Darlene - Where did you stay. I went to the MNSSHP too. I bet it was you and Sandy that we saw. Sorry we didn't get to hook up but it is just as well anyway because I think it was a great opportunity for some one-on-one time between Mom & Daughter. I'm so glad you decided to go. Not that you can rest physically at WDW, but it sure does help the psyche. Next time lets meet up, except next time Stan will be with us!! BTW, I thought it was totally cool to see so many people dressed up in the MK.

We stayed at Shades of Green. Do you know it? It is a military recreational resort right across the street from the Polynesian.

One of the main reasons Stan insisted that I take Sandy on the trip was so she could spend some time with me. I was spending so much time at the hospital that she was starting to feel it. He also thought that if we canceled this trip that had been planned since the summertime that Sandy would see that as a sign that her daddy was much sicker than we were letting on. He didn't want her to worry. And he wanted me to get some rest. And I did! I even fell asleep in the shuttle taxi back to the airport. The driver woke me up when we got there.

Next time we will plan better and meet up for sure. BTW I was a little sorry that I hadn't dressed up a little bit, it was fun seeing all the different costumes. One of Sandy's favorite things was pointing out all the people dressed up. Did you see the family dressed as 101 Dalmations? They were cute.

Hi Guys:

After 5 long days Matt passed that last kidney stone on his own early this morning.

The hospital sent him home on Friday night because the insurance company said if they weren't going to do anything until Monday he had to go home. So the doctor told him to go home take the pain meds, drink a beer and sit in a hot bath and try to pass it on his own. Matt couldn't keep anything down so drinking beer was the last thing he wanted to do. I made him drink as much water as possible and finally my prayers were answered. The procedure they were going to do today would have been very painful and the next couple of weeks would have been bad.

It had to be all the pixie dust and prayers that everyone here sent that made this end. THANK YOU!

I will catch up later today.

Lyn

Glad Matt is doing better.

We are going on the Voyager of the Seas 12/18/04. My kids want to do DCL next August while we are in Florida.

Darlene - I work for DOD and alot of people from work stay at Shades of Green. I never stayed there because I have 2 timeshares that I exchange and go to Florida every year. Someone said you can discounted cruises from Shades of Green. Do you know if it's true?

I got weighed this morn and lost 2 lines, not 2 pounds, just 2 lines but hey, it's a start. :D

Have a great Monday.

Bev ::MickeyMo

BEV - You may be right about the cruise discount. I will check it out. I know you can get discounted park tickets. We get our tickets from there even when we stay somewhere else. Shades of Green closed for expansion and renovation last year and it is absolutely beautiful. This was our second stay there. We are DVC members and usually use our points but I really wanted to see what they had done in the renovation.

LYN - I am so glad Matt passed that stone! I hope he continues to feel better every day. Don't you just love insurance companies? But he was probably better off at home anyway. Please give him a . What can he do to prevent this from happening again?

Disney Addiction

Like most others, I became addicted to Disney as a child. I spent a good share of my early childhood living in southern California (greater LA area). We didn't move up north until my parents split up when I was nine. But, up until that point we went to Disneyland on a regular basis. So often, in fact, that I couldn't get lost in the place if I wanted to.

After I moved north to Washington with my Mom and brother, it was several years before we were able to go visit Mickey again. I can think of only two trips between the time my parents split up and high school graduation. I always used to watch the Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday nights. I also remember watching the reruns of the Mickey Mouse Club. Yes, Darlene I remember the mousekateer of the same name. As I recall she played the piano beautifully. (Now for a little Mickey Mouse Club trivia - Who can list the "theme" for each day of the week?)

I made my first trip to WDW in 1983. My brother was stationed in Panama City, Florida at the time. During my two week visit we spent several days at WDW/Epcot. As I recall they were still building the "Living Seas Pavilion" at the time. I had a great time on that trip. I even got my scuba certification (PADI) while visiting my brother.

Since then I've been to Disneyland once, six years ago. There were still building California Adventures at the time. I am so looking forward to going again this summer. It's been too long!
We also took Devin to WDW in Februaury 2001, to help celebrate his father's 40th birthday (before his father and I broke things off). Most recently we where hijacked by a mouse trying to avoid a hurricane, which is where I met most of the wonderfully crazy folks in this group.

Kid Update

Well, I let him live the weekend. Actually, he did an absolutely great job of getting his stuff done on Saturday. It took him until nearly midnight (and Mom did take pity and give him a one hour break during the evening to play with his best friend).

The play was fabulous. Devin really liked it and was telling his dad all about it on the phone last night. I was really tired by the time we got home, but we did a lot of walking. It's about 2 miles (uphill) from the Ferry terminal to the theater, about the same distance (back downhill) from the theater to The Old Spaghetti Factory and another couple miles along the waterfront back to the ferry. We walked a big triangle and boy, my legs sure told me about it when I climbed in bed last night. I'm just glad that we had good weather for it. It was gray and cloudy, but it wasn't cold or wet. YEA!!!!

Joanna

Actually I have a little vacation countdown timer that I keep on top of my stove. Right now it is counting down to our DW trip on the 19th but after that I will change it to our NCL cruise in April. I hope I have something else to countdown between cruises!

Lyn...Thank God, Matts ordeal is over, My little one had a recurrent UTI before we cruised, I know the feeling when they scream in pain and you can't do anything.

Thank you Darlene, about Jaclyn,,,
she was so frantic that day,, and it finally is over and she did look great.. She told everyone that my mom would make their next dress if needed.
She made all her dress for Christmas and even her Communion dress, now that Jaclyn is older the dresses are fancier to make. She even made all the Disney Princesses for Halloween.. even Ariel..
Karen, remember the RED HAIR....
Lynn so glad about MATT. I bet he is happier as well too.

