We may be needing to use a cab a few times during our upcoming trip, and I'm wondering what the prices are like, on average. I'd like to use Disney transportation as much as possible, but who knows when we'll need to splurge due to time constraints.

For example, how much would a fare cost from POFQ to Poly?

Poly to AKL in December was $14 for dd and I. Dh paid $18 from AKL to contp.

All the trips we did by taxi ranged from $14 -20. Poly to DTD, DTD to Epcot, Epcot to AK, ASSports to GF, AK to Poly. Poly to Seaworld was $28. This is the price before tip.

We want to take a taxi from POFQ to Sea World in September. Did you call a specific company directly or did the resort call them for you? I have no idea how this works and it's making me nervous, LOL. I think I'm afraid I'll get in, they'll drive me around on back roads for an hour, and then charge me $100 cab fare, LOL. :rotfl:

Anywhere we have gone has been $15 or less, including tip. We've done Swan to AKL, Swan to Poly, Wilderness Lodge to Pop and AKL to Pop. I plan for $20 but it has always been less.

Are you a TGMer too? My name over there is EmmaKate, in the Sept and Oct clubs. Anyway -- no we did not call for a cab. There were always cabs outside of the Poly so our intention was to just take a cab. When we asked the...name escapes me, the guy who stands out front and directs cabs & busses and cars and deals with luggage,

when we asked him to get us a cab, a town car driver was standing nearby, he had been stood up by his pick up, and he said he could take us for the same price.

We left the Poly at 730am -- that is the time the front desk told us to leave if we wanted to be there by 830am (opening at 900am) We got there way too early. It was 750am and there was nothing to do.

Thank you, that is quite helpful. I'm sure I won't luck into the town car, but I am capable of asking -- was it bell services? -- to help me find a cab, LOL. So, to get there at 8:45 I would want to leave POFQ around 8:20ish. Not bad.

We were also considering taking a taxi back from the Poly after our 'Ohana dinner, so I'm happy to hear they're plentiful there.

We never use cabs around here, being in a rural area. It makes me nervous. I've only used a taxi once in my entire life, when we flew into Washington for a concert. The driver took us in circles, pretended not to speak good English (after we got into the cab), and way overcharged us. It was not a good experience. :headache:

Yes, I am a TGMer, same username as here, and I'm in the September club. :goodvibes

I felt like the cabs were sort of a rip off. However we used them 3 seperate times. They are a lot faster than waiting for the busses. We used them in June 2006. From Contemporary after a late dinner to ASMU was like $18, from ASMU to Grand Floridian for a pirate cruise was $14.00 and from ASMU to contemporary for breakfast was $18.

Be sure to ask your driver if he knows where he is going before you get into the cab. My son and I were running late for a character breakfast and decided to take a cab from Pop to the Poly - got in the cab and the next thing I know, we are off Disney property heading into Orlando. Idiot driver luckily turned off the fare thingy and drove us around until we finally found it. We were very late for our reservation and had to pay the guy $15 on top of that!! We would have been better off waiting for the bus.
