anyone staying at the Radisson the night before? we did that for our 03 cruise and it worked out well - we had a mini DISmeet (men picked up pizza - thanks Dave) and ate at the pool
Im thinking Jon & I might head down the wk before and spend a few days at WDW - Dave most likely will fly down Fri, pick us up and we'll head over

Hi guys! I asked this same qusetion on the Cruise thread but not getting many responses.

Have any of you tried the Aqua Trikes on CC? Tim would like to try them but I do not if they are like the Peddle Boats. You peddle, peddle, peddle and get no where fast :rotfl2:

What are your experences with them? THI

Mary
Chuck and the kids did them while I was basking in the sun. They had a blast. Chuck said you do move in them but wouldn't go out on them on a windy day. Tina

Tina,

Your making me hungry, and the winds from NY are blowing CT way

ummm ummmm good.

It's funny because kids and Chuck would get excited thinking they were having what I was cooking for dinner tonight. I would have to say no no we are just having ravioli. :rotfl2: It was torture for them and I at least tested here and there. :goodvibes

We'll most likely be staying up at my mom's place the night before the cruise. It only takes about 90 minutes to get to the port area from my mom's house. Hazel and I made the drive before our cruise in January (left at 7:45am), and we still got to stop by The Perfect Gift and visit Shirley for about 45 minutes before turning our rental car in at Budget and then took the Budget shuttle van to the port. We arrived at the port about 10:15am.

When we went this past November we stayed at the Hampton Inn at Cocoa Beach. It was very close to the port. We rented a car and was at the port by 10:30. I would guess we would stay at the same place. Tina

Hello all and welcome newcomers!

Been away for a while but you all sure have been busy! We'll get to 200 in no time. Any bets on how many pages we will have on 8/19/06? My guess - 1,500.

Anyway, I'm not much for sharing personal details (kinda shy), but I could use a little of that P&PD right about now. I received a call this morning that my dad is in the hospital. He has been admitted for a blockage in his intestine. The doctors are watching him really close and they are concerned that he could perforate his intestine, which could lead to sepsis (sp?). They are giving him medication to hopefully clear out the blockage. If that doesn't work, he will need surgery to solve the problem. From what they told me, that procedure has some significant risks with it.

He has other medical issues that complicate his treatment. Among them, he is a prostate cancer survivor - as a matter of fact, his oncologist blew off the problem when he saw him earlier this week for a checkup. Gave him some medication for heartburn and told him to go home. Four days later, dad decides to go to the ER becuase of the pain.

It is so hard dealing with this stuff when dad lives over 1,000 miles away in Florida. And DH is out of the country on business - won't be home until Wednesday night. Been trying to keep him updated by e-mail. International servers aren't the quickest. At least the kids aren't driving me crazy today!

Thanks for listening guys. And say a prayer that all will be well again, if you would.

Denise

Denise, :wizard: here is some Pixie Dust for you and your Dad. Our family will have you in our prayers.

Tina, thanks! We may try it as long as we do not get too many wishy washy comments.

Denise: Sorry about your Dad! He is in my thoughts!

As far as the night before the cruise....we will most likely stay at the Radisson the night before the cruise, but I'm not sure yet. If we do, I would love to join in a mini-meet.

Diane

Denise--more prayers and :wizard: for you and your dad, coming from NJ!!!

I know how you feel with having a parent 1000 miles away and not being able to be there at the drop of a hat. My mom called me Tuesday morning telling me that her blood pressure was 228/100 and the doctor wanted to put her in the hospital, she refused to go because she doesn't have any health insurance. The doctor did give her a prescription for some stronger medication and I made a deposit into her checking account so she could pay for it. Luckily, she uses Wachovia Bank and we have a Wachovia branch here in town. I was talking with my mom today, and she said she was feeling much better. At least I will get to see for myself because we had already had a trip planned to Florida this coming week.

Andy, hope your Mom is feeling even better real soon :flower:

Mary

Thanks Mary, I know I will feel better once we get to see her on Tuesday!!! I'm working on a plan to help and try to release some of the stress she has been under the past few weeks. I hope she goes for my plan. My mom can be just as stubborn as me, when she wants to be.

Denise: Sending pixie dust your way. :wizard: Hope your dad gets better real soon. I know what it can feel like having DH away. My DH travels for a living. Sometimes he is only home on the weekends. The kids can be very stressful. ::yes:: Feel free to vent anytime........I will listen. :listen:

Andy: Your Mom sounds like my Mom ! She is stubborn also. It's frustrating with her being in Palm Harbor and me here. She can't stand the cold to long because her blood is so thin. Hope everything is o.k with her. :goodvibes

Good morning
Its Mon morn but Im in a wonderful mood - getting ready at 9am to phone Member Services. Since we decided to cruise on cash instead of pts I have some pts that will need to be used this yr. Im hoping to change over our 5 Pop nights this Aug to a VWL studio. Then we'll bank enough pts from this yr for 5nights at WDW before the cruise. Wish me luck
And decided not to start our APs as soon as we get to Disney this Aug (will pool hop, etc) want the APs avail for part of our WDW vaca before the cruise too.
It was a wknd of many decisions - thanks for your help everyone - I gotta try to get the most bang for my buck
Have a great day

and oh ya I get to go to work and ask for my vacation time for next Aug! lol

Hi RoseMarie,

I think our daughters are about the same age,
Caitlin will be 8 this June and 9 and the cruise.

I noticed in the list of potential cruisers your daughter will be 9 at the time of the cruise.

Yes she is very excited about our cruise this summer and can't seem to understand I have one booked for the NEXT summer! Victoria Rose loves the kids clubs and most everything about the cruise. She sailed a year ago and became friends with a little girl who is also cruising with us this summer.

Perhaps they can exchange emails soon!

Good morning everyone. We have a few questions, DH was actually into talking about the cruise last night.

Typically on the 7-day when is 80's night, what time?

Also, what is the latest they deliver breakfast room service?

THI, Mary

TIA, Mary :rotfl: , hey, it is early still :rotfl2:

Yes, it is a "Good Monday Morning," in fact it is the only day I have to work this week, as we leave for Florida Tuesday afternoon!!! :goodvibes :sunny: :goodvibes The forecast for the area of Florida that we are going to looks very nice for the rest of this week, high temps in the upper 70's to low 80's, overnight lows in the mid 50's, I'll take that!!! :)

Well, it's time to warm up the car and get DD to school, then come home and get myself ready for work. :wave2:

BTW, my suitcase is still not packed, but I do have some things sitting on top of it that needs to go inside, LOL!!! :rotfl:

Andy - have fun in FL - good luck w/your retirement home search, hope it works out for you - when do we expect you back?
