hi all

any suggestions regarding buying a digital camera? Have looked at the walmart website but wondered if any one knew any other shops worth looking at.

thanks

I got a Canon a80 earlier in the year ready for my trip and same as 2 point cant praise it highly enough. the main difference i can see between the different models is how many Mega Pixles it takes the picture in.

let me know what sort of budget your looking at paying for a camera and i'll have a look around :D

We purchased a Nikon Coolpix 5200 in September - we paid just over £300 (by the time you add in case and memory card), but that was only about £30 more than the older model 4200. The main difference is the megapixels - I recommend looking at some in shops to see what feels comfortable in your hand. Ones with rechargeable batteries rather than ordinary batteries are more compact.

It does take a bit of getting used to, as the focussing and firing can be a bit slow compared with a conventional camera, but the results are great. I would also think about getting one of those little printers for downloading - I do have some 6x4 photo paper but it can go a bit skewed in my ordinary printer. You can also e-mail pictures to Kodak (or similar) and get prints back.

But definitely a good buy!! :drinking1

My boyfriend has just bought a Nikon Coolpix 5200 so it's nice to hear a good report. Now I've just got to figure out how to work the thing within the next 2 weeks:p

Ist day or two - keep the instructions to hand!! After that you soon figure it out::yes::

For a good price in the states,

Walmart
Best Buy
Circut City

In the states via the internet check out cnet.com they give their recommendations and then places to buy it at different prices.

Go to Walmart or similar big chain. Do not even attemp to buy from a small independent store (you will probably end up coming away with a Betamax Video Player as a free gift....)
