Hi Chicago homies :wave2:

Prayers and good thoughts to all that are sick :wizard:

Busy weekend for me.

Have a good Labor Day weekend everyone :)

We are in for another totally awesome weather day today :sunny:
We are going to celebrate it by sitting at the pool all day :beach:
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE these type of days:love:

Tomorrow we will be sitting by the pool again, except this time with friends.
We got some hamburgers, hotdogs, snacks, and stuff like that to have for dinner - it'll be great!!!! I love these type of days too, because I love these friends, and I don't have to clean house for them, put on makeup for them - nothing, it's great!!!!!!:goodvibes

Well, I"m off and running to clean a little house (not because of friends, but because it just needs it), and then I'm off to the pool. I don't see any clouds, which means I'll be able to soak up ALOT of sun :sunny: With knowing that summer is coming to an end soon - I'll take as much sun as possible now :teeth:

Have a good day!!!

Hey everyone. I'm home!!:sad1:
We had a wonderful WDW vacation. Once I have my laundry caught up and stuff put away, I will come back and give you all a little TR here. We had beautiful weather for most of the trip. Monday evening we were at Epcot and it started raining at dinner time. We tried waiting it out in America where the kids were having their dinner, but finally decided to give up and head back in the rain to the Beach Club. This was the one and only day I did not have the ponchos along. Go figure. Then it rained our last day there, but we were done riding rides. Had a late breakfast and wandered over to Epcot to shop. I think they were beginning to get the effects of Gustav. Was glad to leave. This does not look like it is going to be a good week at WDW.:sad2: I feel for those coming in as we were leaving.
Mac and Bunchkin, sure hope you are feeling better soon. And Bunckin, sorry to hear of your car dingy woes.
Prayers and thoughts to those who need them here.
Hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather weekend. Looks like I came home at a good time.
Off to get busy with the :laundy: and get the kids ready to start :teacher: Need to label all the school supplies.

OH, and thanks to all for not being overly chatty and making it easy for me to catch up.:rolleyes1 Hope that means everyone was out and enjoying themselves.

Tigg Glad to hear your trip was great. Isn't that just the way with those ponchos.

I've been busy finding out about the few Diser's I know in NOLA. They are mostly out of harms way. One of the ladies her husband works in a nursing home so he can not leave until sometime tomorrow at the earliest. If you can spare any prayers, these poor people would be happy to received what ever prayers you can.

Hola, friends! Like everyone else, busy, busy! I have to work on Labor Day. I am sure it will be dead- everyone will be out bbq'ing! I am disney-depressed, myself! My first "real" week last week was so tiring. It seemed I was either working, in class, or sleeping- don't know how I'll make it. As soon as dh gets next year's schecule, though, I am booking our trip! WDW/Coronado Springs for 2 weeks. It will give me a light at the end of the tunnel! Can't wait for my new ticker!
Slo- Beautiful poolside weather! We've been enjoying our newdeck and a new martini recipe (strawbery limoncello!).
Tig- Can't wait for the TR!
Dgal, Slo, and other book fans- I am a little slow to jump on the bndwagon, but dh got me "Marley and Me". So touching so far- tearing me up at the gym!

The Hand Behind the Mouse: The Ub Iwerks Story (1999)
Though Walt Disney is often solely credited as a great pioneer of
animation, he would not have his iconic Mickey Mouse character if it
were not for the late Ub Iwerks. This documentary about the talented
animator who made the early Disney shorts starring Mickey Mouse,
assembles rare footage and interviews with animators who worked with
Iwerks, all with funding from the very studio he helped start,
bitterly left and rejoined years later.

This show will repeat
Wednesday September 03, 2008 from 11:00 PM to 1:00 AM
Thursday September 04, 2008 from 2:00 AM to 4:00 AM
Thursday September 04, 2008 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

On Friday September 05, 2008 from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM on Turner

Swiss Family Robinson
Disney version of the classic about a family shipwrecked in the
South Pacific. John Mills, Dorothy McGuire, James MacArthur. Roberta:
Janet Munro. Ernst: Tommy Kirk. Francis: Kevin Corcoran. Pirate Chief:
Sessue Hayakawa. Capt. Moreland: Cecil Parker. Ken Annakin directed.
(TVKirby note - I will occasionally put in a listing like this one.
This is the movie that inspired the WDW Magic Kingdom attraction.
Disneyland had one as well, but Tarzan took over! Puzzled over some of
the details in the Swiss Family Treehouse? You will likely find the
answer in this movie. Enjoy the Swisskapolka! )

Good morning everyone!

My friend's husband did get out last night and was at the hotel waiting for them. He made better time leaving later than they did leaving early in the morning. Anyway they are safe. Hopefully they will have homes to go back to. I can't imagine what that is like.

Today we have a lot of stuff to do around the house and the grass needs to be cut. I'm hoping to have a garage sale hopefully next weekend. I need to get rid of this stuff soon I'm going crazy its too cluttered.

I posted before I could thank you for your prayers keep them coming I'm sure any and all are appreciated.

Boy, oh boy, I've been loving these last 3 days to sleep in:)
I haven't been working out, but that's okay, I needed a day off from that too ::yes::

Yesterday was a great day of doing NOTHING!!!!! :teeth:
We just hung out by the pool all day, and then last night, the girls and I played a couple games of Disneys Scene It - 2nd addition, which was alot of fun!!!! Yep, it was a good day!!!!!:goodvibes

Today was have some friends coming over, and we are going to be at the pool again all day. I'm really enjoying these days, because the weather forecast is talking about much cooler weather next weekend, which means no pool. Fall is definitly around the corner!!!!

Tiiiiiiigern - I'm glad you are home, and had a good time with somewhat good weather :sunny: Stephanie and I were watching the coverage on Gustav, and the radar showed all this bad weather going over central Florida, and I told Steph how you were there, and I felt bad for you. I'm glad you weren't there when I said that, and weren't totally affected by this storm. I agree about those there now - they are not going to have a good weather vacation:sad2:

HERSEY - I will absolulty keep your friends in my thoughts and prayers  I feel so bad for all those people there - I can't imagine going through these storms over and over again:guilty:

paint - I"m sorry you have to work today:guilty:
**I"m booking a WDW in 2009 too ::yes:: My girlfriend and I are taking our DD's (she has an 8yr old) to WDW the end of May, and we are really excited about it :cool1: She's been to WDW many times, but she's never done Disney, like we do Disney :yay:

Mac - Have fun at your towns Labor Day festivities :cool1:
**How's your sinus infection doing? Hopefully you are better :wizard:
**Thanks for the listings!!!!:)

Bunchkin - How are you feeling? Hopefully you are better too:wizard: Is today you and Lauren go to the AG Theater, or was that yesterday? Either way, have a good time:goodvibes

Well, I gotta get going and start my day.
Have a great Labor Day everyone!!!

good monday morning chicagoland homies...........

today will be the hottest day of the year here. :woohoo:
i do love the hot weather.

it appears we have only 2 seasons here.
winter and the 4th of July.
btw, which was a bust this year

slo, the sinus infection is past history glad to say.
thanks for thinking of me.
still have some days left on the meds though.

went up to the booth/stand our group has and came home for something.
you know i can't pass up checking out this thread when i walk in the house....

going back in a few minutes.

i wish you all have a great day today....

tomorrow another working day and the kids go back to school......

Mac Glad your feeling better. Have fun today cause tomorrow is a work day

Ok now I'll go back to my clean up.

Back to the ol' grind stone today!!!

Yesterday was so much fun!!!!:cool1:
I have so much fun with these friends - it's great!!!!!:goodvibes
The only thing that was bad about this day, is the party behind us, was very loud, with extremely loud karoke, so we chose to not eat dinner outside - it was like noise pollution. My girlfriend yelled really loud for them to "kill the power" but they didn't hear her:rotfl:

Mac - I do love the hot weather too ::yes:: It sorta bums me out that we didn't have more hot days this summer.
**I'm glad you are feeling better :)

HERSEY - :wave2:

Well, I gotta go and workout. I haven't worked out since Friday, and I haven't watched my diet at all this weekend :sad2:
Have a good day!!!

Morning everyone

I can't believe how long it took me to find this thread! haha! Thank goodness it was bumped up at the right time today! Hope you all are doing well!

The long weekend was super nice :) We went to the Milawaukee zoo on Sunday!!

I worked lunch yesterday and it was suprisingly steady! Don't people bbq anymore? I was hoping to get out early! I got home and took the kids for a bike ride, which ended with dd wiping out! Then, we all went to Red Lobster (becasue people, including me, don't bbq!). Today, like everyone else, is back to the grindstone. It is supposed to be 95 today! Yikes!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I know mine was quite relaxing! :goodvibes but alas, not it is back to work with plenty to do! We are starting to get busy here which is good b/c i HATE being bored! I need to be in a fast paced environment. Well, better get started! Have a great day everyone! :flower3:

Morning everyone! Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted since Aug. 20! These days are going by so quickly and I've gotten into a pattern of checking my subscribed threads first thing in the morning and then don't get back to post. Sorry!

Happy belated Birthday to everyone I missed :cake: :bday: !!

slo - I've kept up my walking on my own but it is kind of lonely. I don't like that it is dark now in the a.m.

disneygal - I loved your shirts, I've used the DISign board for trips before they are great!

Kim - so sorry about your mom and aunt. :grouphug: for you.
*I hope your dd had fun as a Batkid Friday!

Bunchkin - so sorry about the accident, don't you wonder what is wrong with people sometimes :confused3 . Hope everything gets fixed soon!
*I hope you're feeling better soon. DD11 is also suffering with a cold, hoping the Advil Cold & Sinus will help her through the day today.
**How was AG Place and Legoland? DS is desperate to go to Legoland.

piglet - congrats on being promoted to "key holder".

Leigh - Hope you had a fun weekend in Indy!

Tiggerrn - welcome back! Glad you had great weather, they are certainly getting their share of weather problems. Can't wait to hear more about it.

mac - glad to hear you are feeling better. Have you checked your Oct flights lately? Our flight down has changed again, now another 1/2 hr later :headache:

Got a little Disney fix on Friday. It was Deirdre's birthday (7yrs now - where does the time go  ) and she wanted RainForest Cafe so we treked up to Woodfield. Visited Doorway to Dreams since we were there. We're booked into AKV-Kidani Village for next June, can't wait! I also noticed that they have some temporary walls, wondering if they're expanding :rolleyes1 .

We enjoyed a couple of hours at the pool yesterday, it was the last day of the season and it was CROWDED! The kids still had a great time. DH is "working" from home today, he's actually trying to fix our AC. We came home from dinner at his parents on Sunday and it wasn't working  . If his theory is right the repair will only cost us around $20, if not we're looking at needing a whole new unit at around $3000  .

Well, I think I'm all caught up - phew! Meeting a friend for shopping and lunch so I've got to run and hop in the shower. Enjoy the day everyone! :flower3:

:surfweb:

Nothing to exciting here - just worked all day yesterday.

DMM - So good to see you!!!!!:yay: How are you and the kids?

paint - I don't think people celebrate Labor Day like they used to :sad2: We BBQ'd, but we like to use the grill alot in the summer, because the oven makes the house to hot.
**I"m sorry to hear about your DD wiping out on her bike? :guilty: How bad did she get hurt?

DG - I"m glad you like the busier time at work :) What do you do again?

ID - I hope you had a nice lunch date with your friend :)
**I hate the fact that it's dark out early in the morning. It makes it so hard to wake up, and get motivated.

Well, I gotta go and get walking (I"m hoping it doesn't rain on me).
Have a good day today!!!

paint ~ We bbq'd on Labor Day too, after I got home from work. Hope your DD is ok from her spill.

Happy Wednesday everyone! I get to go buy a new (well, used but "new to us") mini-van today. Ours has been on the path to the junkyard for a while now, and yesterday the radiator blew out. I had hoped to make it through next summer, but oh well. So far we are looking at a Chevy Uplander. It is in the middle of our price range and has low milage. Low enough to still have bumper-to -bumper even. We would love a Honda Odyssey, but they are out of our budget with the low milage we want. DH does not want another Caravan because of all the problems we have had with the current one.
