Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk is now open

Has anyone done a split order on an entree? I was thinking about it for the po boy since it’s gigantic.

We just got back from a 4 day trip. I ate at the Cake Bake Shop twice, lunch with my 2 daughters and breakfast by myself. My impression... expensive but absolutely delicious and worth it..
We will definitely be going back.

Did you have the cake? Surprisingly, for a place called the Cake Bake Shop, most people (including my wife and daughter) consider the food to be better than the cakes...in fact, there haven't been many gripes at all about the food besides the prices, but the cakes seem to be widely panned as dry or not as much flavor as expected.

we LOVED The Millionaire cake that we had.

We tried the chocolate cake, the red velvet cake and the raspberry champagne cake. The red velvet cake was a little too sweet for me but the chocolate cake and raspberry champagne cake were wonderful. I think it just depends on what you are used to. If you eat a lot of sugary foods, you may not care for the raspberry cake since it is not overly sweet.

That is the one I wanted, but apparently they took it off the menu when my wife went? I imagine that would have been right up my alley.
Same here. We were there over Christmas/NYE and it was not on the menu. The famous chocolate cake was underwhelming. The Red velvet was really good and so was the Mary Antoinette (very sweet but it had a burst of flavors of rose, vanilla custard, and raspberries). I took a few bites (ate 1/3).

We did end up throwing the leftovers as the monorail went down (stuck on it for over an hour; boats and buses to the monorail resorts had 1-2 hour waits) and then we struggled to get to our Boathouse ADR (cake slices were outside for 3.5 hours so we didn’t want to risk it).

We bought a slice of the Pixie Fetti Birthday Cake tonight to celebrate my birthday and shared it among five adults, who all enjoyed it. I thought the cake was moist and had a nice vanilla almond flavor as advertised, and the frosting did too, although I prefer buttercream to whipped frosting. Tomorrow night we plan to buy another slice, and DD gets to choose the flavor, to celebrate finishing the Marathon!

Unfortunately they may never load into MDE as we have found. I got a reservation by calling.

Calling WDW Dining, or the shop directly?

I will need a reservation to park at BWI, so if I call the directly can I obtain an ADR?

And the final question :). What is the expected wait time if I don't have an ADR, for say, 1/20/2025 at 6:30pm?

That’s a holiday weekend. I would expect a 1-2 hr wait. Why not book on Open table?

Call the shop directly at 407-574-3040 and select the Boardwalk option. They will send a reservation confirmation email. You can show that to the guard upon entry.

Thank you! If you hadn't taken a snapshot I may not have believed you :).

I thought I had gone to Open Table as soon as I learned that it was an option, but it came up with nothing. But it did not look like your screenshot either, so I don't know what I did. I also went to the Cake Bake main site and tried their site and came up with nothing.

So, really frustrating that via the Disney site I would have never come up with a ressie. Same with Topolino’s Terrace at the Riviera... I was never going to get a ressie their because, as I have now learned, it is being refurbed for a couple weeks.

This is such a random tip but if you're trying to see the times on Open Table on Mobile, try checking Open Table on Desktop instead! After trying to find Cake Bake times on my phone once or twice and nothing loading, I randomly checked on my laptop over the weekend and sure enough times were wide open for the week we're going. Good luck!

For some reason, CBS is not consistent on MDE or OT. I’ve seen availability for weeks out, then only a few days, check again minutes later & everything is available again. I’ve never seen this with any other restaurant & I use OT fairly regularly. So if you don’t find anything, just keep checking. The next time you look, every time for every party size will probably be available. Although they do seem to disappear for good a day or 2 before. So book soon for the 20th.
