Bus system virgins going all the way!

A large part of this scenario is attitude. If you go in looking to be unhappy I can guarantee you will be. If you've never been a user of public transportation, you will probably not deal well with the buses. If you continually say "if we had a car we would be there by now", the buses will not work for you.

If, on the other hand, you can accept the fact that this is really very good transportation and will get you wherever you need to be, you will be very happy with the buses. If you are happy to not have to drive for a week, you will LOVE the buses.

You will need to be more flexible as a bus rider. This is public tranporation and comes with all the issues that come with any public tranportation system.

You are the only one who can determine how well this will go. Keep an open mind, be flexible and resist comparing the bus system to having a private car and you may be pleasantly surprised.

You're right! I'm a big rental car advocate and I did hedge my bet a bit and I do have a rental car reserved (shhhh) ;). My wife and I were just thinking that since we've been so many times and had just gone earlier this year that maybe we could save the money and give the bus a try.

By the way, we'll be celebrating my son 15th birthday on 10/28 while we're there! He's currently single ya know. :woohoo:

Funny!!:rotfl::rotfl:I told my daughter that I had a hot prospect for her (she's single, too :rolleyes1) and she just gave me the "teenage girl eye roll". :rotfl::rotfl:

Let me know how the bus thing goes for you. We have considered it also, but have always chickened out and rented the car in the end. I am curious to see how another die-hard car person likes the Disney transportation.

I'll be sure to post a follow-up regarding our experience with bus system. Telll your DD to be on the lookout for a tall (he's 6'1"), slender young man that some folks say resembles Leonardo DeCaprio! Enjoy your trip!

Thanks!

Isn't every teen girl on the lookout for tall DeCaprio types?? I'm sure she will be keeping her eyes open! :rotfl::rotfl:

By the way, my daughter is a dancer and on the pom squad with long blond hair and blue eyes....

we love not having to drive on vacation. i would say 95% of the time buses have been great. my only issue is after all day at epcot the bus pickup area is so far away. and because we walk right past the taxi area- we usually end up taking a taxi on that night. but i put a 20$ bill in my laynard for emergency taxi use. enjoy pop.

Well...I have chickened out! :rolleyes1 I really thought I'd be able to make it all the way but I started checking rental prices and found that I could get a full size car for $13/day. I think it's worth spending $13/day to not have to be squished in to a bus or standing with the masses at park closing. We'll probably still take the bus to the MK but somehow I just feel better knowing we'll have a car. Maybe next time. :thumbsup2 Only 9 more days!!!:dance3:
