We didn't do anything since I had to work, but Kevin did buy me some beautiful roses, and made a heavenly Italian meal for after I came home from work - what a great guy!!!

DG - Doing the wedding vow renewel is not a bad idea I will have to bring that up to Kevin and see what he thinks. Hopefully the gas prices will be down, because if they keep going up the way the media says, this Disney vacation, may be our last Disney vacation, for awhile

Hi all-
Today is the first day of summer vacation for my kids. Had 2 hrs of school yesterday. Where did this school yr go? It went by pretty fast for me.
Chrissy will be going to summer school starting next Wed, as she qualifies in my school dist. I don't think she will be happy getting up and going again in the mornings. Just 3 hrs/day of summer school. Oh well. Hopefully she'll enjoy summer school, as it won't be that intense as it is during the school yr.


Slo- belated congratulations on you and Kevin's wedding anniversary!
DH and I wedding anniversary is a week from Thurs. We will probably try to go out to dinner, not sure where yet.

Thanks, everyone! The photographers pics are almost up- she said 5 days. I checked last night and there are some up on the website and they look great. They stopped, however, right before I came down the aisle. What a tease!!!
So, it is back to normal life. The dcs told me last night they were bored- their first full day at home for the summer and they are bored?!? Great! We have to run a few errands today (they ought to love that) and then hit the park for a bit. I need to hit the gym. That leftover wedding cake is calling my name. I told dh I talked myself out of it because it probably wasn't that good anymore- he said it probably was. So helpful!
Slo- Glad you had a nice anniversary. Nice time of year to get married! Getting home at 6 am- I was like a little kid in the restaurant...you know how they get really tired and quiet and just stare? That was me!
hersey- We had torrential downpours last night. we tried to ride it out in Target, but they were closing so we ran to the car!
ID- Early mornings and lunches I won't miss, but now I have to amuse them!
mac- I hope you find someone to help ds out!
Okay, better start on my day...and yes, I am starting my day at noon! Kind of nice not having a job for now!

Slo ~ Yeah, we have been using the a/c but now it is broke. The blower stopped working, so we have to wait until Saturday for someone to come out and fix it.

Any Yankee Candle lovers, the Semi-Annual sale is starting and there are lots of good deals.

I need your help. My MIL wants me to get a list of hotels for a co-worker planning to visit the Chicago area. She plans to go to the Brookfield Zoo and also wants to go to MSI as well as some of the museums downtown. (I assume she means the Field, Shedd, and maybe Art Institute) No clue how long or when she will be coming here.

So, would you suggest staying downtown? If she is just going to the zoo, I would think to suggest places closer to there, but if she wants to do all the other stuff, downtown might make more sense. From what I gather, there is no price range, but I doubt they want anything over $200 a night, even though I will give a few of the "higher" places as a guideline to how pricy it could be.

OMgosh - what a stormy, loud, exhausting evening
We were in the basement until after 11pm, and since Kevin was out of town for work, both the girls were in bed with me. Between me listening at the storm, to make sure it wasn't turning into anything worse, listening for the tornado siren again, getting kicked and slapped in the face by Katie, I got very very little sleep last night Normally when Kevin is home, the girls sleep on the floor, but they really wanted to be in the bed, so I said, okay. Last night, was not a good night


I had a good day off yesterday until the storms last night. I went and got my first pedicure of the season, and then got a lot done around the house - it was great!!! Then my mom came over, and after STephanie came home from school we went and got Katie, and went shopping and out to dinner. For the first time in my mom's life, she closed the mall down - she's never done that before. I got alot accomplished - Stephanie got alot of new summer clothes, Katie got a new bathing suit, I got Kevin's Fathers Day gift, a birthday gift for family friends child, and other things - it was a successful adventure!!!!!



Rose - Thanks for the congrats!!!!

DG - With Kevin driving all the way to Midway everyday, it's very hard to save money when we put so much into his tank. Thank goodness I only drive 3/4 of a mile to work, so I don't fill up my car very often

Mac - Are the storms up by you this morning?

paint - I bet you were exhausted. Did you sleep in really long the next day, or should I say, the same day

piglet - I"m sorry to hear about your AC being broken I hope they are able to fix it Saturday.
**I"m not good when it comes to hotel advice. Hopefully others can help.

