BWV Guess On When Next Refurb??

Totally agree with you as our last three DVC stays have been at HH. However, our experience has been that mousekeeping at HH is superior to BWV so there is at least that. I can handle shabby better as long as it is clean.

agree! HHI housekeeping and their cast members are the best. they do a great job with what they have to work with!

I am generally the furthest thing from a conspiracy theorist but I can’t get it out of my head what a shame it would be for DVD if BWV and BCV had rooms as nice as Riviera.

The pictures I saw were not really soft refurb. It was more than curtains and carpet. They're putting in a murphy bed and adding banquet seating instead of table and chairs. Curtains were new, furniture was all new and new art on walls. It really looked nice; modern without taking away the pacific northwest feel.
Is there a link to the pictures?

So BWV is our home resort and we haven’t been in years, mainly due to Covid. But we have planned a large trip with extended family in Sep and many of them will be staying on property for the first time. This thread has me thinking we should try to move to a different resort at the 7 month mark. I don’t want their first experience on property to be the “shabby” rooms at BWV. Sad because this is a resort I fell in love with years ago and wanted my extended family members to experience it the same way.

We booked our Welcome Home visit here for this January. We booked a second room for my mom and my aunt on points, and told them how wonderful Disney is. We stayed at Yacht Club in May and based our rave reviews on that stay. Every post on this thread as well as others are making me think I'm ultimately going to be disappointed with this trip, and that I'm going to ultimately disappoint my family who haven't been back to the parks since 1989. Fingers crossed that it's not as bad as the boards paint the BWV to be. :/

BWV was our last trip to WDW over New Years of 19/20 and the rooms were just the same then as it was following the refurb. Is the style getting to be a bit dated vs new resorts? Of course but it wasn't actually shabby in our experience. And are there rooms with issues? I'm sure but that exists at every single resort I'd believe. I remember staying at BRV when people were reporting what terrible shape the rooms were in. Ours was perfect. Oh wait - we needed new batteries for the TV remote.

Our last trip to BWV was Jan of this year. The room was fine until we went to see the rooms at the Riveria Resort, after that our room looked shabby. What you have to consider is the BW is over 20 yrs old and RR is only two (?) yrs old? Give the RR 20 yrs and it will look shabby too. I guess my point is that the rooms are a little dated, but BW is still a very nice resort in a great location with some of the best views at WDW. I hope you enjoy your stay.
