BWV room request

Indeed, they are the rooms (I assume that's what drones means above?) n2mm and I want. The jester smiley next to it acknowledges that we are in the minority. (Now, if you like them too and are afraid that we'll start swaying folks and gum up the availability of them, I do apologize. But the "long hallway" crowd has a big market share, so I think we're safe.)

Besides, someone has to have them. Why not have owners who like that area in that area?? Isn't that best for all?
I'm confused. I thought that the tennis courts were all the way at the south end, implying a long hallway. But I'm still not grokking the layout. Where on the map is the elevator located?

It is a long hallway from the elevator but the benefit is there is an exit on that end that goes over to the bus stop and parking lot. If you are on floors 2 to 4, you can take the steps down to the exit.

When I book standard view, I request top floor, across from the bus stop. I always got rooms on that end, one time even 3123.

I'm sorry Alice Sr. Esp. since I'm one of the folks 10-15 years ago who would write cautionary tales about Jersey Week. :ssst:

Those hallways sure are long. (Stairways and outside. What hallways?? pixiedust:)

And then after a looonng exhausting day at the parks you get to climb back up those steps, or down that loonng hall from the elevator.:faint:

Good point, I heard they actually get longer as the day goes on.::yes::

They are all the way south, almost to HS. I'm not sure which map you are looking at but I think the elevators should be identified. You can do a search here also, there are a couple of maps out there and room locators (search posts by Shamus I think) that should help. Also, TouringPlans has a nice room locator that comes with their package (12.95 a year).

Okay, stay away from 'my' rooms!

The stairs have to be climbed.

The view is of a parking lot. (Shhh...don't say anything about the water view.)

There are always birds nests on the balconies.

Fantasmic and Illuminations will keep you awake.

You will be tempted to walk to DHS.

There is free filtered water.

Your car may be closer. (Particularly after the reno - right now you may just get a screw in your tire - I did.)

Other than aforementioned noise, it is generally quiet - people with kids don't want these rooms. No hall noise from walkers of halls.

If you need exercise this is the place.

But, it's a long way to go if you just need more cream for your coffee...

It's so far from the Boardwalk you'll think you are at SSR.

If you have an ECV you will have to stop for a charge on the way. There are convenient outlets in the long halls.

These are miserable rooms but someone has to take them. Us volunteers should be recognized!

You forgot to mention that those rooms are dark compared to other 1 bedrooms - they really need more light fixtures. (Truthfully, they are not a favorite of mine for that reason. We don't need the extra space).

ITA, Carol. It would be interesting to see photos of the x123 rooms after they are renovated. Perhaps they are adding more lighting.
BTW, I have a 100% success rate in getting the x123 rooms when booking a 1 bedroom standard. But then I have only booked once when BW view was already full. :rotfl2:

I've never stayed in the 123 rooms. I'm usually in a standard studio, but do a one or two bedroom when I have 3 or more of us on our trip.

I've heard so much about those 123 rooms, but never that they were dark.

That wouldn't appeal to me either - I like light and sunshine.

Am I totally flaking or does the sun wake me up (guess it would depend on the time of the year) when "way out yonder, standard"?

During the daytime we found the x123 rooms to have plenty of light. But at night the light in the living/dining room was very poor.

Unfortunately I'm finding that to be true for most rooms as they have switched out the incandescent bulbs. I haven't verified but I don't think they are replacing with bulbs that have the same lumens. But the eyes are getting older too. I'd prefer to stick with less lumens as the problem though! :rolleyes1

Well it continues. I'm in a standard studio here at BWV. I just checked in today. I request high floor and got the 2nd floor. I request not near elevator and near tennis courts and got a room just a few doors down from the elevator. I also have a not refurbished room. Next time I'll be requesting near bus stop. I also have three giant size cranes outside my balcony to look at while having my coffee in the morning.

Bummer! I never mention elevator if I don't want to be near it. I think that often they just glance and if they see that they'll think you're asking to be by it. We usually have good luck at least getting our first request filled so I definitely prioritize for what is most preferred.

Oh man, sorry to hear that. I hope you are not getting the terrible noise that others have experienced. Does it appear their current work is just on the 3rd floor now?

The floor above us is closed off. We just got here last night. I'll post back. The bed is so old we sunk in the middle. We had the manager come in last night because the balcony is so dirty that it's gross....piles of dirt and debris. They are sending someone by today.

We're checking in Nov 9 for 8 nights (standard view, 1BR). I think our only preference is to get a renovated room. Should I put that in our room request? Or specify a high floor (as it sounds like they're working from top to bottom)?
