Hey all! I have the dreaded W5D3 (the 20 minute run!) I am dreading it. Hopefully I will make it through, though. I don't want to have to repeat it!
Any advice on not getting bored or letting myself quit?
I've tried to post this 4 times from my iPod touch, if it doesn't work I am going to bed. For the 20 min run, don't even give yourself the option of quitting for 10 minutes, then push through the next 5, then you can't give up, you're almost there. Mental segments, great music, you can do it!!!
I did get my run in tonight, in the rain, at dusk, and I rocked it! Nice faster pace, a lot less leg pain, but it was a few steps back from w5d3. I'm not sure why the program does this??!!
Your post reminded me...I have plantar fasc in my left foot - yesterday I used KT tape and NO PAIN! It was fabulous!![]()
Please tell me about this. I have it in my right heel and it's really been bothering me. I have a brace I wear at night, but it doesn't seem to be working. I do ok when I run, but usually the day after I'm in terrible pain.
Thanks!
I survived the dreaded 20 minute run!
I use an application on my Droid that beeps when I should be running and beeps again when I should walk. It counts down the time. Well, I learned a few weeks back that if I can see the thing (I set my phone on the front of the treadmill) it KILLS me to watch the time count down. Since then, I always make sure that I have something to cover the phone up for the running parts. Did that make any sense?
Well, I had a new playlist, and once I started running I made it through the first song and was curious as to where the time was. I decided that at the end of the second song I would peek at the phone and see. Lucky for me, I somehow managed to pick two long songs for the first two songs (6 minutes and 5:30 minutes) so by the time I peeked I was halfway done! Anyway I just kept peeking after each song and made it through. Silly, I know, but whatever it takes, right?
Now, I am only doing a 13 minute mile, so I might not be running fast enough, but I figure that I will make it through the program then work on going faster. That makes sense, doesn't it?
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well!

Hi! I'm new!
My name is Amy, I'll be (gasp) 30 on 3/24.
I'm aiming to run the Princess Half-Marathon 2011, and hoping to start Couch to 10k this weekend!!!
Welcome! I just joined this group this week, and my goal is also the Princess Half in 2011. I am an old lady compared to you. I am 36 today (3/12)!
A few questions for you guys...
1) Since there are only three training days a week, do you take the other four off, or do you do other activities, or do you just plow ahead with the next week?
I do the c25K every other day, regardless. I do yoga, an ab video, and sometimes a little strength on the off days.
2) Do you treadmill or run outside, or some combination of both? I just joined a gymscared1
, but the gym is also about 20 feet from Central Park! The park won't be an option this weekend, as we're in the middle of a monsoon, but I figure it'll be more practical running rehearsal for WDW.
