Caitlin Clark Is Supergirl

She's not saying Caitlin Clark is racist, she's pointing out that Clark was doing that John Cena hand thing the whole tournament and nobody was criticizing her for it, but when Reese did it she was called unsportsmanlike. It's the people who didn't care when Clark did it, but criticized her that were racist.
Clark wasn't criticized for doing it because when Clark did it, she didn't do it in someone's face like Reese did. And pointing to her ring finger while doing it in Clark's face was unsportsmanlike.

Exactly & it’s true. All season, there have been ppl calling Angel ghetto & Caitlin a super star when they have had similar behaviors on the court. And Jill Biden inviting both teams is a slap in the face. I doubt lsu told her to stop talking. It’s amazing how many ppl nationwide were pulling for the mostly all white girl team. Racial bias is real & so ingrained in our culture that most ppl don’t recognize their own. That’s what Angel was referring to. Iowa was not the underdogs in this game. Lsu dominated. No one predicted LSU to win.

I found the whole episode criticizing and demeaning LSU very disrespectful and sad. All we heard was Clark 24/7. Was there really no other excellent basketball players on the court?

Honestly, I don't like girls basketball but I did watch the championship game because after seeing clips of Clark playing, I wanted to see what the hype was about. She's the only reason why I watched the game and I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one.

Clark handled the whole situation impeccably. She admitted that gloating is part of the game and she has no ill-will against Reece and said that nobody else should either. She said emotions run high during games and she would never want that to change because it is part of women's basketball. She said she would never want to go to the white house as the runner-up because it takes away from the winner's moment. People were projecting how Clark felt or should feel about the whole situation and it wasn't true at all.

Did you watch due to the heavy media coverage of Clark? The women's teams got more attention than the men's teams this year.

Yes, I did. I normally only watch the men's games.
Our family really got into it this year because my 15-year old and 12-year old are playing travel basketball. My 12-year-old loves Paige Bueckers of UConn (she was recovering from a torn ACL this year). She should be back next year. She also likes Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston and Azzi Fudd. Media coverage helped the women's teams this season tremendously.

Jill Biden had no power to extend an invitation and Angel Reese handled it in an embarrassingly petty way.

When you are told your entire life that you mean less to society than others, anger builds up in you.

It was still an embarrassingly petty response in many ways. One was that she acted like she spoke for the team, plus declining a visit at all. Then she started talking about visiting the Obamas, who to my knowledge hasn't extended an invitation to visit.

The only times I've heard of a team visiting Obama (as a former President) rather than the White House was when the White House refused to extend an invitation to a championship team. And for whatever gaffe Jill Biden made, I don't believe that she did it in any malicious way. As far as I know she's not a particularly divisive person.

Right & then when you finally claw your way to the top & win fair & square & then you’re told the other team played well & will be afforded the same honor.
Hopefully this will start the ball rolling with the "everyone gets a trophy" crowd.

What a terrible mindset.

The school two counties over stopped doing Honor Roll. Because it was hurtful to those that didn't make it >:(

I believe the quote from Mrs. Biden was "I'm going to tell* Joe we should invite... " *tell might have been "ask". So no, I don't think Jill actually extended an invitation.

I do sense that it was almost tongue and cheek. But besides that, it sounds like Angel Reese seems perpetually aggrieved. That's not a good way to go through life.

The tough girl, victim attitude is annoying. Especially coming from someone that had such a privileged upbringing.

But it is equally annoying to win and have the losers also be invited to the White House.

She could have spoken with better manners concerning Dr. Jill Biden. Her parents apparently didn't teach her how to present herself in certain situations.

Perhaps it might appear that way to those who have the luxury of experiencing white privilege and more so white male privilege.
