Thanks to everyone for sharing in our joy!

Laura still needs help going up and down stairs, and assistance getting up from low surfaces. She does really well getting up from chairs that have arms she can push off of. Those darn quads are what's still weak. It seemed like she went for several weeks when there was no progress then boom - she seemed so much stronger and took off using the cane! She is awesome! She's attending 2 classes a day at the jr. high now and still going to 3 therapy sessions a week, which are helping tremendously!

Marsha (mickeyfan1), Laura had a heart transplant when she was a baby (she's 13 now) but has been doing fine until last fall. She got an infection in her brain & spine and we almost lost her. She was in childrens hospital for 51 days. Within the first 3 days she had lost all ability to walk and didn't have the strength to even turn herself in bed. So she's come a very long, miraculous journey!!!
