BWI or YC concierge

I am going in November, have a water view book at YC but I really want to go concierge. I have done both BWI and Yc and did like YC better but willing to give BWI another try. Anyone stayed concierge at ether and what are some of the reasons you really like that particular hotel for its services? Thanks

We stayed YC concierge July 4-11, 2003. We loved it!! Everyone was so friendly and just seemed willing to go the extra mile. When I was leaving one day for the park, I mentioned to Theresa at the desk this was the day we were eating at Les Chefs de France and she said, "Let me make sure you get a window seat." She started typing on her computer and sure enough, without requesting it when we arrived, we were escorted directly to a very nice table by the window. Of course the very best thing at YC concierge is Amy Jacobson who is an itinerary planner there, but she also does BWI so you could use her at either resort. She's the best! We enjoyed the lounge. Not too big, but comfortable and well appointed. The food was always good. And they always had something special for the kids. You can ask for juice boxes for the kids too although they don't have them put out anywhere. Sodas are kept in the bottom of the cabinet and are there for you all day if you like. Breakfast was plentiful with donuts, pastries, coffee cakes, fruit, cereals, bagels, toast, coffee, juice, soft drinks, etc. Midday had chips, salsa, crackers, cheese, sometimes small sandwiches, vegetables and dip, that sort of thing. Evenings had a variety of dishes including several hot dishes, chicken wings, terriyaki chicken, meatballs, etc. The kids always had PB&J sandwiches and at night a hot dish like macaroni -n-cheese or something. The maids were always good and we never returned to the room that it hadn't already been serviced. We were is 5183 and our view was breathtaking. If you are looking at the back of YC entrance we were just to the right of the back entrance on 5 th floor. Dead center view of Crescent Lake and the Lighthouse. The lights at the Boardwalk at Night were beautiful and I was kind of glad that we were able to see that, if we'd been staying there it wouldn't have been part of our view. If you have any specific questions, I'll be glad to try and help. We just loved YC concierge and I'm yearning to go back again. I had thought of planning a quick weekend trip and staying at one of the values, but I keep thinking about YC concierge. Maybe it's true what I've read. Once you've done it, it's really hard to go back to anything else.

Hi GailT!! I have not stayed at the BWI concierge, but I have stayed at Poly concierge (yuck),Yacht concierge,and Beach concierge.
And none seemed to live up to Yacht concierge!! I feel the service is better at Yacht. Just my opinion. I guess I should give boardwalk a try. Beach was ok but the lounge was small.

I have stayed at both the BWI and YC concierges. Their food offerings are very similar, so I can't really give one an edge over the other one on that point. We experienced very nice CM's at both resorts, so that's a tough call too. I liked the YC concierge a little bit better because our room was located much closer to the lounge than when we were at the BWI. Also, I like it that the whole floor is concierge at the YC, whereas at the BWI only part of the floor is concierge. That way once you're on the concierge floor you don't have to use your keycard to get to the lounge (although I must admit that the door to the lounge area was never locked during our stay at the BWI). Either way you really can't go wrong.

We used to stay at GF Concierge but switched to the BWI in December. We will never stay anywhere else. We had a deluxe room, which was beautiful and the service was amazing - the staff couldn't have done more for us. The food offerings were wonderful and always plentiful. We had a wonderful experience, and the lounge is beautiful.

YC concierge has beer and the BWI does not, it does sound like there are more child friendly hot items at the YC. The YC also offers a junior suite comparable somewhat to the deluxe room. Some really like SAB, but I would rather be a little closer to the BW so that is why we usually choose that resort. They share itinerary planners that are all AWESOME!! Happy Planning

Side note-The door at the BWI to concierge has to stay open because of a fire code, it is being replaced and moved in the spring.That is what the manager of concierge told me.

I MUCH preferred the BWI concierge for two reasons. First, the staff there was warm and freindly, which was a sense we did not get by a longshot about teh staff at the YC. Next, the lounge at the YC was very stiff and uncomfortable. no comfy sofa or chairs, just straight backed chairs and tables. Not welcoming as a place to meet and mingle with other guests.

Is the BWI lounge set up with couches and chairs, watchable TV sort of like AKL Concierge? We were at AKL in November and I just love their lounge. Our only Concierge previously was YC and while I was impressed with the staff, I thought the set up was poor--just a grab and go or take stuff back to your room experience.

We want to return to AKL Concierge in May but if for some reason we can't get AKL, am thinking of alternatives and maybe BWI would be good.

Do you have any photos of BWI Conc. Lounge?

I just changed room the YC to the BWI and I didn't go concierge. Almost 4 grand was a bit much for me with the silver plan so I got a standard view, first time I have done this view in many yrs but looking forward to staying there.

They are very similar, and the staff is also very similar, warm and friendly. The BWI is brighter and airier, where teh AKL is darker and more exotic, but the furnishings are similar, overstuffed chairs and a couple of sofas as well as some tables/chairs.

I have stayed at both the YC and BWI concierge and find the BWI so much friendlier and accomodating. The cast just can't be beat! Will be there again in March for my annual girls only trip and again in October with my husband.

Well, I was waffling on whether I wanted to upgrade to Concierge at the Boardwalk for my March trip. Based on what I have read here, I went ahead and upgraded last night. We have stayed at YC Concierge before and are now excited to try this at The Boardwalk.

Does anyone have a contact with email address or phone number at the Boardwalk Concierge? I am so excited now, that I can hardly wait to begin planning my PS's.
