Wanted to share the Dis Pins DS and I made yesterday for our trip to Disneyland.

DISpins.jpg

I also posted on the Disneyland board...but we are looking for a t-shirt design for Dis. Any ideas?

11 days til we leave. For some reason it is sill not feeling real. I'm sure it will next week.

Have to get ready for work. Have a great day.

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: hope everyone had a splendid weekend. It was beautiful yesterday, but unfortunately I was doing homework most of the day. Went over to my sister's and played with my nephews for a bit. That was fun! My video went well i suppose. we need to edit a lot of it out b/c we went about 20 minutes over what is allowed. we did it 'amazing race' style. it was a lot of fun! also, i went to maggiano's for the first time saturday night for a birthday/graduation/engagement party. Mike and his cousin's bday, his other cousin and aunt graduation, and our engagement! it was a lot of fun... and a LOT of delicious food.

Slo ~ glad to hear the sleepover went well! :thumbsup2 i remember having sleepovers... ah, memories

Disneynut ~ your buttons look great! i made a lime green mickey head luggage tag thing that was hanging on my purse... didn't meet one fellow dis-er though :confused3 hope you get to!!

Good morning everyone!!!

The garage sale on Fri and Sat went really well!! In our subdivision alone there were over 30 houses, and then there were several more subdivisions near by having sales too.
We sold a lot. I dropped off books that didn't sell at the library this morning as a donation. And then I think I'll take the rest of the kid's clothes and toys over to Once Upon A Child, I always have good luck with them.

For those who asked, I have no idea yet where we will move to. We'd like to stay in the school district, but we'll see what we find.
This week we are painting upstairs. The kid's bedrooms and their bathroom need to be a more neutral color.:)

slo Glad the sleepover went well!!
My kids and Tony are wild sleepers too!!!
Hope Kevin had a great weekend.

Hersey When are you coming over with the Shark steamer?? I'm waiting!!!!! :goodvibes

Disneygal Sounds like you had a lot of fun this weekend.

irish dancer Happy Anniversary!!! :cutie:

DisneynutGreat pins!!!!

paint I haven't had a hangover in over 15 years!!! I don't think I could manage one now!!
Was Sunday your last day at work?

piglet I really liked the red color!! ::yes:: I too thought it made you look younger. :goodvibes

:welcome: to all the new peeps here!!! :yay:

Okay. Now that I have finally found the thread again ;) , I will do what I can to answer the questions/requests and tell y'all about myself.

Slo - It's kinda hard to chat regularly because this forum is so active. It took me a long time to find this thread again. I am still trying to figure out how to use all the buttons on this forum. I do enjoy posting randomly and you will most likely see me posting in all kinds of threads.

Roseprincess - Thanks again for the PMs. In answer to your question, I live in northern Lake County, Lake Villa to be exact. I love Ikea and I have spent 4 hours or more there on several occasions and never realized it. My family consists of my parents, sister, 4 year old niece, and other relatives that live on 4 of the 7 continents on this great planet of ours.

We have been to Disney World several times throughout the years since I was 11, though we have yet to take my niece there, mainly because we like to drive there. Gas prices keep going up, so we have to put bringing my niece there on hold for a while.

I am single, if anyone is interested. I love my Cubbies, love my niece, am willing to help my friends if I can, and of course I absolutely adore Disney.

Look forward to meeting everyone here and making more friends. :goodvibes

lake villa is about half an hour west of me.

i drove to disney 3 times in my life.

after that, flying is the only way..........too long of a drive.

I am so sore from my planting, which shocks me with the amount of working out that I've been doing the last couple of months:eek: My butt and thighs feel like I've been horseback riding for the last 24 hours - it must be from all the squating I did:rolleyes:

I went yesterday and bought some more dirt, and tonight I'm going to go buy some more flowers - I love flowers!!!! :flower2: It's great to have all the color in the yard :flower:

Disneynut - Those pins are fabulous!!! :goodvibes

DG - MMMmmmmmm.....Maggianos!!!!!:cloud9:
**I'm glad your video making went well :)

crazy and peter - You should go to "thread tools" at the top of the thread (not when you are posting) and hit the subscription button, and then choose to get email notifications. The The DIS will send you a link to the thread when someone posts on it - this will make finding the thread easy for you :thumbsup2

Bunchkin - I'm glad the garage sale went well :) I'm waiting to see if my brother and SIL have a baby or not, so I can give all my girls stuff to them (watch and they'll have boys:laughing: ) and if they don't, then I'm going to have another garage sale too ::yes::

HERSEY - We gave the same advice :) Great minds think alike!!!! :thumbsup2

Mac - We fly to Disney too ::yes::

I'm so glad it's dry outside so I can go walk outside this morning.
Have a good day today everyone!!

Hi guys!!

Welcome to our new friends, hope you stop by often.