Hey all. Beautiful warm and sunny, hot day!!!!
Those storms were awful last night. DS crawled in my bed about 12:30 and I got no sleep from then on. He is a horrible sleeper - kicks and throws his arms about and grits his teeth!! I could fall over this morning and pass out. So tired~!!
No more lunches to be made!!!! Just a couple more half days (out by 11) and we are done for the summer. I don't know where this year went. I never did find the time to clean out the kids rooms. Oh, well.
Sandy, congrats on your anniversary. Hope you enjoyed a dinner date somewhere.
Rose, are you getting things together yet for the big vacation? I can't even believe I am leaving in less than 2 weeks. At least I got my Disney Visa in the mail in time to finish my shopping. Gotta have that card.
I have nothing remotely ready. No suitcases out, no clothes set aside. I don't even know what will and won't fit me or the kids this year.
PTO is completed!!! Had our last breakfast this morning and all I have left to is buy a few gifts for teachers and staff that really were a big help this year with our parties and stuff.
Paint, congrats!! You were a beautiful bride! Looking forward to seeing the rest of the pix.
Mac, how is your son today? Most dentists are usually willing to set up payment plans when a case arises. I sure hope you can get that taken care of soon. Your DS must be miserable.
Well, I think I will head out to enjoy some sunshine. We don't have the pool up yet - need new filter hoses. We will have to take care of that this weekend for sure. Looks like the next week is going to be a warm one.

Tiiiiigern - Thanks for the congrats We didn't go out to eat on our anniversary, but we are going out to dinner tomorrow, and seeing Blue Man Group - I'm pretty excited!!!!!

I'm not sure if I should go outside and walk (very windy) or stay inside - decisions, decisions!!! I guess I should wait and watch the weather and see what Tracy Butler says before I make my decision.

Good Friday Morning Everyone! had a rough day yesterday... apparently my gym shoes have caused my big toe nails to bruise... i didn't know this was possible but it is. i was told that from walking so much this weekend and then stuffing my swollen feet into my other gym shoes, my big toes were probably too smooshed. they hurt really bad so i've been wearing flip flops to work the past two days. last night when i got home, my neck had been really irritated and i was rubbing it I thought it was just my necklace but when i went to look in the mirror i had rubbed off two huge patches of sunburn... i attempted lotion but it burned... so i was trying to get that off with a towel. i decided to look for my aloe lotion b/c everyone always says use aloe on sunburn... well that burned even worse. it was bad, and while i was trying to pat it off my dog stepped on my bruised toenail. it was rough... when my dad got home and looked at it, he even said it was bad... i'm ok now though. i just hope the pinkness goes down. i've never had anything like this happen as sunburn usually turns right to tan for me. oh well, it happens i suppose.

Hi guys! Well, the rain has started up again, I hope it gets rid of some of the humidity . We do have the air on though thank goodness.

*I've heard the "bored" comment already too, yikes it's going to be a long summer .

piglet - sorry your air is not working, I hope it's fixed soon!
*I'm not much help on hotels either. I would think if the zoo is the only thing she's doing in the burbs that she'd be better off downtown.

mac - I hope your tree survived the storm. It's so sad when big old trees are lost. Last August in that bad storm we lost 6-8 biggies on our street, thankfully none fell on houses - close though. They've replanted new trees but it will be years before they provide the shade the others did.
*How is your son's tooth? I hope he found someone to help him.

disneygal - ouch, that sounds painful. I don't think there's much you can do for the sunburn right now. I have LOTS of experience with sunburn, unfortunately. Sounds like the new skin is still to tender and raw for anything. Cool compresses would help. Many, many of my dancers would bruise their big toenail from dance, sometimes it happens when your nails are long and hit against the top/front of your shoe. Hopefully you won't lose the nail(s), many times my dancers did - yuck!


OK, I need some advice. I have a relatively new neighbor next door, a young single guy. We are friendly enough but not close. He has started to put up a fence (on his own) along our property line. The stake from the survey is still in the back corner of the property but not the front. Should I worry that he is staying on his side of the line or should I just let it be? WWYD?

Ahh, the joys of home ownership .

Hi all!!

ID - I would talk to your neighbor about this I would say something to him like........."you may want to get a survey done to mark the property line out front, because if either one of us ever wants to sell our house, and it's not on the line, it could be a problem." When doing this, I would assure him that you don't personally care, and that you are just thinking ahead into the future a little. We had a slight problem with this with our current residence. The previous owner put a fence up slightly on another persons property, and when neighbor found out about it after we moved in, she had the town make Kevin move the fence - very frustrating!!!!

DG - Wow, you did not have a good day yesterday Here's a mountain of PD coming your way to help you feel better soon!!!!

Well, all the photos are in. I think she did a great job, although, I am reminded, yet again, of why I hate my schnoz! I can thank my Italian dad for that- you'll recognize the nose! In some pics I said it looks like I am about to peck dh with my beak. Dh said he hates his double chin. Oh well. At least we look happy!
