Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

We're back! lots of relaxation time - finished 1 book, started and finished another. Out for dinner, frog catching (Jon not me). I have a 6" rose tatoo on my lower back (airbrushed! lol). Beach a couple times, came home w/5 new additions to the hermit crab tank
Got on scale when we returned home and it looks like Im up about 5lbs - uhoh. Wont be easy loosing it either as the next 2wksn will find us at the Cape.
Andy - sorry to hear about your knee surgery. Glad you should still be able to make the Trails End DISmeet.

Dave finally informed me on the phone when we returned today that his upper ctscan showed a lump on his thyroid. He wanted to speak to doc before he told me though. Doc said its not large enough at this time to do anything about except to watch it. Dave will be having ctscans in 6mos then in another yr, etc.
He still wants Jon & I to head to FL Aug 13th. Everyone going before then please tell Mickey we're on our way

Andy, I am soooo glad that you can make it 8/19. Good luck with your knee surgery.

Sue & Diane - we'll be staying in Orlando from 8/27 - 9/2. Maybe we can all get together during that time.

I'm hot!!!!! At 11 am the temp in my house was 83. Called the AC guy and he said the central air can't be fixed. Doesn't know how long it'll be to get a new unit. The temp is over 90 so I'm leaving to take my mom to my brother's house 1 hour away and since I have 2 toy poodles, we can't stay there or any hotels. . So I will buy a fan, (like that's going to cool us down) and I will stay home with DS Harley, DD Lindsay and 2 DDogs.
I am not a happy camper.

I too thought it was a slow day, but maybe that isnt a bad thing. I wouldnt worry about those 5lbs, dont you know scales lie after a vacation, they are upset cause they didnt get to go.

Tina--everything went fine today and it's all go for Monday. My new recliner arrived this afternoon, but one problem, it doesn't recline, LOL!!!
We have someone from the furniture store coming tomorrow to take a look at it to see what is causing the problem.

Angelina's oral surgeon was very pleased with how far she has recovered so far, but he told her no popcorn, or any kind of nuts for at least a month.

We had some very severe storms go through our area tonight, but at least the heat wave is now over!!! It was brutal here, as like it was in many areas, the past few days.

Ed--as you are traveling to Florida on August 3rd, I will be having my first PT session at 9am, lucky me.

Good morning - weather is ALOT more comfortable this morn than yesterday. I did manage to get 1/2hr walk done before those thunderstorms.
Only 2days work this wk. Next wk is my only full work wk this summer - not bad. Hoping for a productive catchup/get ahead week! Ya right! We're short staffed.
Tomorrow night we leave to bring Jon to the Cape for the wk. (Planning on meeting Liz, a DISer we'll be spending time with our wk at BCV). Ive let Jon sleepover friends house for a night but this will be the 1st time he's away for a full week! How will I make it?! Will drive down again next Fri, celebrate DHs birthday and come back Sun Aug 7th.
Then it's surgery wk for Dave. Im hoping he's not in the hosp too long. Now he's saying he may be in longer than originally thought. Hopefully everything will go well and
Jon & I will be on that plane heading to Mickey's house in 16days!

I woke up this morning, and what a differance. , the sun is up, the temps are down and the humidity is gone

Took the dog for a walk and thought of that Travis Twitt song,

Stan had his staples removed yesterday. Hooray! He is much more comfortable. Sandy has pneumonia and I have bronchitis. Must be our nasty weather. Those were some big boomers last night!

Has anyone eaten here before? The menu looks great and so cheap (compared to other WDW restaurants). Do they serve cocktails?

I think it's been since about 1983 since we ate the the Trail's End. I'm guessing it was still called the Trail's End back then. It was during our "first" trip to WDW and we stayed in one of the FW trailers then. We had a couple meals at Pioneer Hall during that trip. My favorite was the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review!!!

Andy, glad your surgery is scheduled so soon. Trail's End wouldn't be the same without you. Glad Angelina is doing well. Here's some PD for you, too.

I was really scared last night with the crazy weather. It looked like a tornado around here. 15 minutes of this storm and lots of damage.

My day sucked and I just need to vent. On this past Monday, my mom passed out in the house. Luckily Lindsay was here with her when it happened. She was okay. Last night, I took my mom to my cousins's (who has air conditioning) and she slept there and came home around 10 am. Around 11 am, she got lightheaded again and was falling as Lindsay and I caught her and gently laid her down. Took her to the family doctor and then the ER. In the meantime, I had an appointment with my orthopedic doctor who gave me a cortisone shot for my elbow. Ouch. Went back to the ER. Man, does my arm hurt now. I was sitting in the ER with an ice pack on my elbow. Stayed with my mom until she got a room around 7 p.m. I am soooo down because I got my docs today for the Carnival Cruise in 3 weeks and the family doctor said she doesn't think it's a good idea for my mom to go. I told my brother that my mom might be staying with him for 2 weeks but he didn't sound so receptive. Anyway, for the past 20 years, she's always been there for us and always went on every vacation with us. It won't be the same if she doesn't go. How do I and what do I tell her? I feel so mentally and physically exhausted, hot (without the AC - didn't get it yet), and I don't want to ruin anyone's time. It's so hard to pretend everything's fine when I don't know if I'm coming or going. I'm sorry, I didn't want to take out my frustrations on my kids so thanks for letting me vent.

I wish I had some wonderful words of wisdom to share with you. All I have are ears (eyes??) to listen and a cyber shoulder to lean on if you need it. I'm glad you vented here. I do hope your mom is ok. Will the doctor speak with her and explain things first to soften the disappointment? And I know the AC being on the fritz is just compounding your frustrations.

How are you feeling, besides the elbow? You must still be recovering yourself. Take care.

Jon & I are leaving for the Cape in just a few hours. Dave was suppose to come w/us but called and said he's working Sat.
When I get out of work at 5pm I'll pack up Jon for his wk stay at MILs. We're planning on leaving here about 7pm.
Meeting Liz tomorrow morn for a minimini DISmeet. She'll be at the BCV during our 2nd wk at WDW. We'll talk about all things Disney, share pictures, plans, etc - in other words Get Psyched!
Now that Dave doesnt need to drive back here first thing Sun morn I may stay till later in the day to leave the Cape.
Have a great wknd everyone - when we wake up on Sun (unless we're up late!) we can say "We're going to WDW next week!"

Hi Guys

Hope you are all well, and that the sun is shinning brightly whenever you are. The weather over here at the moment is dull to say the least, its been raining most of the day, and I even turned the air con in work off today as it was getting a bit chilly.

Well a little over 3 weeks now before I jet off to Florida and to meet some of my dis friends. I am so excited.

Vicki is poorly with a flu bug at the moment, but better to get it out of the way now. I just hope I dont catch it.

I have recently discovered Ebay and I have made well over £300 in the last few weeks, which will come in handy for the holidays. Anybody else have fun with this.

Terry, thanks once again for the countdown, my its coming around fast now.

Andy, Thank you for my package today, I know how much you are waiting for Monday to come around,and to get rid of that awful pain. I will be thinking of you my friend. Take Care.
