I asked if they were going to release room only discount codes for anyone and he said, "sure, and very soon too". Hope this helps others that are waiting on these codes like I am. :D

We're booked for July 10th-17th at the cabins with a AAA discount, so I'm hoping to do a lot better with these codes. Does anyone remember how long after AP codes were released last year that codes for anyone came out??

thanks!:D

...we're looking for a code for FW cabins as well. We're booked for 2 nights at rack rate (I didn't even think of the AAA discount, and we have have AAA!!). Hopefully we can knock our price down a little bit. We don't have an AP and I can't see getting one for only two nights and can't use the 7 for 5 deal as we're already renting DVC points for our last 5 nights. Hopefully they do come out soon! :D :D :D

Thanks again:wave:

tks for the heads-up Tina26. We can't use the AP rates and are also hoping for room-only discounts. Hope they come soon:bounce:

For those of us that have booked the 7 for 5 package, if room only codes come out is it true that we cannot change from a package reservation to a room only reservation? Just wanted to find out in case codes come out and it would make it cheaper for us to not do the package- even thought the package is a GREAT DEAL!

You would have to make a new room only reservation and then cancel the package, that is provided you can. I am not sure what the cancellation policy is for packages.

Cancellation policy on packages is:

you can "modify" you package within 5 days of arrival from package to room only for a $50 charge

To cancel you have to notify them at least 45 days out. You can switch from a package to room only but they would have to refund whatever you've paid and then rebook a new ressie.

OK Great, THANKS! Now let's just hope those codes come out before August or I will be past my 45 days ;)

Well, I sure hope that they come out soon! I called for the AP rates, but all the standards are gone for my dates at the Yacht Club, and the waterview costs more than the AAA rate I have now for standard. I want my cost to go down, not up!

Here's hoping they come out real soon, and that they have the dates I need!

Just wondering if there ever have been codes for 1 BR villas.??What they have out now are for studios only at the Home away from home resorts.

now that the long awaited day has come and some of the hype has gone, anyone heard any rumors of when the room-only discounts might be out, if at all?:smooth:

Patti:

When I called this a.m. I was told that the 1 and 2 bedroom villas are rarely included in the package promotions, room only rate, AP rates, etc. That being said, there was a 1 bedroom villa at Boardwalk available for the 7 for 5 deal. So, it would seem it is not impossible, just difficult :D

I was looking for VWL for November and I could not even get AAA rate on it. At this time, we have AAA for OKW, but want to change.
Patti
Thanks for the info!

Unfortunately, we will have 7 on this trip and there was no way I could figure out how to get us all into a 1 bedroom villa! I still have hope that something will open up (don't really want the 7 for 5 deal; would be as happy with a room only code or AP for the September time period :D )

We are purchasing an AP for about $150 more than my ticket would cost me - it's saving me $150 per night (2 rooms @ AKL - saving $75 on each) for a saving of $1050

$1050 (savings)
- 150 (extra spent on AP)
----------------
$900 saved!!!

Sometimes it is worth considering an AP even if you don't plan on going more than one time a year

Bumping to get some opinions.

When I spoke with a CM this afternoon, she seemed disappointed that there was no availability for what I wanted with the 7 for 5 deal. In chatting, I mentioned that we also had the Disney VISA card and were hoping for room only rates for September. She got very animated and went on and on about what a TERRIFIC card it was and that we should keep watching for special room rates. Take it for what it is worth, but it really seemed as if she was telling me to watch for Visa room only discounts in the near future.......

Yeah, this gives me hope. Since they announced the 7 for 5 deal and the Disney Visa deal on Mousesaver, I thought for sure that was it on the discounts for summer. But now it seems as if there's a pretty good chance for a room only discount code. I just hope it isn't connected to Disney Visa as my DH is already having a bit of a cow about this trip and would never agree to getting a new CC; no matter how much of a discount we're getting. :p
