Cabin Door Signs - Character Names PLEASE READ 1ST POST

Hello Sandy!

I hope you don't mind another request ...

I have copied a Michele (for myself) and a Nicole (for daughter); however, I cannot find a MARK.

Would you mind doing a "MARK" -- anything Pirate like would be wonderful?

Thank you in advance and thanks for sharing your gift with everyone.

Michele

Sorry -- we are not leaving until the EB Repo -- no hurry!

Sandy,

We are going on our 2nd disney cruise (1st one on the Magic!) in December 08! I cannot wait! I looked through the tread and could not find Jack -- could you create one for my son? His name is Jack but he would also like it in Jack Sparrow design if possible.:worship:

Thank you!
Debbie:santa:

Thank you so much Sandy!!! The kids love them and I really like the graphic you used for DH & me. :lovestruc

Well I have stumbled into this thread and LOVE the designs. I have found a coulpe and even found a request for one of our names, but did not see it done anywhere, but since you are doing such a FANTASTIC job on these do you mind adding 2 more names to your list?

Luke - Pirate Mickey
Rachel - Pirate Minnie

The - Pirate combo Minnie & Mickey
Scott's - Pirate combo Minnie & Mickey

You RULE!!!!!! Thank you thank you thank you

We leave December 5, 08 for a week on the Magic.

By the way, did I say thanks?:cool1:

Thanks for your help Zandy595. At one point some one had a link to a thread that had all sorts of these names in alphabetical order. There were names with High School Musical and Hannah Montana backgrounds. I spent all afternoon looking for it yesterday but cannot find it. Everyone is doing uch an amazing job with all of their designs. I've been able to find all but 2 names of the people in my party. Could you make the following 2 for me:

Bruce (Pirate Mickey & Minnie)
Betty (the Minnie design that you used for Miranda)

Thanks again for all of your help.
If you ask your question on the Creative DISigns forum I'm sure you'll get an answer.

Just to clarify... which Mickey design would you like for Donald, pirate Mickey (like the ones on this page) or sorcerer Mickey?

Hi Sandy! I'll echo everyone in saying these designs are great and you are wonderful to do this for all of us!

I have found Emily and Faith in the names. I couldn't find Kurt or Natalie. Kurt is a 10 year old boy, Natalie will be 17 months when we cruise. Whatever characters you have that would be appropriate would be fine.

Also, could you make Grandmama and Daddo? The other adults are Ginger, Chuck, Jeanna, and David. If you have time to make those, wonderful. If not, that's okay too.

We leave October 2 for our October 4 cruise (in 72 days  ). So, no huge rush.

Thanks again!
Ginger

Anything is better than what I can do, I thought there were seperate pirate mickey and minnies sorry about that. If you could do them on anything I would be VERY appreciative! Thanks again for all the work

Thank you.

If you don't mind, it would help me out a lot if you would tell me which designs you'd prefer (out of the ones I've posted in this thread). That way I don't have to think about it  and you won't get something you don't like. That has actually happened and no offense, but I don't have time to redo them.

would you happen to have just regular old mickey??? or better yet, Donald Duck?

Since I'm sure Sandy is busy making names ;) , I'll pop in here and help her out....

You can get the paper at either Wal Mart or online. At Wal Mart it is a little pricey, the pack of paper is small (5 pages ? I think) and costs around $10. You can find it by the photo and specialty printer paper> or you can buy it online, here is a site that sells for $1.00/sheet : magnetic paper

Oh, definitely keep it all together. It is much easier and will look better that way...imo.

The magnetic paper should work in any printer....it is actually pretty thin, thinner than some card stock. You should not need to make any adjustments or add/remove parts. :thumbsup2 As far as printing them..I happen to have just typed up this to help someone else so I'll share it here too...

There are a couple of ways you could do this...

Magnet How-To:

1. If you don't want to mess with the expense of magnetic paper, you could print them out on paper. I wouldn't print them directly on colored paper because you won't be able to see the design as clearly. You could print them on regular white paper then glue to a colored piece for background..or just cut out the design. I've heard people sometimes laminate regular paper signs to make them more sturdy, since you have to put magnets on the back and sometimes thin paper doesn't hold well...So then you could glue magnets to the back and, voila! Door sign.

2. This way may be a tad bit more difficult but it is the method I prefer. You print the design directly on magnet paper. You can buy it at most Wal-Marts (by the photo paper) it comes in a pack of I think 5 or 10 81/2 by 11 sheets. I don't remember how much it cost but it was relatively pricey...maybe $10/pack(?) Or you can order it online. Anyway it is a thin magnet paper that goes right through your printer at home...just print the design...cut the magnet out and slap on your door! It's great!

A couple of tips....I always print the designs (like the names) at the size they are made. Resizing them can sometimes make the image blurry or pixellated. Since the paper is expensive, I try to put as many magnets on one sheet as I can then cut them out individually. One good way to do this is open the image, copy it and paste it into word. Repeat with other magnets....click on "print preview" to make sure everything is on the page...then print. And make sure once you print them...lay then flat to dry for a while...I leave mine overnight...the magnetic paper is not very porous so it takes a while for the ink to dry. I smudged my first magnet by not waiting long enough.
And one more tip....always print a "test sheet" of your magnets on regular paper first, that way you can be sure the designs will print correctly without wasting a sheet of magnetic paper.

Hope this helps ya'll....happy printing!:thumbsup2

Jen, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! for helping out. I am so challenged and totally in a panic so I have printed out your post and I feel much better!:wizard:

If you ask your question on the Creative DISigns forum I'm sure you'll get an answer.

Thanks for the advice Sandy. I did just that and some one was able to point me in the right direction. Unfortunately though, they do not have any Bruce or Betty's. We will be leaving for our cruise on August 9th. I would certainly appreciate your wonderful help with the name designs. Thank you.
