Cab or Disney Bus and Luggage Transfer?

We are switching resorts halfway through our stay and are trying to decide. In the past when we switched, we let WDW transfer our luggage for us and took a bus to the EE park and then a bus (or Monorail) back to the new hotel to check in early (better room selection and to have it done) before heading off to the park. We would like to do EE on the day of our transfer, so we were wondering which would be better... to do as we have done in the past, or to just get a cab to take us (and luggage?) to the new resort so we can save time to get to the park. We will be going from Pop to AKL.

Any thoughts???

This is really just a personal choice.

If it were me, I'd use a cab. That way, I'd be able to check in early when the lines to check in are probably shorter. I might get lucky and be able to get into the new room right away. If not, I'd know for sure that my luggage was at the new resort with Bell Services and available whenever I needed it. To me, that would be worth the price of the cab - probably about $15.

If that doesn't really matter to you, then let Disney do it.

We changed resorts last summer and had our luggage transferred by Disney. But, we were going from CR to BWV. WE checked out early and went to Epcot, then walked over to BWVs to check in early afternoon. Had to wait for our room, so had no luggage. Had to wait for that too!! I think I remember someone saying that the value resorts can take a very long time getting your stuff moved. We did take a good sized tote and rented a locker in the park so that if we needed something we had it.
Does anyone know if your are allowed to take your luggage on the buses? Thought I read someplace that it wasn't allowed.
