There's someone on the cruise meet group (on another social media platform) for our cruise next year that says that she heard from a "reliable source" that in February the Magic is headed for a dry dock to get Tiana's Place as a replacement for Carioca's. This is literally the only place I've ever heard this. I thought that Tiana's was going to be unique to the Wonder? Has anyone else heard this rumor? I'm pretty dubious. I asked her if her source was moonlighting as a bus driver at Disney World! :P

Gross. I actually liked Carioca's - I had several choices on the menu there. While I haven't been on the Wonder yet, I am not impressed with the Tiana's menu OR the whole supper club vibe there and am seriously considering seeing if I can snag an extra Palo reservation the night I'm slated in there.

I'm scratching my brain, but I know that I've read something about Carioca's being replaced, but not with Tiana's Place - something new. I can't for the life of me remember where I heard or read it, though. I'm with Beth (though I think we are in the minority) on Carioca's. It's my favorite menu on the Magic.

Well, if you look at the cruise line website, the Magic sails the first 2-2.5 week in February and then not until March so maybe?

Interesting. Even if there's a dry dock, I have to wonder if they would put Tiana's Place on both ships. It seems like they are working more than ever to make each ship unique with unique shows and experiences.

We loved Tiana's and didn't like Carioco's, so I would be thrilled if this is true :)

I think the menu at Cariocos is one of the best on the ship. The theming is quite awful though and boring/not well done. I do know the Magic is going in for a 2-3 week dry dock soonish. We were flying home from the 7 night Med cruise this past August and sat next to contractor who is in charge of all the water features on all the ships. Pretty cool gig if you ask me as he gets to travel from ship to ship for maintenance. Anyways, he did tell me that he is trying to work out his calendar to align with a 2-3 week dry dock for the Magic early in 2018.

I would welcome it!!! I dislike Carioca's....feel like the design was rushed and they just painted over the woodwork from Parrot Cay...and that horrible mural.

While I agree Tiana's is loud...we had such a good time there and I really like the menu. It was one of my favorite dining rooms. The supper club theme was awesome in my opinion.

We were on the Wonder in June and our granddaughter pinched the alligator's tail in Tiana's...it was loud some of the time, but fun. I doubt DCL will duplicate it on the Magic. Remember, you can order items off the menu for dinner if nothing on it is of interest.

If I were a betting person, I would put my money on them re-doing it with a completely different theme but of the same ilk as Tiana's... say, a Hawaiian luau-ish theme with Moana. They'd be nuts to put a Tiana's duplicate on there. We sailed with people on the Wonder who (no joke) literally booked the cruise purely to eat in Tiana's and see Frozen. I'm sure people will decide to cruise on the Dream with the new Beauty and the Beast in mind, too. Everyone is eating up the things unique to specific ships, and they have to know that.

We didn’t find Tiana’s too loud, but we were seated pretty far away from the stage. I think it depends on where your table is how the stage show impacts your experience. I liked the menu, but there was a lot of shrimp on it, and DH has a shellfish allergy, so that limited his choices quite a bit. Our table mates liked Prince Naveen’s chocolate cake so much that our server brought it to them the next night in Triton’s!

I think that Tiana's is the best MDR in the fleet. Loud, yes, Fun - YES!!! And I liked the menu items fine. They did make a "change" to Tiana's between January and July this year. In January, the band started playing on pretty early during the seating. Now they start later, play less - so that you actually can talk to your server to place your order and be heard - and get to know your table mates.

I enjoyed the original menu in Carioca's. The second time they had removed the "All Meat Entree" with the skewers. I was really looking to up my cholesterol count again, but it was no longer (like the Coconut Shrimp in Parrot Cay) SAD. And I will agree with someone above - they only painted over the restaurant - didn't even take out the "decorations" just a painted over them - you can still see the outlines - SLOPPY for Disney

Isn't the menu very similar to Carioca's/Enchanted Gardens? It seemed to me that the food options were pretty similar (+ certain "themed" dishes).

Did you check out videos from Tiana's Place? My guess is you'll have your answer pretty fast whether you'd like it or not. We loved the ambiance but it wasn't quiet. If you can't tolerate loud music during dinner, you'll have a hard time enjoying the place.

I'll just say if it turns into a supper club type thing, February will be the LAST Classic-ship cruise I take on my own. (My dad still wants to do Alaska and wants to do it on Disney, so I'd have to tolerate it one more time.) NOT how I see or experience a relaxing dinner.

No, it's not similar. It's New Orleans themed and flavored - which is a big negative for me.

And I have seen the videos and hated it. Hence why I'll be trying for an extra dinner in Palo (since I've requested to start in Tritons and will be gunning for a Palo reservation the first night as I don't like duck or fish, so that menu is out for me as well) to avoid it. It has nothing to do with loud music and everything to do with despising the vibe of supper clubs.

If you can't tolerate loud music during dinner,
This makes me nervous about taking the Wonder again. I find all the dining rooms (Magic class/Dream class) to be extremely noisy anyway. Adding loud music for the duration of the meal would just be way over the top for me.

I guess I could now give Cabanas a try for dinner, if Tiana's is added to the Magic.

You should avoid it then.

p.s.: Not sure was a "supper club" is. I suppose it is what we call "souper-spectacle" in french...

It is noisy but if you enjoy pop-jazz, you might enjoy it. I'm not a fan of loud music (ever) but I appreciated this one... surprisingly!

As I said, I would check on the tube for videos... Or just take a peak during another night.