I had to take a VITUS class today regarding "CHILD ABUSE". Very eye opening.. sad, and enlightening all at the same time. The world is not the same as it was 30 yrs ago. I work with kids at Daniels school and this is a class that is mandated of all workers and volunters to help recognize child abuse.

MARYROSE

Where did you stay. I went to the MNSSHP too
what is MNSSHP??

Thanks

Doreen

I didn't know what MNSSHP was either. Thanks for the info.

Doreen - loved the pictures of Jaclyn. She looked beautiful.

Bev ::MickeyMo

Doreen:

What can I say a beautiful dress for a gorgeous girl. Jaclyn looked fabulous. You must have been so proud.

CV:

Welcome back we missed you. I bet Taryn was so excited to dance on that stage it must have been great! I am glad you had a nice time and the weather cooperated.

Bev:

That is great on you weight loss every line helps.

Darlene:

How is Stan? Hope he is feeling better.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes for Matt. He is making up for all of his down time. He is bouncing off the walls.

Where is Bobby and Cindy? Has anyone heard if they sold their house?

Lyn

MIA
Bobby & Cindy and Ginny
Hope everything is ok.

Stan is doing ok. He's buggy and ready to be well. They did a tube test today on his drain. Wed we go to the surgeon and get the results. The radiology person who did the test "unofficially" told Stan that it looks like the drain will stay in for some time.

He has been craving beef stew but can only have really good cuts of beef, nothing tough or stringy. So I bought filet mignon steaks and cut them into cubes and made the most expensive beef stew I have ever made!

LYN - Matt must be feeling better, it's a good sign for him to be bouncing:bounce: . I'm so glad.

I do have one request, if I could...whatever your personal feelings on Iraq...I would appreciate prayers for my son Steven who is apparently right in the thick of things in Fallujah right now. He is with the 1st Battalion 8th Marines. It is very hard to watch the news. He should be coming home in Jan-Feb and I need that to come fast!

Darlene

Hi All... Im not MIA... just been really busy and sick the last few days. Ive been running non stop between cheerleading, football games, gymnastics, etc.... and Im the only one in the house that wasnt able to get a flu shot so Im the one that got sick...

Doreen - I agree with everyone else Jaclyn was stunning.

Darlene - glad to hear Stan is getting stronger. I bet that was one tasty beef stew. Does Sandy like Disney on Ice. I just got tickets to Nemo on Ice at the Wachovia Center on 12/31 @ 3pm FOR $10 each using the MCD code. Im gonna surprise the kids with those tickets as one of their gifts. I will keep your son (and all our other brave soldiers) in my prayers.

Carmen - thanks again for getting the lanyard. I didnt tell Connor yet, I will let him be surprised.

Bobby & Cindy - I too am anxious to hear how the house deal went.

Lyn - So glad that Matts kidney stones are finally gone. It has been such a long time that that poor kid has had to put up with all that pain.

Darlene:

I had no idea your son was involved in that. My prayers are with all the service men and women over there.

It really doesn't matter about our personal feelings on Iraq, those are our kids over there. I wish it would all end and they could come home permanently.

I can't even imagine how scared you are. Does he ever get a chance to call home? When he comes home in Jan-Feb does he stay home or have to go back?

I am sending major pixie dust and prayers Steven's way.

Lyn

Hi Everyone!

Doreen - Jaclyn looked gorgeous. She must have gotten her good looks from her beautiful Mom!

Lyn - Thank Goodness about Matt. Hope he recovers quickly from here on!

Darlene - My prayers, and greatest respect and admiration go out to your son Steven. I will pray for him and all of our troops at this most dangerous time. I do know Shades of Green. I can't stay there (no military affiliation). Is it nice since the renovations.

CV

CARMEN - Yes, Shades of Green is beautiful. They really did a nice job with the expansion/renovation. It was nice before but now it is on par with Wilderness Lodge.

Steven is my baby at 21. He is the youngest of my 3 sons. He is married to the most wonderful girl and they are stationed in NC, so that is where she is now. She is originally from Florida and that is where Steven's dad lives. They will settle in Florida when Steven is discharged next year. He campaigns all the time for us to move there, too. He holds grandchildren out like a carrot! Sandra is particularly close no matter the physical distance. He carried her around on his shoulders her entire first year! He still does. He is the one who gave Sandra the nickname "Sandygirl".

GINNY - I'm so sorry you got sick. We missed you. Slow down and spend some time with us, you'll feel better. Can you keep up with the Repo thread? I get so far behind and then I give up and just try to pick up new.

LYN - Thanks for the prayers. They mean alot. I just didn't want to start a political debate. You know how some threads can get. Just wanted some prayers for my son and his men. I should have known you guys would not be overly sensitive about it and would simply be supportive, as always. That's why I love you all:o .

Now I just need to know how Cindy & Bobby are doing.

Darlene

Darlene - I know what you mean about the repo thread.. I just gave up.. no way I can keep up. I see your on the list for early dining. we should link our ressies together. My kids would enjoy that.

Good Morning Fellow Cruiser Losers,

Today was my weigh-in day, and I lost 2 more pounds this week, bringing my total weight loss to 20 pounds. I also hit another milestone on Sunday. As I was getting ready for church, I had to get out my size 36 pants to wear as the 38's were too big. I kept all my smaller clothes from when I had lost weight back in 1997. I'm also down to the last notch in my belt, before long I will have to get a smaller size belt.

Let's keep the 2006 Weight Loss Challenge alive!!!

Good Morning Everyone:
It's been hard catching up over here. I have been very busy planning the wedding. We are getting soooo excited. Also getting a little stressed. Problems with the dress and my wedding band. Just wanted to pop over and say :wave2: I will try and figure out how to post pictures when I get back. Tina
