Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

Andy so sorry to hear about your surgery. I would hate for you to miss Disney but I would REALLY hate for you to miss the cruise so better now than next year! You could always postpone your Disney trip for the following week & meet us for dinner! Yes that's right people I am trying to steal Andy away! Just kidding but I am sad that I miss your meet by just a couple of days. We arrive on the 20th & head to Sarasota & we arrive at POP on the 23rd.

My Mom lives an hour north of Disney & she took a bad fall this week. There's a chance I might be spending the next 3 weeks there taking care of her, but I won't know for sure till tomorrow. My sister that lives in Sarasota is trying to talk her into staying with her. If I do go, I would still have to fly home for school on the 20th before we fly back AGAIN that same night! I hate hate hate to fly but it looks like I might be doing lots of it next month!

No No No, sorry we are going miss you by a few days, but no fair trying to steal away people from the mini meet.

We may be the walking wounded but one way or another , by cane, walker and wheelchairs we will be there.

Ok so it sounds like a gathering of AARP members, at least we have a year to get healthly for the cruise.

Diane--so sorry to hear about your mom, I hope she feels better soon. My mom lives about an hour north of Disney as well.

Ed--Hazel signed up with AARP last March after she turned 50, so we have been AARP Members for over a year now.


We are looking at changing our arrival from Saturday August 13th, to Wednesday August 17th. This way I can still get in my PT treatments for the week leading up to our brief get-away. We would still fly home on Monday August 22nd. Actually, with making the change in flights, we saved a few dollars. Looks like now we will be staying at FW for five nights instead of six, and will be canceling the PC ressie, sorry Sue.

I just got off the phone with DVC MS and I was able to modify our ressie. God willing, we will now be arriving at FW on Wednesday afternoon August 17th and be checking out on Monday morning August 22nd. So, it looks like we will still be able to make the mini-meet on Friday night August 19th after all at the Trail's End Restaurant.

Thanks for the well wishes guys. It's official...our flights are booked & the kids & I leave Sat. for 3 weeks in sunny Florida. It's hard to get excited though, because I will miss DH & I will pretty much be in the house caring for my DM. She is doing well, but still in a lot of pain. She fell on her oxygen tank & broke a couple of ribs. This is not the first time she's broken ribs. Unfortunately it doesn't take much as her bones are getting brittle. Anyway, she needs someone to take her back & forth to the doctors, do her grocery shopping, clean, etc... Since I don't work (outside the house that is) it makes sense that I fly down. I just need to type a paper, send thank you cards from my DD's b-day party, do the bills, pack...aaaaah!

Andy: Glad you will make the meet! I hope you feel better soon!

Ed: I picture you all walking in Trail's End w/ crutches, walkers, canes...too funny!

Sue: I would definitely love to try & meet up with you at POP! We will be there from the Aug. 23rd to the 29th. We plan to relax by the pool that first day & again on Friday. Friday would be great because DH will be abandoning us for the golf course...so it will just be me & the kids. Will you be around at all then? If not maybe we could plan a lunch or dinner? Let me know!

It would be lovely to see some of you then! It would be great to put some faces to names before our cruise next year

I live quite a way from London, but I visit there all the time, it does make you nervous but life has to go on.

It would be great if you can join us, thankfully you reserved your own table because our tables are pretty well full. Hopefully, you will be able to sit with us or at least near us. The time of your ressie for dinner is just perfect because we have two different ressies one for 6:20 and one for 6:30, we are planning on meeting outside of the Trail's End at 6:00. Some of us will be wearing matching Cruisin' Castaways 2006 t-shirts, look for that group of people.

I hope to join you folks. I am going on Repo in a few weeks and planning on booking onboard for this cruise..I am pysched on going to CC twice. We did that once back in Oct 2001, on the Magic, unexpectly, and it was awesome!!!

I am looking forward to post with you guys when i get back from repo cruise. Is anyone using DVC points for this cruise??

Hi Mel,

Just arrived home from getting my EKG done and now have to take Angelina for her post op visit at the oral surgeon.

Not using any points for this cruise, it's all cash payments!!!
