Were there buttons at the photo locations this year? We had our pictures taken very late (after 11:00) on Thursday, the 9th and didn't receive any buttons. I'm not even sure I remember seeing anyone wearing any. We've attended for the past 8 years and I'd hate to have missed them. Did anyone receive buttons this year? If so, do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to try and get some - Maybe the address or email for Guest Relations? HELP! Thanks in advance ...

No buttons for us at the 12/12 party. They handed out postcards this year. Yes, postcards!

Thanks, allicat. We got those postcards (advertisements for Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas), but I forgot about the buttons until a few days ago, probably because I didn't see any at the party. I can't believe that WDW would drop such an inexpensive perk (How much can they cost them?) that is such a tradition at MVMCP! I guess our collection won't be added to - If I had known ahead of time (I didn't even bother to check on this board because I would never have guessed that they wouldn't be given out), I would have tried to buy a pin - Although I've heard that those were unbelievably hard to find as the night went on. Maybe they sell more pins now, since the free buttons are no longer given out ... I will definitely be writing a letter expressing my disappointment. As many have already said, no buttons, fewer cookies/cocoa locations (and no sugar sprinkles), fewer photo locations, and no Rudolph (Tinkerbell flew, but it's not the same!). The only thing I was impressed with (enormously, in fact) was the ending to Wishes. The "surround" fireworks simply took my breath away. Disney sure knows how to do the fireworks up right. I will end my rant/rave now and attempt to calm down. Not sure if we'll continue MVMCP next year - We love it, but it seems like it's not work the extra $ any more. Anyone else feel the same?

I have my button collection for the past 6 years above my computer at work (on my cube). Sadly, no 2004 button....

No Tinkerbell or Rudolph on 12/7. Don't know why, it wasn't a windy night.

No buttons for us on 12/7 either. We also got the postcards. I'll just throw them into my scrapbook.

We went to MVMCP on the 7th and 9th. We didn't get the photos because every time we checked the line was horrendous and because we were pretty sure our DD's wouldn't make it past 9:30 even with naps we bypassed the photos.

I thought it was my imagination or poor timing but it seemed without the photo location in Fantasyland it was hard to find a photo spot.

DW and I noticed all of the cut backs this year as well. I have been very understanding about these things and have defended a lot of the Disney decisions on the boards recently but for the extra charge they sure did remove a lot this year. I have been going since 95 and have gone with my wife since 2000 and we look forward to certain things every year. COP and The jungle cruise were both closed we ride them every year at MVMCP and the cocoa/cookie and photo locations were greatly reduced. I will say the cookies were good this year, they must have finally run out of the stale ones from years past. No buttons! I enjoyed it but felt that some of the magic was gone.

There were no buttons on 11/30 - and the lines for the photos weren't that bad. That night the weather was so nice, didn't even need a jacket it was so warm. Feel bad for those going now that it is so cold. Also have to agree that the fireworks that surround you are incredible, I wasn't expecting that and it was unbelievable. The parades are so wonderful. It really is the best time to visit!

This was our first party 12/9. What buttons and what postcards??

In previous years, you got a special party button when you got your picture taken at MVMCP. This year they gave a postcard with a picture of the characters instead.

Did they have T-shirts this year? At last years MNSSHP, we bought T-shirts and I totally forgot about it this year. I never saw them either, but was wondering if they were around.

I've never been before, but overheard a few different people asking CMs about buttons. They all responded that there were no buttons this year, just trading pins that you could buy.

As for tshirts, I saw 2 at the Emporium. Not 2 designs, just 2 shirts. Granted I was shopping after midnight so there wasn't much left. But still, I didn't see them all over the place like I did when I went to the Halloween party last year.

No buttons on 12/12 either. Pins were very hard to get. Finally at the end of the night went to exposition hall and there were 4 pins total available. I ended up with the passholder pin. Best looking one left. very cute. Also, the ice cream shop on main street where they were giving out hot chocolate had the stingiest sorta nasty CM. My husband DD and I went in, got in line but then my DH went to get a table before I ordered and they would not give me a hot chocolate for him. They had to see his ticket to give me an extra hot chocolate. This was right before the 2nd parade so it was not as though there were any stragglers from the day trying to sneak hot chocolate. I am sorry if it is free unlimited hot chocolate all night why not give an extra even if the person is not there. I was not asking for 5 or 6 extra? The girl CM was very nasty about it. That was one of the only down parts of the evening but it stuck with me. :sad1:
Other than that it was great. the fantasy land hop made my DD5 night. She danced with pinnochio, geppetto, susy, perla, and pluto. Dont you just love your kids being happy! If I can figure out how to post I will post pics and video when (if) I actually manage to do my trip report.
