. I'm just gonna tough it out! ;)

I didn't listen to Obama. Just can't stand him. I think I'm going to be pleased with McCain's running mate. She seems good. I had though Romney would be the best, but I think Palin is even better.

We just got dismissed from work! We weren't supposed to get out till 3pm. I'll probably leave even though I'm not ready yet. :rolleyes1

Hello everyone. I did all my errands today since this weekend will be crazy busy in the stores.

All I want to do now is lay on the couch.

Mac Hopefully those meds will kick in soon and you'll feel better than your old self.

Bunch Glad the car thing is getting worked out.

Hope everyone else is well. This weekend is going to be a great one for outside stuff.

Don't make me think I'm becoming a thread killer. Where is everyone?

WOW it looks like we are in for a beautiful weekend.

I should be starting to clean, but here I am. :rolleyes1 I feel a little lazy today.

I keep whatching the weather down in the gulf. I wonder how much more the people there can bear? We only have to deal with snow but that has never chased us from our homes.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I better get moving or I may never get this house clean.

:surfweb:

I just woke up - I love being able to sleep in on the weekends!!!:goodvibes

What a beautiful weather weekend we have in store for us :sunny:
We don't have any plans, and I think that's great!!!!!:thumbsup2
So this going to be a whatever happens, happens, type weekend

DG - I bet that was a big book  I don't know which one is my favorite so far. I really enjoyed The Magicians Nephew, because it was the prequel to The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and I found it entertaining to learn how it all began.

Bunchkin - I'm sorry to hear that you are still not feeling well:guilty: I send some more PD your way to get better quick, so you can enjoy your time at The AG Store with Lauren:wizard: :wizard:

Leigh - I have a lot of learning to do about Pilman. I still haven't made my decision, so I'm keeping an open mind to both :) My mom can't stand Obama either, so you are not alone with that thought. I can stand him, I just don't know yet if he's the guy to do the job.

HERSEY - I feel so bad for those people too ::yes:: I sure hope this storm is nothing like Katrina.
**I need to get the motivation to clean some too ::yes:: but I'm going to go to work for awhile today, and then run some errands, and then go to church, so that's my excuse to wait until tomorrow;)

Well, I gotta run and eat some breakfast
Have a good day today everyone!!!!

I'm heading out soon to see my friends in Indy. I just need to pack. Yeah, I haven't packed yet. :rotfl2: At least it shouldn't take long. I'll be back Monday. Have a great weekend everyone! :goodvibes

I thought maybe Romney was going to be picked as well.

Palin has an awesome track record in Alaska. I have a feeling they will be opening ANWR right after McCain/ Palin wins! (which is a good thing!)
She is so pretty, too and a beautiful woman overall.