Bunchkin - thanks for the anniversary wishes. I can't believe it's been 13yrs. We had a very nice dinner Saturday to celebrate.
*Glad the garage sale went well, best of luck on the house sale.

slo - congrats on getting so much gardening done. I weeded Sat for a long time and I can totally relate to the butt pain ;) .

mac - thanks for the show listings. I've got my kids addicted to the WDW shows too now. I found DD6 watching one that was taped just last night :cutie:

Well, I've got a bit of a dilema. We booked our WDW trip back in Dec. for the week before Columbus day this year. We used this past years school calendar, DS had the Friday before off and DDs both had the Thursday and Friday before off. We thought it was perfect, only missed a couple of days of school and we get 8 days in WDW. Well.............just got next years school calendar and they don't have any days off the week before Columbus day  . I haven't checked to see how much it would cost to change the plane tix but I imagane it would be a lot :scared: . They've missed school before and never had any problems making up the work so I'm hoping that I'm worrying for nothing. DH said we'd just have to let the teachers know right when school starts so that they'll know. He doesn't see this as much of a problem, I'm the queen of worry and I'm afraid it will stress out DD11 to miss a week of school in 6th grade. On the other hand we've never been in the fall and they all really want to go to MNSSHP. Has anyone pulled their older kids out of school?

Well, guess I have to go change my laundry load. Hope everyone has a great day!

Bunchkin- well, the hangover was my own stupid fault! You think it was bad 15 years ago?!? You don't even want to know how much worse it could be!!!
piglet- Love the red!
dgal- I used to sell SU myself! I scrap, but I haven't done a bit in the last year! Too busy! I've got a basement full of stuff, though!
id- I know pulling kids out of school is a heated debate, but my parents always pulled us out (not as often in HS). I think as long as your child is doing okay in school, it is not problem. i have 3 younger sisters and we are all successful, smart, responsible girls! Not a delinquent among us (aside from my drunken Friday evening!).
peter- We drove to WDW almost every trip (at least 20 times)- station wagon, then van. It is a looong drive!
crzy- Oh to find a WDW loving signifcant other! My dfiance has never been to WDW, but we are going for our hmoon. He had better love it, or there will be trouble!;)

the oldest mine were when i last pulled them out of school was 13.
it was too difficult to make up high school work and our hs has a policy of only 3 unexcused absenses per school year. after that, it is a referral to the police department for truancy charges.

i am going and will be returning on columbus day night.
looks like i will be there when you are.

woo hoo.

talk to the principal now before school is out. explain you have prepaid the trip already. ask if the school district has any policies on absentism due to vacations. and, ask the principal on the school policies on make up work.

then, go ahead and just plan your trip no matter what they say.....

it depends on your airline on the charges to switch dates.
united is now $100 or could go up to $150 to switch, american is $100 .

if you switch, you are paying for both coming and going trips per person.
it is too steep of a charge for a family. you could be doubling the cost of your air if you did that.

hopefully, you can find out answers before the school year ends so you don't worry all summer long.

let us know what happens.

Macraven - That would put you in the Gurnee/Waukegan area, am I right? It's so cool to meet people from my neck of the woods.

Slo - Thanks for the advice. I will put it to use so I can find this thread again whenever I want to.

Paintnolish - We've driven there every single time. My dad drove us there until I was 18. Then my mom drove us there twice. Now I am the one who handles the Disney World driving and I've done it three times already. I also hold the record for the shortest time to get there in my family, 26 hours. My dad holds the longest at 3 days.

I have been to Disneyland once and I would love another visit there. We would've gone there when we went to Vegas last October, there just wasn't enough vacation time available as we only had a week off.

hi.. sorry i have been MIA but between work and the kids activites, scouts and work and stuff.. things have been ... well they have been....

Hope everyone is well ..

Happy B'day, Anniversary, Happy Memorial day too for all of those I missed..

Memorial Day.. more scouts.. and band.. gonna ketchup..

:surfweb:

I'm feeling so tired this morning, and I don't know why :confused3

Today I'm off work, and I'm going to spend it all day cleaning and doing laundry - fun! fun!!!! It'll actually feel good when it's done, and I won't have anyone home with me, so no interuptions!!!!:thumbsup2 We are getting a new furnace and air conditioner today, so I have to be home for them, which is good, because that means I can't leave, which means even more will get accomplished :thumbsup2 It should be a very productive day!!!!!!:)

ID - I'm sorry to hear of the schedule change at school:guilty: I would talk to your DD and see what she has to say about it. If she seems stressed, and you know she won't enjoy the trip, than you may need to change something. But if she's okay with it, and seems okay with the makeup work, then I would keep everything as planned. Good luck with your decision :wizard:

paint and Mac - :wave2:

Peter - Believe it or not, my DH got us to Tampa in 18 hours :car:  It was such a long trip, and he swore that he will never do it again :sad2:

geffric - How's the new job going?

Well, I gotta run and do my indoor workout
Have a good day today everyone!!!

My best time was around 17 hours from Plainfield to Orlando. But, that was setting the cruise control at an even 100MPH most of the way. These days, I'm taking things much easier and laid back.
